"Fit as a fiddle". My poor Robin. This is what I really admire. Not feeling sorry for himself, just kept going till the end. you'll always be in my heart. Most beautiful voice the world has ever heard.
@@susieq9801 Yes. Horrible. As was Robins last performance of 'Singing with the Soldiers.' Heartbreaking to watch for sure. The soldiers are all so strong, fit and healthy looking standing there in a semi-circle with Robin. And there's poor Robin, so very tiny. By this time he was nothing but skin stretched over bones. He looks like a little kid dressed up in his father's clothes or something. That orange jacket just swallowed him up. But one thing Robin had in Spades was Determination. He would not give up or give in. There's a story I heard about how when the Titanic Requium was being debuted, and Barry was with Robin in his hospital room, that Robin was determined to try and attend with Barry. That he somehow got out of the hospital bed but then of course, he collapsed.💔 And I'm told that Robin had a sign placed there welcoming Barry as his Special Guest. Barry didn't attend though. He chose to stay with Robin. And for that I give Barry full credit and a thank you. OMG. Thinking about all this stuff is just too damn SAD.

RJ was speaking for him. I don't understand why they let him be seen like that but Robin was determined. That shouldn't even be allowed on the internet. I was a nurse and have seen a lot of dying people and my heart was ripped to shreds seeing him like that. Although it was a natural thing for Barry to want to stay with Robin it was still admirable and to his immense credit. If Robin tried to get up and collapsed, which I could easily believe, it just reinforced my belief that Robin was one helluva gutsy and determined guy. He fought like hell!!! It's just so damn maddening that Robin couldn't hold on for the unveiling of the memorial by the Queen and to see his Requiem performed. Robin didn't want to stop making music. Barry had to tell him that the dream came true. Oh my...makes me cry....but you can tell listening to him here he is not well. He was a fighter! RIP beautiful Robin. You made so many of us happy with your music and yours and Mo's comedic acts! Love you always and 4-ever!!
Robin was such a trooper!...But oh yeah, I can hear how frail he was just in the sound in his voice here alone. Wasn't long after this that Robin finally lost his courageous battle. My heart breaks for this beautiful man....I love him and don't visit these kind of interviews often, ..as it affects me so deeply. I'm sure that I am not alone in that.

I watched one interview of one of Robin's last television interviews. It was oh so sad. Robin's speech was greatly affected. He was mumbling half the time. It was so painful to watch. He passed away about 7 months later.
My heart was broken hearing the very ill robin almost near his death. Wish he was given some extension on earth, but that's life. Everything happens for a reason. Thank you for your magical, fantastic, incomparable voice❤
I grew up listening to the BeeGees I was very young and I thought Robin was the cutest boy I had ever seen his smile was so cute and I miss him singing but when I heard he had died I could not believe it he has the most beautiful voice and no one will ever take his place I have loved all 3 of BeeGees for ever but Robin is my heart string rest in peace sweetie I love you my angel I will go on listening to you sing as long as I am able
This was very hard to listen to, knowing this interview was just 3 months before Robin's passing. It is clear he was not "fit as a fiddle". His voice was very frail and words were slurred, nothing like his normal voice, which was always clear, concise, and he enunciated his words perfectly. In another interview I saw earlier, with his son, RJ, discussing their work on Titanic Requiem, he looked 20-30 years older and looked very weak. His body and head were drooping, as if unable to support his body upright. He kept working until the end. I wished he had slowed down and rest his body to allow it to fight the disease. He might have lived longer. He was, clearly, dying. But he didn't want anyone to know. Even Barry didn't know until he saw pictures of Robin, and quickly went to be by his side. Barry sang the song "End of the Rainbow" to Robin, as he laid unconscious in bed. He said he didn't know if Robin heard him or not. It was very sad. I am glad Robin is no longer in pain and reunited with his other half, Maurice, baby brother, Andy, and his parents.
Agree. Robin refused to play victim or even let anyone else put the focus on his illness. He'd always change the subject immediately. And he kept pushing for things that were important to him like the British Bomber Command Memorial, right up to the very end. Robin had a Beautiful heart.
My uncle was part of Bomber Command, a Pathfinder and was shot down over Germany aged 28yrs. Thank you Robin for honouring all those thousands of men who died. I will be laying a wreath at the Beachy Head memorial near to where I live and I will leave roses for you too xx
Dorothy Scarth Robin said that his contribution to the Bomber Command Memorial was the thing he was Most proud of in his life. ..More than all the awards and accolades he'd received over his lifetine for his music. Robin totally believed in that campaign and stayed committed to it. So glad he got to view it from scaffolds before he passed ...which was shortly before it opened to the public. I've seen pics of Robin up on that scaffold gazing at the magnificent sculptures...and the expression on Robins face says it all!! Rest in Peace, Robin....You ARE Missed.

Dear Robin, you are so brave and strong. I can hear in your voice that you aren't your normal self, although you are pretending to be. You also had so much talent composing different kinds of music. I miss you, my love. Rest In Peace with George. You two can make beautiful music together. ❤️🌹❤️
