I loved the piece of yours after the beginning, but before the review. Love the way you play. It's so interesting to see a younger cat, who wasn't around when the D-50 or Juno 60 and 106 came out, trying to relate to these 'recreations' in a modern context. It just seems like an Earthman going into a department store on Alpha Centauri - there's so much stuff that went down when they came out, that older cats (like me) remember how they made their splash with something that was NEW, never heard before, when they came out. But you point out something very interesting, in trying one or two patches, and judging whether they would fit into today's musical context, be usable in your beats. Music changes; now we're swamped with a new VST every few days. Back IN the day, when these dropped, they were Very Special evenTs. Similar to when a Sly record came out - it was news for, like a month or more! And judging a D-50 by 2 sounds may be harsh. It was known, again, when it came out, for it's wide breadth of sonic possibilities, right when folks were getting tired of DX-7's. It blended these new transient type of front ends to a sound, (which by now everyone is used to - Roland includes them on everything they made since 1985 practically!) but then it was something else - especially when layered with their SA virtual analog 'waves' - which were a step up from the DX-7's more crystalline FM sparkly tines and tones.
I love what you play. Thank you and Respect.
I agree with you Tommy! Those sounds still sound killer. What I remember was how wide the stereo field was in that board!
30 Roc's genius video brought me here. Great review bro. Liked & Subbed, keep doing your thing
Dresjay appreciate it bro
The review I needed. Good looking fam
Score_ Sнaĸυr i make beats hit the link appreciate it fam
Dope review fam... may have to get on board with Roland
KnockSquared yea bro it’s a great arsenal to have
Nice video showing off the new Roland keyboard. It sounds really good. I almost thought you were gonna' take me to church with those Sonic-esque keys, bro. 🎹🎹🎶😄😄🔥🔥 Thanks for the video. Way to up your production repertoire. 👍👍 God bless always 🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
You kno gotta show my skills lml
You snookered me :) kept expecting to hear how it compares to Omnisphere. I’m waiting for Zenology Pro since I have 2 Roland Zencore Engine devices the System 1 and the MC-101 Groovebox. Supposedly Pro will have a Patch Editor that will let you create patches and load them into any Zencore Engine device from the MC-101 on upto the Fantom.
bro i just subed but i want to sujest some things like whenyou make vids before shooting u should decide that when in video what presets aur sample to use anyways much love brother
Sounds good in your hands👍
All super high leads. Would of been cool to hear these played in a lower octave.
Tommorow the cloud is mine, its amazing for litele money a lot of plugins.
These are honestly the only vsts i use - im almost entirely dawless, but i like the feeling of using vintage synths
Very helpful video, thank you so much. I never heard a Jupiter 8 before, though I have heard songs from the 80's using it. I am trying out the Jupiter X right now. There are so many sounds and choices that it is a bit over whelming. I actually printed out all the sounds, put them in a three ring binder and highlighted the ones I liked best along with comments. I say that because even though it makes sense to use the Soundcloud instead of spending so much money on a keyboard, there are just so many keyboard emulations to learn with the Cloud that it could take 6 months to a year. It would make sense for me to keep the Jupiter X and after learning it, use its quality keyboard and action to at some point use the Roland Cloud at a later date to try out all the other sounds. Since there are so many good VST software emulations like Ivory II for piano , I'm not sure how much I would need all these older classic keyboard sounds however
Their best!
Your desk bro!!! OMG!!!
Thanks bro
The analog noise is the chorus button just switch it off 😊
Omnisphere is unique and really good, but Roland cloud is also amazing. There is no better or worse, both are complimentary (if you can afford it!)
Couldn't agree more!
It all depends on how you set the filters
The orchestra vst isa beast for scoring
I never tried it for scoring ima try that soon
Nice review. My question after using Roland Cloud Ultimate for two months is whether I need Roland Cloud. When you have NI Komplete Ultimate and some additional VSti like eg IK sampletank or Arturia synths or... and some free synths, you have more than enough. Roland Cloud was too little exciting to buy it and regarding the fact that most synths sound outdated and the fact that hence it´s still too expensive, just no! A reasonable pricing would be 80 usd for Ultimate membership and about 35 usd / synth, then maybe I d buy 2 synths (Promars and System-8) , but really do not urgently need them. Roland simply has joined the plugin market too late without offering some exciting inovations. Zenology is not even better than Xpand!2 for me.
