I'm starting to learn this piece for NYSSMA and this was amazing and very helpful to hear how it is supposed to be played it sounds absoultly beautiful
Wonderful playing!! I would love to play this for solo ensemble next year, but I don't think I'm talented enough! I'll keep striving for this goal. Keep up the good work! :)
It isnt that hard... it takes only effort and patience. Im sure you can play it...if not it is always a good practice to try and play music over your level, because it raises your level. If you dont believe in yourself you actually wont be able to play it :D
This is beautiful, I’m actually playing this for solo and ensemble this year. It helped a lot to hear how it’s played up to tempo and everything, though the low notes didn’t respond as beautifully as they could’ve. Of course, I’m just being super critical because I am a flutist. But amazing anyway!
I think part of that has to do with the fact that the piano is too forward in the mix. Maybe better microphone placement for the flute mics would have helped. Or turn down the piano. Probably both. I like this piece. Never did perfect it but it’s still fun to play.
Not bad. The piece is tough and for sure. I would say you don't project as well as I other have when they have played it. Some of the runs are a little rough but I'm being super critical for sure...and yes I'm a flute player and I'm practicing this piece as we speak so I'm not idiot sitting on the sidlines with no talent. This is just my personal opinion. Again, sounds good.
Agreed. She rushes through some of those phrases. Still, not bad. My professional opinion from a standpoint of sound engineering: I think the mic placement and recording mix are hurting her in regard to some of the lower register parts. The piano is too forward. There’s a couple times the flute gets lost. That’s probably in part due to the flute mic getting a lot of piano in. Maybe the engineer could not mix down the piano any more. Anyway... still a great rendition. I haven’t ever really gotten this piece to a performance level but I’ve been practicing it on and off for a long time. :)
Her tone is great however it should definitely not sound like that in my opinion. She is playing some of the notes shorter then they are supposed to be and that makes it sound like baroque. The tempos are mostly wrong and she is out of tune most of the time. However that is just my opinion.
I played this solo for my NYSSMA All State audition and I got a 100. This video really helped me to understand how the piece is played. Brava!

What model of flute is????
Concert
@@MiraDaWulf that isnt the model of the flute...?
Excellent. But low tones did not project and too fast for my liking.
