She is also the first female black artist to occupy the first and second position on the chart simultaneously. And btw the great Rhianna Giddens is the one on the banjo!

Country is a lifestyle and I don't think people realize that there are more than just white people who experience it. There IS a difference between Northern Black and Southern Black culture. She sheds light on this. She sings like she just stepped out of a Black church in the South, which you can recognize if you've ever been around Black Southern culture.
Aside from that, there are tons of country people who are NOT Christian or adhere to Biblical ideas like modesty. But we still love the slow country life and appreciate the small things. Her being scantily clad doesn't bother me because I will walk around my back yard in pretty much less and can get away with it because I live on acres of land. 😂

My mind is a little blown. This isn't country to me it's roots - like she went undercover into places where real music is just people not caring where you came from (park your Lexus etc) and know they can go into a little holler or whatever (somewhere I've been but can't tell you lol) to play music together and have a good time, and often the result of this is an experience that you will never forget hallmarked by the music - holy wow - where is more I am salivating

Well, I'm old school Country, and this definitely ain't that. The song's a bit trashy, really---and the way she's dressed, just adds to that---it's basically a hip-hop culture song, with Country backing.
Darius Rucker came-over, from Pop, and he was fabulous, and was accepted, because you could tell that Country music touched his soul, and he was genuine. Because Beyoncé is outlandish in everything she does, I figure she's only doing this to turn heads and sell records, and then she'll move-on to something, else---but, not quickly enough.
