If this beast can't pull it off, I'm really not sure if it's gunna be possible anymore.. But I believe he will do it and make history..

He's a superb looking stallion with the most stunning athletic physique. I'm not a fan of racing & the way the horses have to live but he looks outstanding.
They treat him like royalty he is a beautiful horse and if you like him that much get the Breyer

I don't much about horses but i still remember watching Secretariat and spectacular bid and of course Seattle Slew. AP is a race away to being a triple crown winner.Let's hope he gets it.

You are right the thing is I saw this horses on tv and believe you me I don't remember affirmed maybe because I was not into horse racing then. I guess I stopped after seattle slew. but 37 yrs later after affirmed American Pharoah won TC only to become the 12th horse to have won.
I'm not a big sports fan either. I don't watch much sports at all. I do watch the TC every year though. I do remember Affirmed though. He had the heart of a lion.

You call that bath he is getting pampering...they have that chain across his gums and he is really bothered by it, he is a quiet horse I doubt he needs that chain...a woman groom would not give him such a insensitive bath....anyway, I guess they figure these horses are worth so much money that is why they have em all chained up to lead ( sure there are some stud colts who need it but this guy is quiet - anyway, all just how race horses are treated, not much like horses and is very hard on em).

Same as what happened with Spectacular Bid with dumbass Ronnie Franklin riding him. If he would have sat still on him and saved him for another 1/16th of a mile then he wouldn't have faded so badly the last 1/8th and lost!
Interesting bit of information. American Pharoah's 3 times removed grandsire is Secretariat.

I always wonder why, they didn't ship him to NY. All that driving back/forth in my opinion cost him the Travers.

I don't understand the washing of a horse that didn't look dirty...
It’s getting off all the dirt and dust, also to help him relax after a long trip to have something familiar. And yes, especially with dark coats, there is hidden dust and dirt.

He's so sweet just standing there, being bathed. Take the "stud chain" out of his mouth please. He doesn't need it.

That’s a safety measure. The horse (even before he won the Triple Crown), is worth millions of dollars, especially for stud.
If he spooked and tried to bolt or reared (which can happen with any horse, let alone with a racehorse jazzed to run) the chain would help him from getting hurt or someone else, especially the crowd.
This isn’t a backyard pony, and they have to take precautions about him.
Poor horse.
