Hi Max. As an Irishman, I can say that "twca-cam" is unintelligible to me. The phrase is Welsh, which is on a separate branch (no pun intended) of the family of Celtic languages. The Irish language is a form of Gaelic, which is also a Celtic language. Great Video!
Loving it! Thank you very much for not getting agitated over this! The celtic culture and languages, art and craft are highly intriguing and I appreciate clearing this up! Nic being located in Wales should have been enough clue for me and I didn't want to throw all these cultures into one pot! My apologies! I'll pin this comment for everyone to see! Cheers
My first nic westerman tools are being made what a long wait but so worth it think it was over 3 years super excited! Got this one his sloyd and a small carving blade for my figure carving! Wish I had more money at the time but back on the list I go!
@@woodsmansfinest3814 thank you your videos have helped me so much over the years and I'm so in love with your axe I bought hoping to get the wayfarer as well!
That's a great looking tool. I don't think that I am far enough along for an awesome tool like that, but I love seeing what is out there. Thanks for sharing!
Doesn't hurt to get on the waiting list for a tool like that for free and then in a year when it is your turn to order any of his tools you can still pass!
Greetings from North Carolina Max. Great video. I am getting on the waiting list. I carve spoons out of Ash that has been killed by the Emerald Ash borer. I want to carve bowls now. Appreciate your videos. Thanks. Dave
Hi Dave! I'm familiar with that problem as I have lived a few years in Ontario and we slowly saw the arrival of that pest. I think you'll dig this tool for exactly this purpose, in combination with an adze and wide bowl gouge... Guess what's coming up here in the next few weeks? Thanks for supporting the channel! Cheers
I've just put my name down on the list, and with having to wait will give me time to save for the three blades I'd like. Plus having that time my skill will improve enough to be worthy of using them haha.
Much appreciated for stopping in and saying high! All support is helping. A video like this takes about 20h to produce! All the best down to beautiful Argentina!
Thanks for the video / review. Little surprised to see you recommending beaver craft on your Amazon link. Not sure I’ve seen much good said of that brand let alone design copying issues. Have you considered / tried wood tools products - I think they are idea balance of cost / quality / performance to get started.
Different sizes, solid inside, integral tang. Nic is one of my best friends. I didn't set out to copy his work but I used my own decade of carving experience to design what I like. Steel is bearing steel. Comes with hafts and leather sheaths. Cheers
Hello again Brother, Max you made a comment re the 50mm - 65mm differences in their applications and uses being fairly different. Could you elaborate on that? Maybe do a separate video on the 65mm? Sating pros and cons of one over the other for different types of work/projects etc. Cheers
Sure. That was the plan. A video like this take 20h to make with all the different locations, editing, music, rendering, upload etc... I got a patreon account set up in the description... I'll make UA-cam a weekly thing again, but I need to make it work somehow... Otherwise I can't spare the time... The list for Videos is full... It's crazy
Yes I am quite fortunate. I forged with Nic together though and can just say that these do take a long time but are worth it. Nothing comparable out there
I just realized you are my first patreon! This is huge for me! Thank you! Are you aware that you just paid one third of my music subscription, so I can keep putting fun music on my videos? Thank you so much on a personal and business level! Cheers
@@woodsmansfinest3814 Hi Max, glad I could help by supporting you and it is great to be the first one though I hope you can get much more supporters ASAP! ;-) Thanks for the great content you are putting out and keep up the great work!

I love my Westermann tools, and have to add that Nic is a fantastic guy. Met him in person last spring and had a great chat. I'd advise anyone who isn't aware to check out Hewn & Hone on youtube. It is a company formed by Nic, Alex Yerks, and Don Nazelty. They have fantastic instructional videos on sharpening and edge geometry.

Hi Mr Max Man. THANKS for the info bye for now..
I appreciate you stopping bye! Cheers
Seeing that you now have your own TWCA available, how does it compare to the Westerman?

You are luck to have one of these. I’ve been on the list for 18 months now and haven’t
Had any response yet.

Hi Max the Amazon link is not working for me, could you please verify if it is OK? Thank you.
Thank you for the really crucial feedback! I pressed it, and it seems to work just fine! Let me know please!
Btw : it's a link to my page on amazon.com. Try the other link for the European access please!
