okay, this answer is really late.... but it was a gift from a good friend :-)
I removed this in 5min but the probleme is after. Do you know how to remove the next part to replace the glass motor?

+Xavier Murguia I found the repair manual on a french MR2 specialised forum. I replaced the motor today and it's now good for a few more years. The old motor was full of rust and WATER, had a broken bearing, worn out brushes....... How did it work like that? Good quality.
Can anyone help me find the first screw he took off?
