The more I think about it, the more I realise - this guy genuinely is head over heels, infallibly, and unapologetically in love with what he does. He has given himself completely over to his craft, and doesn't for one second seem to look back. Don't let his genius intimidate you, let his drive inspire you - it's not often we see people so passionate about their work, and I'm thankful I saw this.
I like people who do unexpected interdisciplinary work. I have a friend in the UC Berkeley PhD for school of Architecture. But his work is with lab rats because he is interested in the way light works and is processed, so that he can make new building materials. He has a Master's and BS, though, in Aerospace Engineering. So much interdisciplinary activity leads to interesting cross-pollination.
@@HarshYadav2004 Nope, life happened. Had some rough patches, depression etc, eventually started a tech startup). I don't have plans to pursue a bachelors or PhD anytime soon though.
He is at Coursework stage. Coursework is easy. The harder part will be exams and putting together a do-able research project. But, really, there is a lot of down time during the PhD.
Hello. In a month I’ll be entering undergrad school(civil engineering). And don’t want to waste a time and miss deadlines like I did during high school. Can u please tell what is needed to get into mit grad school? Like I know that it’s more that just gpa and test scores. And that research and internship are valued more. Can u please tell what else is important for portfolio and what year do people usually start doing these things. What’s the ideal planning by years for undergrad school.(ex first year start research, third year start volunteering at working field etc) Please share with me every single detail. As back in hs I didn’t even know that there were exams like sat and ielts. And had to take a gap year to meet the deadlines.
Hi Justin! Our academic advising team might be able to help give you the specific details year-by-year that you are looking for. You can reach out to them for a free consultation here: crmsn.tv/FreeConsultation. In the meantime, yes, there is lots more than GPA and test scores: graduate schools like seeing research in the field you are interested in and either paid or volunteer working experience in settings like their program. Are you looking to go to grad school for civil engineering, or some other field? Good luck!
Social Security also needs to be adjusted for inflation for each year contributed up until time of collection, and the citizen or perminant resident can access their business payment check, anytime after 120 months of full time work, regardless of whether or not they are collecting Social Security or not.
A beneficial bill in Congress is an Amendment to the Constitution limiting total taxation of the citizen or perminant resident to 9%. No more than 3% federal income tax, no more than 3% state sales tax including toll roads, and no more than 3% local taxes. Homeowner property tax and the land that it's on will be outlawed. Social Security will remain at 6.2% Social and 1.45% Medicaid, along with the employers matching contribution in the employees name. Another good bill for our Congressman is for Uncle Sam to award all employers, employees, self employed, government employees and military personnel between $200,000 and $3 million in a lump sum after 120 months of full time work, part time included in the total, regardless of the number of employers worked for, for the citizens business start-up or already existing business. The dollar amount issued will be determined by the size and scope of the business, plus education and work experience. The citizen must spend at least 75% of funds issued on their business. This is a Grant, not a loan. The printing and issuance of money is validated by any legitimate labor and productivity for society. The citizen pays the government and the people back by only operating their business and paying taxes. Also another bill for Congress is to mandate U.S. Banks to pay their depositers at least 85% of all interest collected, because it was the depositers money that was loaned out to begin with. Uncle Sam and the Federal Reserve Bank needs to increase all depositers bank accounts according to the inflation rate (consumer price index) put out every quarter and every year by the U.S. Department of Labor. Government and military personnel will not be necessary because they are already accounted for on their paycheck. If you'd like to, contact your Christian Coalition, Reform Party, Tea Party U.S. Congressman or whatever Congressman or Senator you happen to believe in for an exceptional bill in Congress.
You can always do those things anytime after college, don't need to pay tuition to chase girls lol On the other hand you pretty much have one chance to not screw up your GPA and/or your potential career options
This dude has the same mannerism as Terrence Tao although I don't think he's at Tao's level of genius yet, a Field's medal winner, although I may have to eat my words if he eventually goes on to win a Nobel prize!🤣
Let's ask all those PHD students at MIT to lower interest rates, find a solution to over spending on Military budgets, find a way to build houses that don't start at 400k, come up with a viable way to lower college cost(Especially Grad schools), cancel campaign contributions, Gerrymandering and restructure the prison system. If they can't do that then playing piano and writing a dissertation is not beneficial. We have enough PHD(S) and no one will ever out play Thelonious Monk!
"no one will ever out play Thelonious Monk" You might want to listen to these guys called Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson sometime. Monk was the superior composer, but as a pianist he's not on the same planet as either of those two.
@@abdulrahmanraheem423 I AM a jazz pianist, and I assure you that as a technical pianist, NO ONE, classical or jazz, had Tatum's ability, and certainly not Monk. Tatum was a virtuoso who could play anything, effortlessly. He didn't compose, but he didn't need to. When other jazz legends give a musician the nickname "God", that's a pretty good indication that he's the best. Monk wasn't in his class as a pianist.
Non of those issues need a PhD student to solve them. High interest, overpriced housing, gerrymandering and the prison system are all cause by corporations. We need to elect officials that won't be swayed by money. The faster we do that, the faster we'll see change in the issues you've brought up. Let the PhD students pursue what they love and focus on the real evil.
