Daddy Lessons was the first Beyonce country track i heard growing up, so it was the most appropriate for me to talk about in my reaction but she definitely has been doing this! I appreciate your comment aswell!
Beyoncé is reclaiming what was stolen from black people with her acts. Her first act was house/disco which black people were the creators of the genre. Act 2 will be country where white people have stolen the genre and claimed it as theirs, but we know where country music originated. Act 3 is rumored to be rock which was taken by white people but started by black people. Also Beyonce has made country music before but she got so much racist backlash even tho the song was bluegrass and was critically acclaimed. White people said she should stick to rnb cause she’s black, but Beyonce now is taking back the narrative and taking country back.

Like i said - country is niether black or white peoples music, it goes allll the way to the 17th century when both Africans & Europeans came to North America with their history and tales. Hopefully her work is recognized, respected and appreciated this time around!
Humans are found on every continent in the world, but the reason we think our ancestors came from Africa is because of both fossil and DNA evidence. We've looked for fossils from our ancient human ancestors all over the world. Of all of these, the oldest fossils we've discovered were found in Africa.So there you have it we are all black.

However country music was started by the enslaved Africans and taught their slave masters. They said she didn't belong to the genre with Daddy Lessons, they boycotted her performance with the Dixie Chicks at the biggest Country Music awards show in the US, you couldn't see it at all in the media at the awards show and now they're criticizing the cover of Texas Hold 'em, because they didn't understand the proposal. Country is a black genre, saying that it does not belong to the genre that your ancestors and our North American brothers created is stupid and the pure juice of blatant cultural appropriation. Country is conservative, so much so that you almost never see country singers being sexy. The photo was a way to bring elements of Hip-Hop culture (just look at the Rap she does in one of the songs) to country and break with Country's paradigm of conservatism. What she is doing, I am sure, will be a reason for many black people to enter Country, who will also be boycotted, but on a smaller scale, until they reappropriate the genre again. I love Beyonce's singing ,I just don't think she has to degrade herself by the way they have her dressed,it's a country song and should be judged on her voice and talent
