Thank God Amala has such a level head on her shoulders and does not play these anger games

It's the crowd screeching 'F the patriarchy', and you don't think rap hasn't had it's fair share of scrutiny since the 80's?
I don’t like Taylor, but this is a prime example of making something out of nothing.
Entirely agreed.
Patriarchy is a word that defines the founding. By Taylor saying f the patriarchy, she becomes the patriarchy. She and others might have only picked the male definition. Typical of this generation to pick and choose the meaning of a word.
Lol Is that what it is? Satan works in subtleties as we’ve seen him slowly chip away at the entire Christian fabric of America. This is how he operates and given it’s mostly young ladies who listen to her and the fact that Hollywood is satanically controlled, it’s safe to say this little jab was straight out of his playbook. Wake up, seek Jesus and He will lead you in all truth.
Taylor is a prime example of making something our of nothing.
Does the patriarchy include Taylor's old man that funded her career start up too?
I don't know about being a "Swifty," but I acknowledge that many of her songs are super catchy and that she's an incredible businesswoman. Outside of the career she's built, she's a person. And as most people do, sometimes she makes some good points. Sometimes, she misses the mark. Trying to paint her as a villain is just as pointless as painting her as a saint.
This
Usually “Business Woman” means “OnlyFans Model” but sometimes it means “Taylor Swift”.
I genuinely agree with your comment.
I think it’s much too easy for people to hate or even love someone they don’t know based on petty things, these days.
@@CookieMangler she’s a *mastermind*
@CookieMangler Businesswoman really just means a woman who is an owner or operator of a profitable business. It's really no indicator of whether or not that business is socially respected. I called Taylor Swift an "incredible businesswoman" because she's built a huge empire of a business with millions of rabid fanatics, and not only has incentivized a slew of employees to help her manage her career but also incentivized other companies to cooperate in her growth and promotion. Also, when other companies tried to limit her ownership of her own product, she turned those exploitative business practices on their head. She's smart. She's powerful. She's worthy of respect. She's also human.
It should be enough to just like her work or not like her work. Agree with what she says/does or disagree with it. People make it way too deep when it involves public figures. It's not like she's in charge of political policy. At least...... not yet.
I honestly feel the same way about the Only Fans issue. Invest in it or don't. Date someone who invests or don't. Feeling all morally superior of the sidelines is silly. There's plenty of people who would share your opinions on either side of the matter. "Cornography" has a purpose and place in society. That's why it's a profitable business. OF is just one facit of that industry. It's unworthy of the war people rage against it.
If ive learned anything if my 39 years growing up its that celebrities are never ever role models for children.

Literally the whole song is about her experience dating an older man who potrays himself a certain way, likely because he can impress younger girls but not women his age. I see this as her kinda admitting that she believed him or thought he was cool but now sees the irony of it all since shea grown and gained perspective.
I think the better point to make here is that Taylor Swift is a grown woman who can present whatever content she wants to present. If you don't like it and don't want your children exposed to it, you don't have to participate in it.
Fr
But you can also call out the ridiculousness along the way no one is immune
This chick attracts so many feminists. It's how you know she's just another modern girl.
Do you feel the same way about older men dating young women?
@@hereforthecomments258 I have myself dated an older man, and some of my friends and relatives have as well. I will say this about it: I think there are situations where people connect and get along really well regardless of age. I have one good friend who married an older man, and they have a solid relationship. However, the man I dated was highly manipulative and condescending. He mostly wanted to date me for the romantic aspects of it and had little interest in the rest of the relationship. At the time I knew it was a toxic relationship, but I stayed in it (lord only knows why), but I also think that the age difference definitely contributed to a lot of our problems. He often took advantage of it at my expense. I learned a lot, but I learned it the hard way. Older men dating younger women does not work for everyone (older women dating younger men doesn't work for everyone either). If you have one person who is using their age and experience to take advantage of a younger person, then it is definitely a problem. However, if both parties are equals in the relationship, and everyone is treated with respect, then why not? All relationships should work like that whether there is an age difference or not.

Finally, someone who gets it instead of getting riled up over nothing. Thanks for being level headed Amala. Taylor sings about toxic men in the industry. Narcissists and abusers. Not every day average joes. Yet these grown men get their panties in a bunch over anything she says.
Earl Silverman
Yes, but that is not what a great many will take away as they sing it. We all know that lyrics get scrambled and meaning from the artist isn't the meaning the audience takes from the lyrics.
