if you are forced to do something,
you will not do it willingly ...
or at the very least - on your own accord
in other words, you will feel trapped,
compelled out of obligation vs. true desire
What God in His compassion and mercy then illustrates
yet lets us decide,
is that what we often think is a good decision,
really in effect is not.
We settle for the temporal
far too often and too easily
without considering the eternal (or long term consequences)
Someone said it best recently,
the devil offers his best 1st to snag you,
and the last he gives his worst,
God gives you His best for last,
even if we don't understand Him starting out,
God first tries the carrot before he uses the goad!