Roland cloud is cool if you want like retro sounds but I’m pretty sure Arturia is better with more libraries. Roland Cloud is massively ram heavy.
How are you able to use it in logic without it lagging?
Thanks for the review roland cloud is so secretive
No problem! I’ve had it for a while thought I’d do it!
Bro, no real info on there site.. Its weird
I've been waiting for Roland to do a vintage software package. I own the rackmount versions of the MKS 20, MKS 70, D550, JV 880, Sound Canvas and I use a Super JX synth as a controller in my man cave studio & laboratory. Strictly midi old school!
Question is: Does this package provide the original vintage library sound patches? And if so, then I'm on board! Any sincere advice is welcomed..
The music in your intro got some fire on it.
Truthing & Trolling thanks bro made it myself
Since this video is three years old, it would be nice to see update as to whether you actually use it today.😁🎶🎹🎵Play On
Ok I’ll do an update. I have other videos on my channel as well
Hi, do you know if it is even possible to change the VST sounds directly from a midi controller? I couldn't make the MIDI program change to work for this :/
What midi controller do you have
Dude what sort of processing power and RAM specs one needs to put down multiple tracks with the Cloud stuff?
At least 16 at max 64gb
16 is sufficient. But yeah the more the merrier
whats that warp sound preset?
Great video! Unfortunately they got my 19.99 and I can't download anything except the Cloud Manager. I have a really nice music computer that works with nearly everything but Roland. Keep getting error messages since the latest upgrade. I'll stick with their hardware if I need one of their sounds, not by choice. Buyer beware.
Yea, sucks. The system-8 doesn't do anything but early 80s synth pop without the Cloud. Really having buyers remorse right now. Should have trusted my guy and bought a real roland like the JD-XA or Fantom. Smh
Does a person have to use roland products to work the plug-ins or can I use like my keys from akai and native instrument?
No
You can use any midi controller with the Roland cloud
Bro how this collection is comprare with Arturia V collection. I have the Arturia and they sound awesome too!!!
I need to try Arturia
@@jfreshbeatz_ Right now they have a Black Friday Sale full collection for 300dls normally cost 600dls.
@@alfredolopeznieto9444 ok that’s not bad!! Thanks fam
@@alfredolopeznieto9444 are they sturdy processing wise. Roland is CPU heavy and will crash after 2-3 plug-ins
Pro tip Splice Has a Few Rent To Own Plugin Options and it comes with a Demo
Personally Im paying towards Pigments Serum Arturia V and Korg Collection only thing is u can better deal on a few if u cash out as mentioned while its a sale Personally I rather spend 40-60 a month towards plug-in that ill eventually own than dropping over 1k at one time
Canceled my subscription and now I want it back..it does lack in presets but more coming out.
ChazSeamus28 yea but the sounds are amazing
Triton vst vs Roland Cloud ?
Ill Do That One Thats A Good Idea
how do u use roland cloud with logic pro?
It’s like a plug-in just load it up as you would a regular audio unit
12:11 Donda "hurricane"
I love all Roland's synths and have many of their modules, synths and expansion boards - but Omnisphere is in a class of it's own: that being said i'm just about to by a clatter of Roland's software synths :D.
I've had omnisphere for some time now but dont use it as much because the stock sounds just sound too digital for me even with the "analog sounds" ... when you say it is on a class of its own, what have you found is the best way to get the most out of it? Spent all this money and I seldom find usable sounds I'm sure its probably me doing something wrong
does this have the fantom x as a vst
Not in this bundle they have a contact version
@@jfreshbeatz_ I’ve been trying to find that but it’s not the full versions of fantom…do you have a link
@@arcademcFLy follow me on ig @jfreshbeatz and we’ll link up
I don't know what it can beat. But this system-8 is a paper weight without cloud and im not paying $20/mo. Just gonna sell it for a real synth like the JD-XA or Fantom where I don't have to pay a monthly fee to use it.
Facts i Dont Like monthly fees and Roland Cloud is def CPU Heavy
not a fan of omnisphere and ive had it for years. trilian yes. omnisphere no. i do love roland synths though.
hardware's best...vst latency so great..
nothing can beat OMNISPHERE. Thats why every producer tries to compare other plugins to it. Omnisphere is the only vst that can play a piano, guitar(as if it was purity) and then make synths. It comes with lots of presets, you can add banks and high quality.