Examples:
1. Every Breathe You Take is a stalker song, not a love song.
2. There's a bathroom on the right ... CCR... is really There's a bad moon on the rise
It’s not Taylor’s fault, it’s her fanbase of young people who take her lyrics and apply it to the general male population. I have younger friends who proudly yell out “f*ck men” and “I will never date a man” because they assume the toxic experiences described in songs by artists like Taylor and Olivia Rodrigo mean that every man will act that way. And they get so bitter and cynical about actual wholesome love songs. It’s like they are brainwashed 😭

Its dangerous what celebrities can get people to think though. I had an argument with my sister, a swift fan, that female singers do not make less money than male singers just because they’re female. Taylor Swift said so in an interview and I could not convince her otherwise. I listed 10 popular male singers and asked her if they made more money than Swift (they didn’t). I told her how length of career, genre, general subject matter, and talent all played in to how many people (money sources) like any particular artist. She had no reason to believe what Swift said other than it’s what Swift said. The conversation ended in anger when she didn’t want to talk a bout it anymore. She admires Swift so much, she couldn’t see reason anymore.
Feels like a typical Swiftie fan. She's just as toxic as the male haters (she won't like hearing that lol). It's also proof to never believe everything from a celebrity or someone you admire. They can get in your mind, and change your thinking. Hopefully, she wakes up and finds reason.

I was searching for someone with something like this to say. I think you’re correct.
i feel like most swifties are pretty good at interpreting lyrics, from what i’ve seen, they break down and decipher every sentence
@@miaelaine I just think when you have a big screen close up and the lyric is a hand pumping f the patriarchy, the adoring fans aren’t breaking down the lyrics, they’re being swept up in an anthemic moment. Then the meaning of the lyrical context is lost in a trade for an emotional response to just that phrase which could lead many to envision the current social discourse and form opinions about it. To say it is indoctrination is stronger than this calls for. But this is entertainment in the same format it’s been for decades, nothing unique or new.
You don't know swift fans at all they break down every word and thing she says. If the Patriarchy was real, Taylor Swift would never be this famous
It's real, it's just portrayed and interpreted in so many different ways that the facts get lost.
good point
The patriarchy is very real, it’s just significantly changed from what it is and people still judge it for what it was. It used to be much worse and women today are lucky we are not women 100 years ago even, but the patriarchy is still real just not a relevant due to society’s growth and focus on other issues.
@@atlasdr0wned211Can you actually define “the patriarchy”? What is it? Who is it made up of? Is it all men, or just some men? Are men also controlled by “the patriarchy”, or is it just women? Like, if most of my bosses are women, the CEO is a woman, and all of the department heads are women, is that still “the patriarchy”? Am I “the patriarchy” in that situation, and if so, how do I exert my power on them, because they aren’t listening to a word I say.
@@danieljohnson2005 I’m not saying the patriarchy is evil at all, and it is significantly less problematic today than it was in say Ancient Greece. Men are also negatively affected by the ideals of the patriarchy, as it’s where a lot of the men can’t show emotions ideals stem from. Of course I’m not a professional by any means and don’t personally study it, so I can’t give you a definitive explanation and I won’t pretend that I can. I do realize that there are women in power and like that might make it feel opposite I can understand that, and I guess in that situation it might seem the women in this environment are the “patriarchy” but that would actually be a matriarchy just linguistically. I don’t mean to say that the patriarchy is evil by any means, all I’m saying it is a real thing and is honestly judged based on what it used to be whereas it definitely has limited to a point where it doesn’t honor its roots. The roots of the patriarchy are basically “man good woman bad” and that’s not at all the general consensus of it today, at least not that I’m aware. There are still people that might consider that and there are definitely still sexist people (especially some men I’m not saying all) that believe men are superior. I am not saying men are bad or evil (I honestly don’t like feminism or those ideologies because everyone should be equal) I’m just meant to say that the patriarchy is real and is judged off it’s not super cool history. I’m so sorry if I offended you, I also apologize if I’m not explaining my view well because I’m not a professional at all and don’t have all the information on the issue itself. To conclude, the patriarchy is real but different than what it was and I think it’s important to recognize it’s not the evil thing it used to be anymore. I don’t know exactly who is included in it by current definition but it used to be men, particularly older men (fathers and leadership roles), due to linguistics is why it works that way (something with women in control is a matriarchy).

