Superb! 29ft is the ideal size for most boaters. Larger boats are harder to dock & more expensive to maintain (lines, halyards, sails etc) and more expensive when you take to dock as most marina’s charge by the foot for mooring. You seem to have found a real gem - unlike Niki (white spot pirates) who bought a project as opposed to a boat. It’s good now after a ton of money has been sunk into it.
Yes, I’m pretty happy with the choice of my boat. A big plus was definitely the fact that the previous owner lived on it for one year and crossed the Atlantic so my boat is really well equipped 🥰
If you have heavy dinghy trips, you might consider a Chinese 36 or 53 CC four cycle outboard. They can be lightly modified to troll. My bigger TK 144FC weighs 23 LBS, so it can go up and down flights of steps. I don't leave gas in it overnight. A CB radio is a must. I like the Uniden PRO 520, because the R F Gain makes reception much more comfortable. I also like 12 volt chest freezers instead of the built in galley fridge. The old one makes a great place to hide dry items like a camera.
I guess there's nothing more exciting than Having your own boat and looking forward to the fun of sailing and new adventures. Love a gal who loves sailing and beer. Looking fwd to your new horizons
Yes. It’s definitely the most exciting thing I’ve ever done (apart from crossing the Atlantic maybe or encounter stormy weather). 😅 I’m super happy, about to start sailing up the islands within the next few days whoop whoop 💃💃⛵️⛵️
Congrats on your new boat...you did a great job cleaning her up! Funny, I am a Kristina also (I go by Kris) and I live aboard my Island Packet 320 in the Fl Keys!!! Best of Luck!!
The hard part is deciding what I can afford, what I want vs what i need.... kind of, and what I want to do with it and where I want to do it. Am I more confused than anyone else about getting started?@@sailorgirl.kristina
Well done, you made a very good choice. it is a very solid and well built boat. very seaworthy and easy to sail solo. I look forward to the rest of your adventures.
Just subscribed to your channel, never know it does exist before (sorry). Awesome feelings to have your own boat. You looks great even though looking tired doing all the cleaning. I like your positive attitudes & the good vibes. Keep it up dear lovely lady. Cheers...!!! 👋👌👍😘
Regarding your anchor & your mooring lines: From its normal location, tie it to the top of the bow pulpit. It will not chafe on the mooing lines, but it will be easy to put back on the bow roller once you leave the mooring.
bamba la O cha cha cha ( Something like that ), Oh well nobody else tried to work out the song. I saw a more modern 30 foot Dufour that didn't look as big inside as your 29 footer , nice boat Kristina.
Well done, also I sailed solo from Amsterdam to Mallorca by ocean and now I do charter commercial, but really I mis my boat to back to solo sailor and take female crew with me as I am I man😉best life
Congratulations Kristina. It is my dream to buy a Catamaran and live on board. I wish to meet you some day on the sea. If you know someone who will be in St-Martin between Feb. 24th and Marsh 9 I would love to sail couple of days to learn more sailing. I have little bit of experience. Good luck with your boat
Hi Jean, thank you for your comment! I don’t know anyone in St.Martin but there are Facebook sailing groups for each Caribbean island, where cruisers can exchange experiences or ask questions. Maybe have a look!? Always great to sail with others to gain experience and I’d also highly recommend taking some sailing classes as well which is great fun and awesome to learn more. Cheers and merry Christmas, Kristina
Hahaha that’s a great guess! Even though in this case it wasn’t (I think - I actually gotta go back to my footage and check what song it was but pretty sure it wasn’t Rammstein that day) 😂🤪😁
I am smitten by you and the boat. My own situation is I have a Catalina 30 with a broken motor. I am jealous that you are out on the water. You need someone with you to travel the world, you've already had a severe medical incident. Use the buddy system! Surely you would have no problem attracting a nice man to go with you, or take a female friend. Though it's nice just to stay in an Anchorage for a while. I'll be watching.
Thank you for your nice comment! I’m never alone - I have so many very close friends who I consider my family and I travel together with them! So no need to worry 😉💃⛵️
Thank you so much! Yes, I just got some work done in the boatyard here in Grenada and will hopefully start sailing up the islands next week! Can’t wait! 😊💃⛵️
Alles gute für Dein Segelboot. Wirst du vielleicht noch grössere Distanzen segeln da du jetzt dort wo du anliegst Freunde hast und dich zuhause fühlst. Liebe Grüsse
Vielen lieben Dank!
Hello there Downunder 🇦🇺🦘 I’ve actually lived in Australia for about 1.5 years, half a year on a boat in Sydney Harbour and then in Adelaide. Not sure if I’ll sail all the way to Straya tho 😅 Personally wouldn’t do it in my 29ft boat. I got my boat for island hopping and living in the Caribbean but for ocean crossings I’d like to be on a bigger boat, so let’s see. 😉 Cheers, Kristina
Vielen lieben Dank Wouter! 🥰 Ich segel seit 4,5 Jahren in der Karibik, Grenada ist quasi mein zu Hause (Hurricane Season) und in der Cruising Season segel ich die Inseln auf und ab. Liebe Grüße und schönen Sonntag 💫😊
Thank you. I’ve changed my anchor last year when I did several other projects on the hard. The anchor + new chain was actually one of the first things I bought for my boat. I chose a Mantus M2 15kg 👍⚓️☺️ Cheers from the Caribbean ☀️
Haha well, in that case it’s probably for the best that the San Miguel one busted! 😂🤪 The other beers were actually German and Italian beers that were all very nice! 😁🍻
So happy to see someone else also own the same boat I have. All the best. Probably will see each other in the Caribbean or somewhere else.
Thanks! She’s a great boat! 🥰⛵️
Congrats on the new boat! I'm looking forward to seeing your adventures.
Thank you very much! 🥰⛵️
"granny panties!"😂
Well played and very sensible thinking. The perfect size older boat in a great location.
Thank you! Haha and yeah the granny panties prank was a good one ! 👵👙😂

