Thanks Steve. Yes, we have bought quiet a bit at Savers, also a few local Hardware stores that often beat Savers prices. Sometimes we take a trip to CITI hardware in Maasin and Wilcon in Ormoc. Lazada has also been a good source for smalls.
Hey Charlie, I am so glad you and Rena are back home. And you are still the best videographer. I had to smile at your remarks about the ceiling height in the pantry/larder, and the plans to install shelves all the way up. I know a little person who will need to have a slide-along ladder (like they have in libraries) installed so she can reach her stashes😂😂😂
i may be wrong but it looks like you did a solid pour cement foundation. did you do the same for perimeter walls as well? this is how i wish to build someday when i retire to baybay leyte .all solid pour foundation and walls too .. did you have much resistance from the workers to do a solid pour? thanks . house looks great
Yes, the duplexes are all solid concrete including interior walls. Unfortunately I was not in Phil when the main construction happened and it was not done to my standards. My advice is to be as hands on as possible for this kind of construction, since not many Formen/skilled labour here have the experience. In the main House we went with hollow block as everyone knows how to build with that. The problem is that Hollow blocks have very little cement in them here, so we made our own Hollow blocks with about 3x the cement content.
Hello Sir,new sub here!Glad I found your channel 😊 I’m in the process of transitioning our life into retirement phase,I am looking for a land (beach front) somewhere in Southern Leyte.my question is how much is the pricing per sqm. of land in your area.I would love to hear from you, thank you.
Hi there. I can connect you with a respresentative of the family that we bought our land from. I believe they have more land to sell. We bought a small parcel and them added another 4 more pieces, so we paid different prices for all. I believe that we paid between 2.2k/sqm and 1.6k/sqm. If you need contact numbers email me at johnthebrown0224@gmail.com.
Great house layout… look forward to future progress. 👏🏻👏🏻
Great project. Mine is just a little behind yours.
Glad to have found you on here and I assume you buy things at the Savers I just discovered last week.. Progress being made and the place looks great!
