The latter is students and young people rightfully protesting government recruitment quotas. Maybe do some research next time so you won't look like a cretin.

I think this explains the root cause quite well: According to the census of population of 2022, Bangladesh's population was 165,158,616, and as per the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs in 2023, there were 2,354,467 freedom fighters in the country (there is considerable doubt about the accuracy of this number because it has almost doubled in two years). Thus, the government allocates a quota of 30% in government jobs for families of 0.14% of the population! Besides this quota, there are quotas for the disabled, women, districts, totaling 56%. Considering corruption, nepotism, political favoritism, 75% of the positions are already reserved beforehand. Assuming that 5% of quota recipients are legitimate, the remaining 95% of the population is left with less than 25% of government jobs! Pakistan era, in comparison, had 56% of the population in East Bengal, but in 1962, 20% East Pakistani were in the civil service, 31% in the State Bank, and officers from East Bengal were 1.56% in the Army in 1956, 1.16% in the navy, and 8.57% in the air force. The country was created to protect the interests of the common people, ensuring equal rights for all, but now it is even more dynastic! On the other hand, the government feels no shame in emulating Pakistan's example? And calling us protesters and our ancestors Rajakars (literal meaning war criminals) It could end here but the government is enforcing their student wing to stop us, those are more goons than students (they are called chattro league). Using knife, guns on innocent unarmed students. And the law enforcement agencies are remaining silent and even killed one protester by shooting point blank. Freedom fighters have undoubtedly contributed to the country; they receive pensions. Many have become disabled after the war. Considering all these factors, providing quotas to their second generation was logical, but after 53 years on independence 30% quota for the third generations of freedom fighters is not acceptable. This government is also illegal as they conducted 3 constitutive rigged election. The whole nation held hostage as the law enforcement and military agencies are totally corrupted by this party.