Not nearly the only VST nor the best at all those things. Omnisphere is not great at most acoustic/realistic sounds for instance.
Equator2 can do those same sounds
SYSTEM CO totally ignored the cables!!! LOL didnt change ONE cable!! yello? you can MAKE those sounds with the cords. its a synth from the 70s rthat had REAL cords.
srx keyboards or orchestra?
yes!!
@@jfreshbeatz_ wich one
@@likeshevy691 it has both in the bundle
JV 2080 sound inclusive cards inside?
Yes
@@jfreshbeatz_ i searched a lot.... where can i can find infos about that?
@@anotherwolff3650 I misread im sorry it’s just the jv 1080
@@anotherwolff3650 about the jv 1080 or the 2080?
@@jfreshbeatz_ the 1080 and the 2080 using the srjv sound boards: i am interestet in the sounds of these boards.
My Cloud isnt even opening lol
6:30 beautiful
The D50, jv1080, jx3p are great.
The juno 106 and jupiter 8, not so much (cheap sounding). REALLY bad cpu optimization on these plugins, you play one chord and your cpu will spike.
Omnisphere has the benefit of just one GUI to learn and tbh better filters.
Nice video my man
Thanks fam the the first three are the only ones I use now
For the 106 plugin, CPU remains a constant 7.3% on my gaming pc (AMD Ryzen 7 3700X)
If you can’t make it I the regular world, just show out. 👍🏾
Pro trick: watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Cullen Gunnar yup, have been using flixzone for since december myself :)
@Cullen Gunnar Definitely, I've been using Flixzone for since december myself :D
So basically no detectable difference from Arturia’s 10 year old emulations
This happen to me today installing an uninstalling the Roland cloud I install the new Zencore plugin and I decided to uninstalling and it took time to uninstall at the end I noticed that erased all my 1T HD were it was installed I don't trust Roland any more
Raymond Borrero oh wow I’m so sorry that happened
@@jfreshbeatz_ Roland they have grate sounds on real hardware but for PC users they are guivin sh@&t for subscriptions lot of issues of compatibility for PC plugin s and daw
Raymond Borrero Bro that is terrible they need to do better
It's not ready for everyone yet and there's no recourse/refunds.
Roland is shit now. I really am PISSED I sold by Fantom X. It was one of the best roland synths I ever used. Had heft to it. Was hardy. Great sounds. Unlimited possibilities. Now I'm here with this toy called System-8 that only makes 80s synth pop without paying $20/month. Fuckin joke of a company.

Short answer after using Omnisphere for a decade and Roland for about 5 months, Hell no.
Omnisphere is already beaten, but not by Roland :)
Who you got?
@@inksationalscreenprinting1266 There are many options. For me the Korg Collection (v2) or Avenger or Synthmaster 2.9 (updates coming in near future) is much better than Omni. But it's just my oppinion. For another person the opposite still can be true :)
@hairypatchboy In the korg collection there's Triton, M1 and Wavestation. These are capable to layer sounds, or split them on the keyboard. For example Triton have a heap of super good sounds (if you like that style) for the fraction of the size of Omnisphere. You can set different midi channels, different zones, Triton has more than 4000 sounds, and the whole thing is much much smaller than Omni. Check this video for some cool sounds you can also find in the vst plugin : ua-cam.com/video/YBFrnPgcBp4/v-deo.html
@@222quiet "hi quality, ":READY TO USE" sounds.. In other words... GREAT for the talentless.. and then a bunch of other people will have your SAME sound in THEIR songs! LOL
@@222quiet To me, Omisphere has alot of sounds that are unusable! I bought it twice and sold it twice! I think its very overated.. Yea it has some good patches in it, and nice quality, but its not worth the price IMO!
I really think roland sound better than omnisphere's imitation 😢
No
Good video but it's just more useless sounds !
Depends on What Your Looking For
harmor can beat omnisphere
why do you feel this way if i may ask? thanks
Thats interesting How So
Worthless trainwreck. Uninstalled.
Thats what it looks like... Ill save my 💰
