- Saturday, November 30th 2019 , the CIFSS Championship Game between Mater Deo and St. John Bosco would go down as one of the best games in modern history. Mater Dei and St. John Bosco would meet on the field as the top two High School Teams in the nation this year. This game featured 50+ division 1 recruits, including the TOP TWO QUARTERBACKS in the Country. 5-Star Bryce Young (Mater Dei) and 5-Star DJ Uiagalelei ( St. John Bosco). These two quarterbacks have been friends and have had a friendly rivalry since youth football.
On this Saturday night, in front of a packed stadium, Bryce and DJ faced off in this EPIC, last second Thriller that would go down as one of the greatest high school championship football games in California state history.

Better than Bryce young and it will on paper and when he makes it to the league. I Know him personally and told him Clemson was a bad move. A hype train bound to crash. Love to Sweeney but Clemson needs more guys to play in the trenches not when things are easy. Same for Bryce at Bama that’s why he’s getting exposed. DJ will be a different story, he hasn’t always been liked, and it wasn’t handed to him.

@@jacksonsettles7490 ya'll are both delusional. There is a reason BY went 1st in the draft and why DJ hit the portal to a 2nd rate team. No decent schools even wanted him. No disrespect as you say you know him but from an outside perspective he has looked lost on the field in college. Looking back at this game it makes since bc his throwing mechanics are bad. Takes too long to get the ball out of his hand with that motion and just slow play in general. There was a reason BY was ranked over him in HS as well, it was always obvious he was the better player.
I liked DJ coming out of HS back in the day and was routing for him. He just has not delivered as of yet.

But having natural talent/football IQ, and with his size discipline, and coach ability, he can be formed into what coaches want. Not saying BY can’t but his size and durability, right now is playing a part in his lack of success in the league. DJ not saying he’s the best by any means but comparing the two I still would take him over BY, and also believe he will have better success in the league than BY.

Correct. It was a Southern Regional Championship game (i.e., a state semifinal). If the argument is the winner of this game was always going to be a heavy favorite in the state final, OK, sure. But Bosco still had to play one more game.
