- Trip number 4 to what I once called the Amalgam hole has transformed into something truly amazing - it's now the Gold Nugget hole! I kept digging into the bedrock up the bank, and wow, it revealed some mind-blowing Big Gold Nuggets. I thought my last trip was the peak, but this day blew all my expectations away! If you would use one snuffer bottle for the clean gold and another one for the other
I was doing that a couple videos ago and my snuffer bottle wasn’t picking it up. I’ve had that snuffer for a while and I think it’s just lost it rebound so it doesn’t suck up the gold anymore. I am waiting on another garret snuffer to arrive. Although it is kind of a pain in the butt messing with 2 snuffer bottles it moving water.

@triple_A_rockhound floods are good though for gold. It turns the creeks, and moves the gold around. It also digs up new gold by taking off all the over burden.

It was more than just a flood.
We had a large snow pack and then we got a Pineapple Express.
The creeks got high and washed out the trees which then they created the dam which gather the other trees that were coming down the creek.
What’s the damn got so big and start to push the rock and rock piles of the old-timers left and create more of a dam then all the rock and tree started to move literally removing every tree in its path solid rock the stacked rock this is how gold moves not just a regular flight when you got 10 of thousands I have tons of rock and tree moving down That’s really when gold moved in scrape the whole Creek out.
Just only happened a certain creeks it’s up to you to figure out .
Heating mercury coated gold in the oven inside?
Heck no lol. I am not sure if it even was mercury. But I noticed a piece of a nugget the color was off and think it may have been a piece of mercury that I didn’t see. Definitely not going to burn of merc in the house.
That’s worth about 1780 bucks give or take

im seeing a few guys out prospecting in small streams and bringing in some nice gold... it might not be enough to run a company or worth taking out heavy equipment... but if you could get £50-60 of gold a day over a weekend you've definitely covered fuel and food for the weekend so its a hobby that pays for itself, can put food on the table if need be, and there's always the chance of a bigger pay day. duno how big a gold rush scotland had... but im sure there's places that i should visit in the summer.
is this just a random stream or do you know previously that its been worked before by old timers or have any other information thats led you to this spot?
like how it went from "i dont know if i'll make it back up this year" to "i can make a few more trips up there" next we'll see you on gold divers winter season!
Yes definitely not enough to run a gold operation but if you could dredge this creek you’d make a lot of money I believe.
There are definitely signs of old timers workings. That’s why there is so much mercury in the creek. The old timers used it to collect the gold. A lot of it made it through there sluices and back into the creeks and rivers.
I’d definitely have to get a thicker wet suit for that. I have a couple other locations in the lower elevations to work during the winter months.
Weight that stuff in dwt.
