May.J, who facilitates and interviews on this program, is also a singer and sang "Let It Go" in the Japanese version of the Disney film Frozen. She is a very good singer, but since she is recognized as the queen of cover songs, it has been difficult for her to produce hit songs.
NHK is sort of BBC of Japan.
It felt rather formal. When you see them on the live streams of them signing and the release "party" they are much more entertaining when relaxed and informal.

The song they played isn't Live sadly, it's just a playback with Asami singing, guess thats what they do for TV.

It's better you didn't play the song because the band didn't play live here only Asami vocal is live.
