OK mr. Sergiu :) There are 20 resources in game and a town can produce max. 5. Math made simple: you need 4 towns, each with its own production chain, from basic to final (most profitable) product. 1. Lumber / Bricks / Salt / Fish / Meat 2. Coal / Iron / Pottery / Tools / Pomp 3. Grain / Honey / Wine / Beer / Pastry 4. Fruit / Pelts / Wool / Cloth / Clothing It's all you need. 2 traders for a rectangle shaped road, or 3 for a star shaped one with a central hub and upgraded warehouse in center. More towns means longer trade routes, more time between sales => less money for you. When you want to expand, build another cluster of 4 towns. Of course, you can keep telling shit to people, or you can rethink your strategy.
Getting positive income is very easy. You just have to make the trader go through at least 3-4 cities ,that way you dont have excess production because you only sell it to one city. My best game was on caucasus,i had 2 traders doing the same route of about 9-10 cities, having one with a head start of about 50% of the route because it was long. My 52 weeks income was about 2.1 million and 10 weeks about 450k.
Yeah because you can produce more as you sell it in more places(more demand),and your population then grows and you get lvl. If your route is only 2 cities you get overproduction pretty fast. Also dont create cities that make both the raw material and the product(ie. grain and beer) You gain alot of money by providing your cities with the raw materials because they buy alot and with a high price.
This guide is wrong, it seems good, but the trick to making money in this game, is to not have 5 businesses in each city, apart from capital, the more you move resources about the more money you make. I have max 3 in my Citys 5 in capital and 2 extra are wood and brick. Then I research warehousing and add biggest one to my capital and have my traders going from capital to all my other citys 1 Trader per city, so they bring back the goods to capital to warehouse then they get taking to which city needs what, within 2 years game time I had over 2 million in bank and army of about 20 army groups. Ready for war! You want layout to be like this C=City S=Capital C C C S C C
I ain't got working mic atm mate sorry. Having 5 year old son who steps on things :D haha, what part are you having problems with, I am sure I Can help you. Btw don't feel bad if you instant don't make money, strick early is to have only 1 Trader with say 10 carts going round 2-3 citys, because more you have more you leak money.
I would ignore those shiny beans outside of town unless you hover your mouse over it and it says “commodities ”. These, from what I’ve seen, don’t have bandits.
I understand that overproduction is inevitable when first getting ur economy route going, but what's the best strategy for unloading your extra produce? Just take the traders off their normal route temporarily and manually sell to a town that needs the produce?
7:30 you can hold alt or ctrl or shift cant really remember buttif you hold it you can see what resources are available where like it shows you zones in the map
Okay question.... I play in the German region of the game in grus city, right. And I have done this trick I would settle down my 5 cities, and I would get into the same tatic, I send out a bunch of expensive matierals but my traders ain't picking up my cheap materials that has to go... And they are not selling it into the city that has low supply of wood. While through this i have to many do it to gain profit, even when I mass produce the product, they don't grab it and sell it to the city that needs that product. I am running into that issue. Any help or what I am doing wrong here? Because I keep spiking from postive to negative. I also have done this with expensive product and no luck at all!
I Have 3 traders. I Have one universal trader which trades with every town. Black sea trader that trades with byzantine empire. And a trader Who trades with my towns.
Thanks - I woz totally stuck with negative economy on this stupid-hard game, but want to progress with game. I have made notes from your video. I was trying desperately to make clothes and pomp, but could not get the resources needed all over the place, so concentrating on wine and tools is good advice.
+Woozy Rocketman If possible get a city where you have coal and metal, then but another city nearby that has pottery. If both are in a trade pottery goes to the metal city and you get pomp easily. There's several spots near Budapest that have pottery / metal / coal, meaning you can make pomp right away. Same goes for fur and high culvitation so you can make clothes right away without a supply chain.
+SergiuHellDragoonHQ where are you going start in europe (please scandinavia i live in sweden in Eskilstuna and you can found Eskilstuna in the game please
I was doing well in campaign till I hit emperor and then it went to hell I'm at neg 500,000 and cant get my army to fight a full battle without loosing moral and running.
How do I make it so I can actually have an army without going bankrupt I made 200 units I had 15 million Daenerys in the maintenance costs were killing me I had no choice but to disband
you did not need brick/wood production in Bratislava. Should save those slots for wine and some maybe some other production. You can always make more production buildings for them in Zagreb and they will buy them there. Also, you could have gotten furs as well in Bratislava. Besides that, very nice play-through.
Don't bother with 3 or 4 city trade routes. I set routes for 10-14 cities (preferably in an oval / circle shape) and then put another trader on the exact same route but counter clock-wise. Best way to get all the resources divided over the entire chain and achieve high prosperity.
+SergiuHellDragoonHQ For example if u cant get coal metal in a chain and its seperated with a city in between. Clockwise u can deliver metal and pottery and counterclockwise the coal. Then the middle city can hand out pomp and hardware goods in both directions with your two traders. Same goes for Clothes and Pastries, easiest way of distributing and no hassle of working with central warehouse. Made 10 million in the first year, just expand hard with settlers and set up big city routes.
This is a poor guide, the only way to make tons of money is building warehouse and upgrade it to level 3 in your capital and make auto (balanced) traders with all surrounding lands, 1 trader per town. (you need research it first, only need 1 point in development tab). I conquered 3 regions in sandbox mode, have 10 millions gold and 10% of my population are top tier troops and all my towns are at 80%+ prosperity and 100% in capital. Just make sure you add carts to your traders when they need it, not before (as there is an upkeep price).
Not in-depth you didn't even really grow anything just establish a silly trade route I'm trying to getmhigher city level then 3...... Even when I upgrade church's still limited and does not increase beyond 3k population
OK mr. Sergiu :)

So, I must do this strategy for every 6 cities I have and I mustn't connect them?
Thanks for the guide. I bought this game today and initially I was struggling, but a few tips from here and a bit of micromanaging got me through OK.
7:00 If you press ALT key the hud showing ressources will pop up
Thank you for this. I had my trader's zig zagging across 12 towns across the continent like a bonobo.
I would ignore those shiny beans outside of town unless you hover your mouse over it and it says “commodities ”. These, from what I’ve seen, don’t have bandits.

Waste of time. Youre talking about basics
How the fuck do I sell shit in this game????
+Leroy SSJ you need to hire traders and then get a trader agreement from a village and then you can sell.
In my game, I'm constantly running into overproduction problems, and I do a lot of inner empire trade.
