Great comment about the moisture column. What good is releasing the pressure plates if you can’t release the moisture column from the cab? That will lead to a lot of missing moisture pads and bent moisture fins. That has been my experience when I have failed to open the moisture column. I find it interesting that removed the doffer sensor but maybe you will have less trash accumulations with it gone. Always wondered why the front had one and the back did not.
I think the doffer sensor is gone because we weren’t finding it useful. We’d never have it warn us of an impending block that saved us from getting a block. It used to work well in the old 9940’s. what’s been your experience? We probably never had them set perfectly either.
Just by low RPM alarm as the clutch slips. What's your experience been with the sensor strips, have you saved chokes early enough to not have the clutch slip. Most people I talk to don't think this will be a problem.
@@troysmith7405 we're supplementary irrigation so that sometimes includes irrigating skiprow, so we end up with long laterals that break off and choke the door or shute, especially if you get an early frost, then any branches will break off. I'd say 95% of door chokes don't have the clutch slip, just the doffer alarm goes off and we can pull up in time. 9976 with pro16 we're only doing 3.9mph so a fair bit slower than the new machines can go, maybe that's part of it.

I'd like to see 12 row heads, (fronts) on those harvesters.
A few people talk about going wider instead of faster. Interesting thought.
Looks like a great upgrade
@@dewittdirt yeah I agree! Some really good stuff there, what’s your favourite?
How are they sensing door chokes without the doffer flap???

@@andrewhensel3894 that’s interesting. Certainly a fire risk when the doffer is running on that choke too.
@@troysmith7405 yeah definitely, gets warm enough even when doffer sensor goes off
