Video sublime.
I come back to this again and again, and each time it makes me shiver with the feeling of a bygone sensibility to the pace and polyphonic sound of the lute, but only this performance moves me so. I hope you continue and perform in venues worthy of your skill
Your comment reminds me of a quote regarding the lutenist Francesco da Milano (about 100 years prior to Frescobaldi). The image is one of several people lost in contemplation while listening to the great master. At this time music didn't need to be loud or rambunctious. The quiet music of the lute was I think the most highly prized of all.
é una soddisfazione per me ascoltare Frescobaldi e la nostra musica suonata almeno dagli "stranieri" visto che non vedo commenti italiani qui sotto! :-( Thank you very much anyway for the upload! It's so sweet and well played! :-)
Lo so, purtroppo spesso non riconosciamo la nostra stessa bellezza, ti consiglio di ascoltare anche Dowland, un compositore inglese dello stesso periodo. Pensavo di registrare la sua Fantasia n7
Extreme respect to you. Thank you for keeping lutes alive for those who love them. No matter how unsettled my mind may be, the sound of a lute brings me peace. Be blessed.
MAESTRO! I adore this piece, by one of my most illustrious, yet today little-known compatriot. I have seldom heard it played so beautifully, with pace, sensitivity and gravitas. SUPERB! Thank You!
@ElGato1704 your very welcome . I wrote this little joke, when John Dowland, and Franchesco Dal Maliano got to the gates of heaven, St Peter says come in gentle minstrels. The place was filled with lutes. And they asked "Great, where are the strings?" Peter replied "what the hell are strings?" The 2 lutenists looked at each other and asked "Are you sure this isn't the other place?" You have a superb gift my friend. R
Such a beautiful sound and arrangement. You are very talented, and inspiring. I want to play an archlute, but wouldn't know where to start?. Thanks for sharing this :)
Did you ever begin to study the lute? If not, and if you're still interested, contact the Lute Society of America. They will have all the information you need.
Your performance penetrates my sole deeply. Very well played. Also your way of playing lute is quite authentic! Thank you for your video. From lute323 Japan.
Thank you very much! I think Kapsberger's correntis and gagliards (from 1st book 'Intavolatura di Lauto') is well suitable for beginning. Also Piccinini.
HELP: While preparing to perform "La Frescobalda," by Girolamo Frescobaldi, I read that it was a COMMON FOLK tune offered up by a volunteer in the crowd for G. Frescobaldi to extemporaneously perform variations before a crowd at St. Peter's cathedral in competition to a pretender to his appointment there as organist, for which Frescobaldi played 124 variations, and was thus proclaimed winner. Does anyone have knowledge of this story, or otherwise?
Beautiful playing! Not an easy piece indeed. Your lute is so small-bodied yet it sounds very well, and even the deepest basses are well supported. What's the deepest note (F/G) ?
Very beautiful and there is a lot of heart in your playing. Great! Btw, wasn't "Guardame las vacas" by Luys de Narvaez the first published set of variations in 16th century?
Danke Jürgen! Sehr angenehem zu lesen! It is not first example of variations at all, it's first example of variations on own theme. "Guardame las Vacas" is folksong, not by Narvaez. "Aria" is a variations by Frescobaldi on theme by Frescobaldi, no one composer did take before own theme for writing a variation, only well-known songs.

Thank you! You are too kind to my my humble experiences.
Thank you, I am pleased!
My archlute was made by Alexander Batov. It's lute after K.Koch from 'Citte de la musique'

This is wonderful! Love the piece and performance. Somehow I'm late discovering Frescobaldi so I'm doing a lot of catching up!

Playing strings are double, but diapasons are single.
Wonderful music, as is your playing, Konstantin.
Wonderful rendering. Thank you.
Oh che bello! Mi piace tanto questo Frescobaldi. I like it very much - Thank you for posting it!
That was very well done. I was recently thinking of transcribing this for archlute but you beat me to it!
Thank You for the great interpretation and sound!
You are too kind, my dear, to my humble aim of the first years playing lute!
@@improvising_lutenist In my mind, it doesn’t meter, if it just beginning or not. Once is important, to continue and You have a huge progress!
Reminds me I have a piece for Renaissance lute by Frescobaldi. Perhaps a transcription ...
Beautiful *****
Congratulations !
J'adore ça!
Well done. Nice arrangement & beautifully played

i love the fluidity

Bravo! qué buena aria.
You have giant hands!
Very nice performance!
Very nice. Good intonation!
Anyone familiar with Tangerine Dream? They use this in the narrated "A lesson, perhaps" on their album Kaleidoscope
Nice tone and feel!
Really nice playing and arrangement. :)
Thank you very much!

Awesome
That is a beautiful lute. Where did you get this?
Yes!
Thank you! I am happy it isn't No :)
Any Tablature? Thanks I'm an old one...
Excellent arrangement and playing! Is your archlute single strung?
Awesome transcription. Is it yours? I love what you do with the low notes.
Yes, it's mine! Thank you for appreciating!
@@improvising_lutenist Just noticed how massively long your fingers are.
Fantastic! BTW, do you transcribe this from Segovia's?
+filsuf
Thank you! No, I've played from original manuscript for keybord.
Is this an "archlute?" Also, I would love to know its builder and provenance.
Yes, it is. It's based on Christoph Koch archlute from Citte de la Musique Paris, made by Alexander Batov in 1989.
No se escucha nada por mas que le suban volumen al video, mal audio
And how much do they cost?
Стараюсь!
Is that lute an old instrument?
What kind of lute is that
That's a theorbo isn't it? Is a theorbo a lute?
It isn't a theorbo, it's an archlute.
Theorbo belongs to lute family, so we're able to call it as a lute.

Lacks a bit in unequality. Would give more rhythm. I also would wish it a bit faster, but with some unequality, it would already be quite good.
