The Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD is a revolutionary wing BCD using the same Monoprene as their Seawing Nova fins for a tough and flexible harness that grips and holds it's position. The modular design of the Hydros make it easy to add and remove sections to change how the BCD functions and weighs so you only need one BCD to be your lightweight travel wing and your tough integrated BC.
    Tough Monoprene
The Monprene® is more durable than conventional materials and has higher resistance to UV, chemical and abrasion damage. The construction and materials has also made the Hydros Neutrally Buoyant with a near-zero inherent buoyancy so you don't have to worry about weight calculations so much.
Monoprene grips to you and your wetsuit so it isn't going to slip and shift when it's on and will dry instantly getting out of the water for a more comfortable kitting up on the 2nd dive.
    Modular
The Hydros has been designed to be modular so you can personalise it to your needs, replace damaged parts and upgrade in the future. By adding or removing weight systems, bungees, D-Rings, accessories and pockets you can customise your BCD so if you need a striped down light travel BCD one day or one with integrated weights and pockets the next you can.
    Features
Ultra Durable: Patented Injection Molded Monprene® Gel Harness is extremely resistant to UV, chemicals and abrasion. The fabric-free harness uses no velcro or zippers.
Instant Dry: Ideal for travel due to less water retention and lower post-dive weight.
"BC-4-Life" Modular Design: Customizable to add/remove weight systems, straps and pouches. Extended lifespan due to simplified repairs. Virtually every component, including buckles, can be replaced without stitching.
3D Ergonomic Design: Conforms to your body shape for maximum comfort.
Lightweight: Advanced materials keep weight low.
Neutrally Buoyant: Near-Zero inherent buoyancy requires less lead, resulting in better buoyancy control and much more enjoyable diving.
Body Grip Gel: Prevents BC from shifting and riding up.
Dual-Compound Backplate: Provides the ultimate in stability and comfort. Single tank band system allows for easier assembly.
Torso Flex Zone: Auto-adjusts to your torso length for excellent comfort and freedom of movement.
Articulated Shoulder Straps: Allow straps to adjust to your body shape to achieve a snug fit.
Kit-Up Assist: Holds shoulder straps open for easy donning.
Cross-Flow Channel: Unrestricted internal airflow reduces air trapping for enhanced maneuverability and easy deflation at any angle.
2-Stage Inflation: Tri-bungee system controls air distribution to maintain a compact shape under water and high lift capacity at the surface.
Dorsal Weight-Wing: Anti-abrasion and instant dry. Optimal "Outboard" trim pockets.
Buckle Weight System: Simple, safe and reliable quick-release buckles offer a fixed location for easy one-hand operation.
Multi-Mount Accessory Matrix: Multiple D-Rings and mounting points for a knife + light + SMB + hoses + crotch strap and much more.
Smart-Pack Design: Folding shoulder and waist straps pack into the wing, creating an unbelievably compact package for easy transport and storage.

I've had this bcd for couple of years. Gradually they've improved certain parts on it like the shoulder straps. I do love mine and had nothing go wrong with it.

I got this bcd and used it 3 days ago for the first time. I have to say great stability, nice fit (little hard material whit only a swimming short) ofcourse their are a lot cheaper BCD’s available. But in my opinion it is an amazing bcd, a lot of extra features for attaching extra pockets, knives or lights. Every attachment does come with a price but my opinion. TOP OF THE LINE!!

After using this BCD for 30 dives I can say it is really great. I don't like the release valve location on the lower left side. Because I use little air in the BCD, the valve handle is sometimes behind the BCD flap(the BCD isn't stretched) and a bit hard to find especially with gloves. I also find the weight inserts holders, somewhat hard to insert if you use 2 eight pound weights. Lately I switched the trim pockets on the back with a 3rd party trim pocket I place on the tanks. At the bottom of the tank. The trim is better this way for me. I think thinner people will find this issue when get the small size. The weight inserts built in pockets fit too high on the body, they should correct that. It causes a bit of a front head down trim balance. With the travel belts it’s perfect

I have 40 dives on mine here in Bonaire. It took a little getting used to but I have come to really enjoy diving with it. I have had to work out a few problems along the way. The first was tipping me face forward as I deplete my air. I played around with tank location which helped but still a problem. I finally put some ankle weights on which did the trick. The other problem I have struggled with is air getting trapped on the bottom right side. There is a dump valve on the left side so no problem there. My wife has one as well and she doesn’t like how it rides up on her hips.

thanks for your input. What are "ankle weights"? Also, just out of curiosity, are you very tall, or short?

@@JeremyUSA I'm 6'3' and 255. Ankle weights are 1,5 pounds and I put one on each ankle. I am trying moving up my tank up on the next dive. Trim is still off.

@@lonnieparsons6068 Yeah, I somehow figured you were tall. I'm 6'4" myself. By the way, I just came from Bonaire. Spent a week diving 2-3 times a day. I'll never, ever forget it. I take it you live there? I envy you to no end.

Hi, One question before buying, how many kilos of lead can fit comfortably in form of shot-bags into the integrated, quick release pockets?

    • @OrionRox
      @OrionRox 5 років тому +1

Mitrafan It can fits a lot. I dive with this BCD in both winter and summer. For the dry suit, I put 15kg of weight, for wet suit in summer, I put 4kg.

Be sure to rinse throughly your dump valves, sometimes little particles of sand can be trapped between the sealing membrane not allowing it to close properly. The same can happen with built up salt.
One trick is to fill the bcd with warm water through the inflator hose (you need to press the inflator button to allow water to come in), give it a good shake to clean the interior bladder and turn it up-side down to empty it (so the “stuck” valve is on the bottom) and then pull the cord while squeezing so the water can (hopefully) push any sand out. Actually this should be a normal process after every dive so you bcd will last for years :)
If this doesn’t work, you can take the valve apart to inspect it if needed (be VERY careful not the loose the o-ring). If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, address your store.

Alright ladies cause this dude thinks we are still living in caves, this BCD is good for WOMEN as well, I have over 200 dives with this BCD, of course I dive in the Mediterranean, is pretty calm waters overall, for me it’s comfortable this BCD because you can adjust lots of parts (e.g., the safety strap, I find more comfortable area on my chest). without wetsuit, it doesn’t feel great, but overall for me is comfortable. “Men’s BCD”… unbelievable.