I was so relieved, too! Those cockroaches on the other boat were so disgusting 🙈🪳🪳🪳😂
Congrats on your new boat...you did a great job cleaning her up! Funny, I am a Kristina also (I go by Kris) and I live aboard my Island Packet 320 in the Fl Keys!!! Best of Luck!!
Oh hey Kris! How awesome to find another Kristina who lives on her boat! 😁👍💃⛵️ Cheers and happy new year! 🎆
Congrats! Now it's time for me to see what boats are on the market.
Haha yessss!! Definitely go for it! 👍😉 Happy new year! ✨

Nice job on both cleaning the boat and creating your first long format video😗🤟🏽🤙🏽
Thank you sooo much! So glad to have finally finished episode 1! 😅😉💃
Well done, you made a very good choice. it is a very solid and well built boat. very seaworthy and easy to sail solo. I look forward to the rest of your adventures.
Thank you so much! I’m super happy with my choice! She also feels so spacious considering it’s only 29ft 👍🥰⛵️

Congrats on the first episode! Great to see scirocco again. Looking forward to sailing videos ⛵️
Thank you sooo much ! Yes, getting close to start sailing again 💃💃💃⛵️⛵️⛵️

Yeah, sounds like a good idea! Someone else said to turn the anchor upside down to avoid chafing which I might try first ! Happy New Year! ✨☺️

Haha it’s a good guess (not quite right though) 🤪💃💃💃 And yes, I think the same: it feels really spacious for a 29 ft boat, it’s perfect for me 🥰
The place looks great 👍
Thank you! 🥰⛵️🏝️💃

Hi, from Oz.
When are you going to sail to Australia?
Stevo Kline.❤
Hello there Downunder 🇦🇺🦘
I’ve actually lived in Australia for about 1.5 years, half a year on a boat in Sydney Harbour and then in Adelaide.

Actually San Mig is the worst beer....that's why they didnt drink it.
Haha well, in that case it’s probably for the best that the San Miguel one busted! 😂🤪 The other beers were actually German and Italian beers that were all very nice! 😁🍻
Hello ⛵⚓⛵🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Hi from Grenada and happy holidays 😊⛵️✨
