Hi! I enjoy your channel. I especially like your reviews of fountain pens. I got into fountain pens about a year ago and really enjoy them. It becomes very addictive!!
Your planning system is very similar to mine! I am kind of a "Gadget Girl" and prefer using my phone for appointments, events, birthdays, etc. I also keep recurring reminders, and notes I need to refer to at any time (e.g. filter sizes for the house, printer cartridge number, etc.) It makes a lot more sense to me to do that than use a Bullet or other planning journal and have to look through a number of pages and then transfer everything when you need to start a new notebook. Everything is of course backed up to the cloud and external drive! I do like to write as well, however. I keep a Filofax Notebook with me at all times where I record what I DID on a particular day - mood, weather, things I accomplished, if I ordered anything, where I went, etc. I like being able to look back on the things I actually did! I also have a "General" less structured section like you where I may record a wine I like, a fountain pen I want to consider, or a drawing of something. I have a calendar section where I record a month of my workouts and habits I want to develop. I have a bigger Leuchtturm 1917 notebook where I write about "feelings," observations, and other more personal thoughts. That stays at home. It is a system that works for me. Like you, I don't like stuffed, unorganized, overhanging notebooks.
What Habit Tracker app are you using. I have tried some, but really haven't liked any of them.

As a retired English teacher, I still keep a detailed notebook. Of course! I keep an all inclusive binder. I am super busy! I thought I was supposed to be rocking on my front porch? I write everything down! I use the bullet system. I have always used the bullet system. If only I had known.....I could have made a fortune! Keeping lists and to do lists and journals frees up your brain for more important tasks. I will make a more detailed and conscious effort for July so I can play along. Oh, and of course I have a knitting journal and notebook for patterns.

I really enjoyed your video! I love that you incorporated your phone. This is something I haven't seen in any of the other OBJ videos. I have been looking for a habit tracker that will allow me to have widgets and I am going to try this one out! Maybe even mention it in my update (:

How do you cut the book down? Not scissors, I presume.

Oh no no no. I have tried to do it with a knife before but that's always a disaster. Now I take my notebooks to a little design/print shop on campus and have them do it. They charge $1/cut and it's always perfect. :-) I've heard that places like Staples and Kinkos will do the same thing, but I've never tried it myself.
