I need to upgrade my 76 280z’s headlights. At the moment I rely on other cars around me to light the way.
You need to put a high beam low beam relay kit in your car first. This alone will give you
All 12 volts to your lights.
With out the relay up grade the 12 volts go thru the battery thru the fire wall across you dash to the headlight switch then thru the hi lo switch then back across the dash thru the fire wall to the head lights = dull lights.
The relay up grade sends less power thru the switches ( saving them from wearing out more being 40+ yrs old)
And it switches the relays, in the engine bay or by the front grill. Sending 12 volts directly to the healights.
Making what ever you have alot Brighter !
Zcardepot and others have this simple upgrade kit.
I must admit I didn't know that the bulb is integrated in the headlight itself, so thanks for showing us that so I learned again something new 👍. That you didn't know your car has high beams was funny in a good way 😅. But now I shocker for you, because you have now the high beams means only one thing "Midnight run"❤️, try it out it's awesome, because of that I installed on one of my projects car the JDM high beams what are integrated in to the grill 😎. Great video I am looking forward for more 👍👍👍.
@@FixingWithFriends I had years back an 1971 Opel Manta A and it had the normal headlights with replaceble bulbs. That on your car I see now the first time in my life with these type of headlights but I will research that more because I am intrigued with it. And yes I fully agree with you that was a weist of Material Back then and impractical.
I binge watched all your videos on your awesome Z. Now what am I going to watch? Lol.
:43 got up to answer my door 🤣
Czero back at it!
after watching your video on Dapper I ordered and used your CZERO code. 1983 Dat 280zx
What a dream car. I think that one day soon I will sell my integra type r in order to fund a 240Z
Keep the teggy, they're going up in price quite a bit
@@tonyalvarez8507 a 240z shell with just 4 wheels is about the cost of a full running teggy
Those old lights might make cool desk lamps. Great video as always Ish, 240z is looking lit 😅
Upgrade looks great! I’m gonna have to do this to mine 👍🏻
You should really ad a relay to the headlights wiring to get the full potential of those headlamps. Would of worked great on the stock setup as well
Nice work as always 👌🏽
Thank you !!
I was looking at their 7x6 big ooof... I don't have pockets that deep maybe next time lol
Hey I have that same keychron keyboard lol
damn tires are bald.
If you needed ur lights/electrical to see brighter just upgrade your alternator... Anything 100a and above should do the trick... I have a 150a on my 240z
It still looked dim
What size are the 4ea. Installation bolts? The ones that attach the entire assembly to headlight bucket. Car looks great.
Didn't like the way this headlight looked but when It was installed I liked it a lot more. Still prefer the classic look.
@@FixingWithFriends halo lights are overused imo.
@@apollo6139 oh just wait for the next headlamp upgrade 😂😂
@@CZeroMedia ffs 😂
Wow not so simple, after all glad You made this !
Did you ,install a hi beam low beam relay system ?
This takes 12 volts from running thru the switch.
But gives full 12 volts to the head lights.
One thing I know, it bothers you as much as it did me watching.
The head light retainer it's best to scruff with a Green scruff pad.
Spray can paint it with Rust-Oleum Reformer ,it converts and stops rust. How ever it likes to cling to surface rust so don't take off all the rust just the crusty stuff.
Then get a can of Rust-Oleum Hammerite Gold.
It's very tough and resembles the factory chromate Finnish enough to make you feel good.
Final thing zcardepot sells all the hardware if any is broken, rusted or missing.
That is the plastic block that hold the long screw threads.
The long screws, the three short ring retainer screws and even the adjustment spring.
Good video as all ways !!
Back to work on my 2 restomod S30's
I always thought you were in California ?
Not in cold ass Michigan.
I moved from Cold Ass New England to Florida.
I ride my 1982 Kawasaki 550 Cafe Styled bike EVERY DAY till I'm finished building my S30 Resto Mod.
Stop admiring Snow Shovels and move to the HEAT.
As a car/ motorcycle guy
Life is to short ! To live with rust and snow!
Ha! Ha! I wish I had don't it many years earlier all the time I wasted waiting for Spring to enjoy myself !
Just upgrade ur alternator, three wires and ur good to go
Hey was there a coupon code at the end that I missed? Saw that little comment at the beginning of the video but didn’t see any code at the end.
a fellow Michigander, i have a s130 z but i don't know where to start
Start with getting it running, then aesthetics like wheels, flares, paint
FIIIRST!!!!
did you sell your old evo with the green wheels
Bro you should put hid light inside, its very easy to install and the light output would go waay up. You can even choose a white yellow color to keep the vintage look! I think 5000k, 6000k would be too white if you think white looks too modern. Also check if hid would be too hot for housing, dont want to melt anything
Where did you buy the head lights
Yoyoyo
It doesnt look bright to me
Bro hit me up im working on some cool things for evo 8 owners
This Z is so similar to my old Z insta: @kevinnault
Bro they’re not bright at all what are you talking about 😂😂😂
