What do you call a zipper that the teeth can be separated easily but restored by pulling up the slider. I want to be able to pull the teeth apart to get access to the interior of the pocket.

@Sailrite is the width of the fabric tape that the zipper teeth are on a standard size? For example, if i have #5 plastic tooth zipper, does it come with different sizes of ribbon/tape or is it generally an industry standard?
When the starter post (pin) or starter box breaks or comes off unfortunately the whole zipper needs to be replaced. No one has been able to make a starter pin or box that can be installed on broken zippers and work well.
i have been searching for over a week on what the size number means on a zipper (#8=8mm), thank you for the answer to this question.

#5 typically always has the same size of flange. But if you go to a #10 or #15 those will be larger.

B the starter post came off the bottom of my grandsons jacket. Can I replace it? You don't mention that part of the zippers.