Goodness sake if you think about it Taylor doesn’t sing over sexualised songs, or oversexualized dancing. Her songs are about love, heartbreak, insecurities and sadness. Songs young and adults can enjoy by relating. People even call her bland for that but I love it how my 13 yo sister and I can listen to her with my mom near. And this is who you go against and not all those twirking, anaconda, disco stick buy me margarita girls.
i dare her to answer, so what is the solution to patriarchy? women working all of the dangerous jobs and building the infrastructure and working longer hours…? i doubt her answer would be yes.
Did you even watch the whole video? If yes, tell me what is Amala talking about, and then point out how this comment has nothing to do with the video.
@@nochanceatall are you dumb? IM TALKING ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT. not Amala. taylor has consistently talked about being a feminist so the question would be posed to HER. good critical thinking skills you got there bud
@@nochanceatall the comment was posed to taylor swift… try reading the title of the video honey. very obviously i wasn’t talking about Amala. good critical thinking skills bud!
@@nochanceatall dumba**
@@urmotha976 you are very smart. Nowhere did I mention you are talking about Amala. But Amala here is supporting Taylor Swift, using her critical thinking skills. Which you are clearly not capable of.
she is brainwashing those little girls. Parents should be ashamed.
Oh yeah? In what way?
I don’t think any parents are ashamed!
@@13TheTorturedPoetsDepartment13 Yup, Parents with shitty kids are rarely ashamed.
I listen to her because she objectively analyzes videos and doesn't let her beliefs or background determine her opinion! She is very factually based and not to mention has a great vocabulary and a good way of framing the topic at hand! Well done IMO!
A fake Christian and a cultural appropriator. Also, not a Tenneesean.
But unfortunately, the fans didn't take the meaning, just that line. That's the dad part
Didn’t her father get her started, set up and continues in the success of Taylor? That’s the biography I read. I think that awesome but I think taylor swift is not understanding. Anyway….
Do people on the right never watch videos and intrepret lyrics correctly anymore? What happened to being logical lol
Yes he did. He invested huge in big machine records at a time when the label was failing Scott's only condition was sign his daughter
Taylor is a narcissist
And you are pathetic
really? the lowest form of criticism is “you can do better”
I honestly believe as taylor swift gets older…as she hits the wall…ultimately she will regret her familyless fame…no kids no husband…and she will just wish to go back to that song “love story” where it more or less all began and want that life in that song…i honestly fear for her at 50-55 she will be rich but in the end sad lonely depressed and miserable wondering what coulda been if she never became famous.. but also never taking blame or recognizing her faults
She will reap what she has sown.
Are you a fortune teller?
@@user-zw7fd6ss3t yes
Why do you guys genuinely believe only female artists should feel this 😂
@@youtubelurker8120 nope happens to alot of dudes end up OD or suicide
Not her again. I'm so sick of her , she is on every post and every account. And i don't get the hype
Taylor is a puppet
A lesbian (allegedly) clown
Lets more talk about her dad and how her album sales are massively manipulated
Good job, Amala. You listened carefully and responded intelligently.
We all need to respond, rather than react.
Blind leading the blind!
I just can’t stand Taylor swift.
Okay?
That is NOT how I heard that but this makes so much sense
Theres this one song that got banned in schools because of one lryic this song was called blurred lines, and the line that got everyone angry was "i know you want this" everyone thought that the song was pro rape, when the dude who sang it, came and said that, that was not what the song was about just the blurred lines between a good girl and bad girl, he even said it was about his wife i believe, but everyone was so convinced that their theory was right, that they denied his debunking. Not sure with the actual meaning is still bad this just reminds me of that.
The Blurred Lines situation was so stupid, definitely a case of people reading something that wasnt there and acting offended. Literally every other part of the song is about establishing that this woman is doing things that makes him think she's into him and he's telling HER to come get him if thats the case.
Also the infamous music video was designed by a women and her female aid, she thought the women being doted over was attractive and empowering.
I don't care much for the song for other reasons, but pointing these facts out would definitely get indignant people mocking you for daring to challenge their narrative.
Yay another thing that my kids will not be listening to.
Okay?
Didn't the "patriarchy" accelerate her fame and popularity?
It's amazing how many people don't understand what the patriarchy is and who willfully misunderstand anyone who mentions it.
The patriarchy?
The people who believed in her and put her where she is ?
Do males just not watch the video before commenting anymore 😂
@@youtubelurker8120Maybe I heard something you didn’t. But then I’m not indoctrinated.
@@MrSmithUKmore like men she boinked
Your interpretation (or the message) is a little funny. Your implying a contradiction that if you say F the patriarchy you want to protect women when the patriarchy does protect women. Under a patriarchy. Men go to war, work the most dangerous jobs, and even the saying "women and children 1st" is a reference to the Titanic where most men died to allow women to live.
