Regarding stack positions. When I was in the service, combat arms 11B/19D conducting Military Operations in Urban Terrain eg MOUT ops we were taught that it was the #2 man in the stack that had the highest chance of injury. As it was explained, typically the #1 man was more likely to gain entry before the enemy was able to respond, while the 2 man was more likely to draw fire. Just my own experience of stack/entry operations. And it has been awhile.
Generally yes. But in this particular situation I think the number 1 position has an increased risk due to IEDs and S-vest on site. He was a known bomb maker. But standard CQB situations it is number 2 who tends to draw fire.
I can't thank these Heros enough for my freedom and the freedom of my family and our country, Thank You Rangers for all you do for all of us Americans,God Bless You all and your families 🙏🏼🇺🇲💯💪🏼

Man I remember when a bunch of fellow force recon marines (2d) were getting hurt in Helmand and would go stateside then be back in like a month.. Patrol Base Alcatraz 2011
So, before going into combat, i made sure to specify that i use concussion grenades, not fragmentation grenades, and also, i use the HK51, but with the addition of a buffer tube like on the STG44. I call it, the STG-21. I wouldn't touch a regular military gun. They can always be redesigned, and improved upon. I mean... i dont wanna die... y'know? And thats up to me. Oh and I had them use lighter bullets and a lighter powder load, so it feels like an assault rifle, has the potential to be a battle rifle, and the possibility to use a supressor and subsonic ammo.
What we tend to ignore is how traumatic is for a man to go through all that… our survival instinct allows us to go through those experiences with a certain grade of “confidence”,like is the most normal thing to do,we don’t feel the pain,we stand horrific views and we manage unbelievably stressful situations,in that moment, the problems will come after, when the danger is gone, when you’re in the safe and familiar environment of your home, all those images, feelings, sounds, smells come back to your mind like it just happened…they stick in our brains and change our lives forever… and as with anything else we all deal with it our own way, someone with good results, some others just can’t cope with that… being a soldier is an hard task, and they must be respected and gave a special position in the society… I never served myself, never shoot anyone, never be in a combat situation, but I’ve seen my part of shit,I’ve seen enough to start trying imagine what it can be… respect to all those who gave themselves to the community

A friend of mine took a live grenade while entering a room during a Live CQB exercise, But he was lucky because the grenade landed really bad so he was covered from most of the fragments. But when he left the room he had 1 shrapnel piece stuck in his Kevlar next to his throat and one stuck in his ballistic glasses right in front of his iris. And then i hear about this hero and ho much he rocks
