Michele’s inspiration for this collection spans several centuries. From 18th century France to modern streetwear. Quite impressive. Gucci has become a force to be reckoned with. When I worked for Gucci, Frida was the designer and there was no buzz. Boring stores, boring clothing, boring accessories, boring customers and stagnant sales. I wish I stayed with Gucci to see this renaissance. That employee discount would have come in handy since the price points have soared into the stratosphere.
Gucci is the only mainstream fashion brand that has successfully achieved gender fluidity/neutrality with their clothes. This is the future of fashion and if nobody is taking notes they are really falling behind.

Unsettling and disturbing, like the '' Eschaton''. Described variously in several religions, which teach that world events will reach a final climax. Pure maximalism. The music heroic, the mood apocalyptic and the models like a strange squad of the last soldiers on earth. Crazy and impressive at the same time!
Absolutely, a weird succesful mixture of Nazi Germany and Victorian Vampires combined with 70nerdy. for a breath of fresh air. I would absolutely wear some of these. Eternal life mixed with . . . hell and technology and spring. Marvelous contradictorious . . . and very soothing relaxing music. Congrats on that!
Also, the audience is seeing the looks from the side and never get a frontal view. The camera work and editing is really bad as well. Great collection (even though it's hard to see it)

With the current lines and the recent 'The Future is Fluid' campaign video, Gucci is giving us the androgynous future we young people want. A lot of people negging on Gucci for how they're changing, but fashion and our idea of beauty is changing, and I love that Gucci is keeping up.

This collection truly changed my mind. After the spring summer 2019 fashion show, I almost gave up on the creative merit of Alesandro Michele. It seemed like he lost his abilities to design new and surprising work and was just recycling and rearranging some of his older pieces in impractical ways. With this collection however, I believe Alessandro truly exceeded himself in all the best ways possible. It was striking, sharp and eery and felt fresh all while still being in line with Gucci's established "70's" esthetic. Alessandro, you go man!
Gucci needs to release lossless versions of the soundtracks they use for their shows. The music is amazing, and the percussion really adds a sort of subdued intensity other recordings on youtube don't have.
Am I the only one feeling a bit underwhelmed by this one? Not saying there aren't some typically-Michele-genius ideas here. But, just overall it fell kinda flat for me...
Fredrik Munster the concept along with the official show invitation was sooo good. But, this didn’t reflect that at all. Perhaps his mind was clouded with that ridiculous discrimination scandal...I guess we’ll never know.
Looking at the masks and a good few of the outfits referencing the venetian carnival as well as 16th century powerful shoulders enhanced by the inverted triangle of a stomacher, part of me has this strong inkling there was originally a visard or two planned as one of the disguises. But knowing what a visard looks like to contemporary eyes....
Sean Yeo given the invitation, (which I thought was genius ) that referenced a Greek god who represented both male and female parts this could have certainly been a stellar collection. But, to Michelle’s defense he has revived the house and continues to intrigue us. So, while this one may not be a win, atleast he’s a authentic designer.
