Despite the animation choice my brother and I really enjoy this film. It wasn’t even that bad. The only sad thing about this movie is that Warner Bros. didn't tried to push the marketing for this movie at all. They clearly didn't have any faith in this movie because they're only focusing on the two upcoming live action movies.
@patrickmcguire7896 One of them is that Gollum movie. "In its press release, Warner Bros. disclosed a working title for the movie, “The Hunt For Gollum,” with Serkis at the helm-Serkis played the titular character Gollum in the original trilogy and in Jackson’s later prequel trilogy “The Hobbit,"
I don't even care about the quality of the movie. I'm just sad that this movie's failure will basically doom any hope of more big 2D animated releases like that.
I love Tolkien's works and this is a movie I was not expecting and had hope. Its style is not bad per say but the story from the books is better than the adaptGollu. Another movie called Hunt for Gollum which will also come out just forgot when also is being produced. In the story Gandalf and Aragorn both play a huge role along with Thranduil and obviously Gollum. Hope they get the voice over to be done by the actors from the movie.
It breaks my heart that this movie was a bomb 😢. I love animation and this one looked so good but the story just killed it! I have nothing again female leads but this whole thing was formulaic as hell
Hmmm… I do not think so. As this one was going for a little more clear demographic with LotR (and somehow specifically, Peter Jackson type) and anime fans. But, it possibly and unintentionally did not pleasing no one, in any angle. Even, not one including you are describing.
"salty fanboys" Well, there have been lots of criticism against it. That being said, there's more people defending the movie than RoP. I personally think the art style and character designs look good. That's an advantage it has. Unlike most modern slop the character designs are actually good, which is a huge improvement. However, that can't save the film's story or being a bad adaptation.
Look as a Lord of the Rings fan and I mean huge fan of this franchise War of the Rohirrim is a movie I'll watch occassionaly unlike the Hobbit and LoTR trilogy. I recently watched it yesterday and was excited only to come out a bit disappointed. For the most part this movie felt a bit boring I mean is is titled War of the Rohirrim but we only get wat a few attacks on settlements and just one battle and a seige that has been done way and I mean way better in Two Towers and Return of the King. Idk just feel a bit let down after soo long of hearing a this film years ago but I will still like it and watch it of course but just feel disappointed. Honestly in anime stlye looks fantastic but maybe fix it up a bit soo it can look proper and not a stream movie which this should've been and theater release. But if they were to start making stories on Middle Earth with this style u can probably do sooo much more. A movie based on the on the first age of Middle Earth, the war against the first dark lord Morgoth or could borrow from Rings of Power and tell the story there and maybe do better idk there is just sooo much they could do but who knows if they will do it or not.
art was okay but had low frame rate issue (I liked Haleth action scene), and also the things you criticise about Helm were in the appendix, he basically became crazy beserk mode from his sons death and wasn't considering to spare his life but just was going to die in the midst of battle fury, so I don't think your criticsm was valid but a bit harsh.
I would say that it feeled good to see, but it´snt the way to go with future proyects, or at least, there is a lot to make best even in the animation (cof cof the transicions are sometimes awful) I pardon it in the eyes of a trainer, the mediocretity is actually good if you work to make better, because you have arleady understanding at least the elements to make the basics and over with some time win more abilities to write. Also, another thing... the villain was an totally idiot, seriusly, i cant feel any danger, because from a strategic form of view its literally a joke, his best chance was complety loose, literaly the only thing that manteining it alive, from this channel and me its his commander, the only person in his army with two brain cells.

Glad you liked it. And your right WB sucked with advertising this movie. What Live action movies do they have coming out?

True. The only reason I know it exists is fan videos like this.

It doesn't matter anyway. WB made this movie only so they won't lose their permit.
@@valentinkambushev4968 damn... and here I thought someone got through their tick head and convinced them an animated movie was a good idea...
I didn't even know when it released.
It was released on December 13
the art style is beautiful. I love the 80s art style!

I did think the movie was good but I do see myself not going back to it as a rewatch
The thing of the villain and the protagonist knowking themselfs in the childhood ends like some part that they forget to recort from the movie.
this proves 'animation is cinema' is bs because it only focus on children's films and not actual animated films like this
