Being April 1, I was fully expecting Pete to throw away the bag itself and start reviewing the plastic wrapping bag it came in. Was kinda disappointed he didn't

I'm a huge PM fanboy, love most of his products...but sorry, I can't get on board with this one. For 400 dollars you can get some pretty good gear and with a little know-how, make them great. The bag itself was already a bit pricey, but the accessories??? Literally craziness to spend that kind of money on stuff that's not needed. So when I hear Pete say, "I made this bag for us." I hear, "I made this bag for the 1% of photographers that have money to set on fire."
I honestly think those battery stickers would be 10 bucks if sold separately. So many things in this bag are great, but there's so much extra that I can't see the majority of any kind of photography needing. Like I said, huge Petey Mac fan, but this feels like a cash grab that I can't get in on. There's just too many other options out there for cheaper, lifetime warranties, and aren't marked up because of a signature. Also, how much extra are we paying for a plastic bag and cardboard box with a jolly roger on it? Really man?
Just saying...for 600 bucks, there better be an ND filter and all the lightroom presets and some LUTs thrown in. What kills me is you can make so much more money if instead of pandering to the 1% of photographers, you made something budget-friendly for the rest of us. I'm not saying be cheap and go bottom dollar, but look at Peak Designs - most of their stuff is under 200 bucks, lifetime warranty, and solid reviews. You can make something to compete with them and let the other 99% of us who watch your videos and drool at things we'll never own, maybe have a chance.

yes, I agree, no doubt that it is expensive and beyond reach for many of us, but that's the price for owning something that is made to be a bit exclusive and custom. it indeed is like we're paying more for the signature. but aren't a lot of things that are being sold today marked up just because of the "brand"? i don't have the money to buy this bag, but it's alright for other people to spend for it!
just trying to say that we should not lash out against him mate. we're all a community here and we love his work. if he wants to make some money from the name he's earned over the years, that's okay with me. and it's not like the bag is a cheap sub-standard quality one being disguised or falsely marketed.

I think its reasonably priced. But its a matter of opinion.
I mean look at other manufacturers that are charging 300,- or more for way less.
Sure you can get a Manfrotto or Lowepro that are also great Camerabags.
But if you want Style, paired with an Camera/Travel/Everyday Solution its great in my opinion. :)
There’s a lot of small functionality improvements that this bag fixed over other similarly priced bags. It’s a premium product with a premium price, and for a professional I think the price can be justified.

I would definitely buy it if it was $100 - $200 because I also hate having a clothing backpack and a camera bag separately when I'm traveling, but it's way out of my price range. :c

It’s a lot of money but in my opinion a good camerabag is worth it. I paid a similar amount for my lowepro, put it through hell and it still holds up as new.

My wife bought me this bag for Christmas and just got it in March. I can say after using it for a full shoot and two night trip, it is the perfect bag for just that. Short trips where you want everything in one bag.
Also, super solid and nothing that feels cheap on it. I used a Tamrac bag for 10 years and this is such a nice upgrade!
Also, it is a very large bag, so might be tougher for altitude challenged folks, but the straps make it so much more comfortable than most backpacks.
Finally, the backing keeps your back from sweating as much like the Tamrac. Expensive bag, but worth the investment if you travel a lot with your gear and want to keep it protected. 👍👍

for the ones working from home due to quarantine, where are you planning to go with that bag? From your bedroom to the living room?
I wouldn't buy this for a few reasons, number one is my ThinkTank Airport Accelerator is already wonderful and this bag wouldn't fit my large tripod and I don't like side access or side laptop. Those both would scare me if I accidentally left one open, but most importantly this bag won't fit a large tripod like mine, the ProMediaGear TR424L. There is no absolutely perfect bag for most people however I find myself very, very pleased with ThinkTank's Airport bags and I also really like GuraGear when going on hiking trips or when I need to fit all of my gear in one bag. I think for the money most people will find better options out there, but having said that I'm sure this is a really nice bag overall. I just have some niche needs like multiple full sized pro-bodies, 400mm f2.8 VR and very large tripod. My bag weights a ton when totally packed for a trip and I really like my current bags.

Actually it really does not make any sense to me, because you can buy some fantastic bags for less money. I personally own both the ThinkTank Airport Accelerator and the GuraGear Kiboko 2.0 both of which I'd argue are much better bags for people who own a lot of gear. I'm not saying this is a bad bag, it looks pretty nice, but it wouldn't fit my large tripod and I don't like side open anything on a bag, it's a recipe for forgetting and finding your camera or laptop broken on the floor.

It’s not exactly “unaffordable”. You just have to save a lot and think it’s worth it. For all of that it’s about $900 cdn with shipping or just $613cdn for the bag. Basically it’s the most expensive camera bag I’ve seen on the market. It does serve almost any purpose. Would probably last about 10-20 years. So hey if I spent $613 on a bag and it lasted 10-20 years. I’d look back and I wouldn’t be so upset with that purchase tbh. I do still wish it was in the $400 mark.

Pete, love the vibe you’re trying to give off but I can’t see anything your showing the camera on a black bag. You could use some more light
"Nothing in the market..." Peak Design, Wandrd, Shimoda, Fstop, just to name a few options out there. That price tag is ridiculous! Personaly, I quite like the Fstops, but in my opinion if youre seriously hiking/backpacking, any photo bag is going to be heavy and pretty shit. Would rather just buy the insert and a proper light hiking bag.

Pete, I love it and its great but it’s way too expensive for a camera bag. Except the price tag, it’s just awesome. Many mid range photographers can’t just afford to buy it, so pls consider it!
