Late to the party but I just saw your video and I just have to say I love the simplicity of your planner. Wonderful way to record your life. I'm curious to see if you continued planning this way. Thanks again.
Thanks for posting this video. I really appreciated hearing about someone using their Hobonichi for something besides a crazy art/crafting book! I'll be using mine (when it arrives) for Uni (keeping track of assignments) and for the occasional creative outlet -- writing or maybe some water colouring. I'm of the mindset that you don't need a ton of "supplies" to use a planner :) so I appreciated your more straightforward approach. Plus, the fountain pen friendly paper is a major plus!
The English version is black and white pages during the week.and fully red on the weekend. I'm enjoying mine so far.I do like to use fountain pen and although it takes longer to dry in my hobonichi.it doesn't bleed through.watercolours have worked well also.
Ah, thanks for the clarification on the English version colors. :-) I have seen some people doing beautiful watercolors - alas, I am not that talented lol. I have been using Pilot Blue-Black in a fine nibbed Vanishing Point and it's brought dry times to a reasonable level, but wetter nibs can be a bit of a problem for making quick notes...
Great video! I'm not artsy either and will use this as a planner. Where do you put your appointments, such as hair appt, doctor appt, pick up so-and-so at 3:00, school meeting at 7:00
I agree with StarMaiden. every other video is like watching an artist at work. I envy their skills but how is it functional?! Diaries are nice but I really would like to use mine to get things done too. thanks for your video!
+Britny Doane Cool! Yup, I was in Lincoln at the time I recorded this. Not anymore though - I've moved to Virginia now. I do miss Nebraska a bit though, but it was a bit of a wasteland for nice stationery products...

Great video; great advice!
This video was so helpful. I was experiencing notebook paralysis.

UNL, as in University Nebraska at Lincoln? I go to UNO! I don't know anyone locally that uses the Hobonichi!