But feminists don't believe that, for them the patriarchy is some kind of boogie man that's always trying to oppress women, so the guy in the song having a f the patriarchy keychain while mistreating his younger girlfriend paints him as a hypocrite, which is what the lyrics are trying to convey
I have never been a Taylor Swift fan just can't get over how every song sounds so similar to her other songs. My Parents who liked her music were confused and asked why I didn't. I told them she is the "One Note Wonder" and that's when she had just started her career. She can say and do what she wants, but I just don't have to pay attention to her or listen to her music. That's my choice. People are too sensitive these days about all this and need to take a chill pill.
lol, I didn’t know “Lover” and “My Tears Ricochet” sounded the same. Be so for real, she literally changes genres every other year, by definition at least four of her albums sound COMPLETELY different from each other.
Is everyone forgetting there was a meeting for faceless execs about using celebrities to influence certain demographics, her being one of the first mentioned in that meeting by the young woman making the proposal, and which two weeks later said singer suddenly turned political like it was magic? Anyone can watch that video right now
what you do not notice they are only chanting ONLY that Line
No they sing the whole song
It's a clip of them trying to prove their argument buy essentially only showing one clip of Taylor and her fans saying that part they're not chanting only that part they sing the entire song I've seen the entire video
That would be a problem with the fans not with Taylor Swift herself, the lyrics are clear in their message, it's not her fault her fans interpret it wrong (or maybe it is since her fanbase is composed of 12 year olds)
This is why I find it so ironic when conservatives say that leftists are snowflakes. Like y’all are the same. Stop pretending like you’re any different.
We're all flawed, broken, imperfect, and messed up + ALL of us. When one sees that, they rise above thtowing blame and counterblame. I'm just waiting for you to get there, with love and respect.
Much appreciated for keeping everybody honest!
I'm not listening to her song long enough to find all that out.
It sounds like she's galvanizing a bunch of young angry feminists in her delivery.
Society stuck on stupid. Ben Shapiro has something excellent to say about Taylor Swift, she's age 34 influencing teenagers living the teenager life. The failure to grow up.
Swift might be immature, but she's no fool. She knows who her audience is, which is why she's 34 and her net worth is estimated at over a billion.
@@ZBM-jj1xr, what gets to me is how long it takes for most of us to wake up and stop being fools to celebrities.
I don't think making major decisions like re-recording all her previous albums or releasing new work and doing a major "best of" your celebrating her long career is acting like a teen. 🤷
He's also wrong that her music is only teen pop. That's what her biggest hits are so she sings them. Just like Bryan Adams is still singing about the summer of 69. (When he was 8?)
She has other stuff. I loved Folklore. And I'm not a fan by any means. And I think the fuss and paying $$$$ to see her is nuts.
I don't know her, so I can't say why she's "unlucky in love" but she's ONE WOMAN. The obsession with her love life from fans and detractors is weird AF.
She is still overrated
How is tossing the keys to her demeening?
The patriarchy made her a billionaire
No children mid thirties very sad life
Get off the internet, Grandma
She seems like she's having a good time to me
She is traveling the world, living a life in luxury, never having to worry about money, doing what she loves. Sounds like a sad and depressing life.
I have seen much more miserable women her age married and with kids. She seems to be having a pretty good life out there
Sorry but I wouldnt really call travelling the world with thousands of fans screaming your name a sad life.
Is she sad or is she privileged? People on the right cant decide
I think so many people hate her because she represents everything they fear. She is a very successful, beautiful woman, who has an opinion and is very good at what she does. She has also now found a relationship that seems to make her happy but has shown no signs of settling down to have kids. I think there are just some people out there who can not stand seeing a woman this successful and happy.
Frrrrr
Amala, your interpretation of the lyrics is perfect
it’s the irony
I don’t agree with everything that Amala says but I appreciate her level headedness
People love to hate Taylor especially those who never take the time to actually listen to the words of the songs.
I just hate her because of her style of music (I hate pop). So I don't really understand the hate...but then I also don't get the hype Swifties have of her :-/
“Oh wow another break up song where she blames the guy i wonder how this one will be different to the other 250”
The big problem is how people are quick to seek out idols and aggrandizing people who don't fight our wars, grow our food, and pave our roads. People don't just listen to Taylor Swift's songs, they put her in place of God.
She doesn’t only write songs about her exes or her boyfriends
The man, soon you’ll get better, it’s nice to have a friend, Ronan, I can do it with.
