I needed the reminder that I'm allowed to find joy and comfort even when the world is horrifying. I tend to feel a lot of guilt doing things I enjoy while such atrocities are happening. But the alternative is feeling hopeless and run down and that helps no one either.
Thanks for commenting on the state of the world, instead of ignoring the obvious. I too feel the heaviness and am trying to adjust my life to integrate the new reality the best I can. It does bring light to every spectrum of our lives, even cleaning products. I see you and feel you.

I just invested in some new foundation! Threw out everything else. Did the same with mascara, shadow, etc. What a feeling! I believe I’m making “more thoughtful “ knits for 2024. Also planning my first linen/ cotton summer knit. I do think Ravens 🐦⬛ are going too kick donkey 🫏! 49’s / Ravens in the Super Bowl. Hugs! ClaudiaSJI
Purging feels so good and deep cleaning is the best when the world feels chaotic. 🫧🫧🫧 I’m currently trying to balance my life better so I have more relaxing knitting time. But I’ve been spinning everyday this month and that feels like a win. Lots of love 💕💕
Yea it's been a horrifying few months, and as a Brit, I feel the same almost complicity because of the UK govs actions. I live in Finland, so I am a bit removed, but protesting when I have been well enough at least made me feel like I was doing something...But yes find the small things, use that aerosol cleaner. Did it work well btw? I am working on the Quake scarf by Stephen West, and a test knit for some colour work socks. Sending positive thoughts from Helsinki ❄🌨

Yesterday I had to frog my Tineola Shawl, which I spun for, because it had too many mistakes. Won’t knit with my niece’s kids running around next time!
Goodness I am sorry to hear about your basement. 🫧 I am currently working on a jigsaw puzzle of a needlepoint alphabet sampler. In terms of knitting I have a OLD wip, a basic gray sweater, on my needles.

Ugh sorry about your basement... that storm was a mess! I live about 6 hours south of you and feel your pain with that weather. I have the same feeling about cleaning out everything... I did my craft room/office yesterday and it felt soooo good. I have a few weeks off work and plan on doing the rest of the house. Cleaning influencers are the best... I've been obsessed for years 😂. Nothing gets me cleaning like a few episodes of hoarders or youtube cleaning channels.

I should really save the ones I like because I’ve seen some really good videos and don’t remember who they were. I do that with knitting too… 🙄
2023 is the year I finally got comfortable with frogging whole projects. I frogged 2 sweaters where I had already split for sleeves. I abandoned 1 which was my first time using unspun yarn. I am almost finished with my no frills but taking a break because my arm hurts from non stop knitting from redoing the sleeves and hem after try on. I can't decide what to knit next but would love some socks to keep my feet warm this winter.
I currently have 3 projects going. Two knitting the Festive cowl i'm at 9.5 inches of the 12 called for, and Slimer socks with fangirl fibres Ghostbuster kit from October. I'm about 1/3 done with the foot of a cuff down pattern. And then finally I'm crocheting the Adalia shawl and i'm on row 41 of 60. I'm really hoping to get these projects done so that i can start new ones.
Hi Taylor, happy to see your life update. This week I've tackled some knitting surgery, I knit the Snowy Forest and after wearing it a few times I didn't love the neckline so I put in a lifeline and cut off the collar and I'm attempting to improve it with some short rows and extra length. Forever modifying until I enjoy wearing things over here!
I need to do a room by room clean and declutter. I did a full kon mari about 5 years ago but we fell right back into rampant online shopping when the pandi hit.
Hahahaha 🫶🏼 the playoffs are more underwhelming than I thought they would be… watching GB crush the Cowboys now and it’s like, ‘okay’… next season I’ll have to start watching college football. The rookies are the better players half the time!
