  • Hey Everyone! I know it's been such a long time since I've posted. I have been waiting for something like this to come along to film and I'm so happy I did! This poor girl had some breakage, deep level 7-8 banding and really long roots. please remember this is a HIGH RISK color correction and should not be attempted by non-professionals.

    I fixed my daughter's banding doing this, obviously not to the professional level here, just using similar principles, as I'd watched a ton of proper hairdressing youtube videos. Hugely relieved it worked. Daughter still talks about it 18months later as we watch UA-cam hair posts..
    We watch, listen and learn from you, thankyou!!

    I did a color correction today on a friend. The first time on someone else and the second time ever. I used things I learned in older tutorials by you, but I'm not a professional, just interested. And I'm super proud of the result!! It wasn't easy or perfect, and I was working 3 hours on her constantly. Bit it looked soooo good! I'm super happy! 💖 I wish I could've filmed it, but I was too shy to ask her.😅
    Well, thank you for your great advice!
    I learned a lot and did a great job today because of you! 🥰
    Btw, she didn't want any toner or color mask to even out the ends and roots, so I personally wasn't a fan of the slightly difference in tone, but it wasn't that noticable for others.

  • @DanteVelasquez

    That looks excellent. People have no idea what goes into these processes and they love to criticize. There isn't even a line of demarcation and we know how hard that is to achieve with lightener. I personally find color corrections and extreme blonding exhausting. You deserve a medal for this excellent work 🙂

    I love how methodical and clean everything worked out for you!
    I probably just would have applied 2mm off the scalp to the end of the root with 20vol, then go back with 10vol to touch up every missed scalp hair and overlap on the band, but I know exactly what you mean when certain brands of lightener either start to make the hair stiff or start to crumble off their head or make it impossible to section again😅
    Blondeme stays quite manipulative but we only have studio Blond multi technique which sounds similar to what you used😆

      Yes, never understand why people "have somewhere to go" when scheduling a long appointment like this. A trim would not take much longer either. My guess is that some people just want to maintain their length, no matter what the state of it is. Hoping she is getting a nice cut next time!

  • @JaneSmith0709
    @JaneSmith0709 9 місяців тому

    Definitely a vast improvement. Not how I would have gone about it, but as you said, there are many ways to approach this. She should have let you take a few more minutes to trim the ends though. Hopefully she'll come back in 4 weeks like she's supposed to.

    • @morganmiller9627
      @morganmiller9627 9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah me neither, I think I would’ve skipped the first half inch of roots at first, then gone back and did them after foiling, then corrected the banding. Mainly because I feel that in the bowl before toning you could see the roots were much lighter, but that could just be her camera. What would you have done? I also really wished she would’ve gotten a trim

    • @JaneSmith0709
      @JaneSmith0709 9 місяців тому

      @@morganmiller9627 I would have started with only the banding. Get those as light as possible, then go back in and do from the banding to the ends. I always like to do roots last because there's nothing worse than hot roots, and once this girl's toner washes out she's going to probably not like her hair very much. But I do have respect for other choices. Everyone has their own way of doing it.

    I went from #4 to #10 ashy blonde in 2000 and i had lots of banding since i was doing my hair myself. Recently i did this on my hair, and i was soooo happy with my results! I had to work super fast though because my bleach works is very quick acting (Schwartzkopf). Banding gone!!!!! Such relief. I just knew hair dressers were behind me in line at Walmart noticing my gold bands and thinking "Gurlllll, fire your hairdresser!!!!". Wish we had your percentages on toner. How much did you add of each?

      It is not easy to maintain this colour on dark hair like hers. Very expensive too. Within 2 weeks you will see dark hair growing in again... More easy to go with highlights and lowlights in order for it to grow out less obvious. I've had my hair blonde like this, never again. The work you need to put in with keeping it fresh looking. High and lowlights for me....

    i see these kind of hair over and over with bands, and i no longer get upset with the last hairdresser as this is USER FAIL, the bleach hair shoudnt wait 4 to 6 months to retouch, roots shouldnt be no longer then 1 inch. And when they come to hairdresser with 2-3 inch of natural hair and expect to come out fantastic is very difficult. First it would cost more, second it will take so much more time, 3rd i find it is more damaging. People needs to understand bleach roots is a very expensive hair to keep up. And honey i know your work is great but come on, you can do better sectioning with a tail comb, this back of the brush sectioning is not good enough really, specially a work like this.

      12:22 to balance out the greeny ashy tones. I'm guessing the camera or the screen is not picking up the green in her hair.
