It makes me laugh to see just how tiny the Mustang was, even the Skyraider completely dwarfs it, let alone today's massive fighters.. which the really funny part is that the F14 was even bigger still.
Интересно послушать, спасибо! Замечание немецкого генерала про P-51 над Берлином сильно порадовало. Думаю это далеко не самый важный фактор который привел его к таким мыслям)
Paul Alongi you're right, it was lovely for him to 'air' this video, and to 'chute' the film. It is 'plane' awesome. It was also nice of him to 'take off' the music, and tell a few of the 'tales' related to the aircraft. I am simply over the clouds.
My dad who flew a glider in WWII and was involved in the big glider drop in Holland built a Midget 51 Mustang in our garage for nearly 9 years. My father was a perfectionist when it came to building the Mustang and was a member of EAA out of Corpus Christi, Texas. For a number of years my dad flew his experimental P-51 to Oshkosh and each time won first place in his class as it was a Midget Mustang not a full version of the P-51. My mom and I called it The Grey Mouse when we saw it preparing to lift off the runway. My dad is gone now and I still have a photo of him flying that plane. I am happy to say my mother and I also helped many times in building that plane. Sweet memories!
Wrong Info at 51mins into documentary here !! Actually the Hawker Hurricane had the the Highest Kill ratio in the Battle of Britain not the Supermarine Spitfire !!
10:30 If I was the pilot of that Mustang, I couldn't help myself but tell the other pilots on the formation: "If you guys need me to throttle back, don't be shy".
It’s amazing but the US had a squadron of Spitfire fighters. I didn’t know until I saw an RC model with US markings that I identified as a spitfire that I just thought was a rebranded model but know there really was and operational unit.
What was that but about the show box being smaller at Oshkosh? Is it because of how many people are in the audience or what is situated around the airfield (homes, businesses, etc.)?
This year might be the first year i can finally go to Oshkosh!! Its been a painfully long 26 years. Watching this amazingness yet never being able to be there.
This is a great video! You forgot to mention Matt Chapman making his last EAA AirVenture Oshkosh appearance as he retired like Julie Clark at the end of the 2019 airshow season. Other than that I am looking forward to the next installment in 2020.
Spitfire hurricane mosquito Lancaster p51 amongst a few others after the war Spanish made bf109 used a merlin engine The meteor was a non supercharged merlin derived engine fitted to tanks and other ground based vehicles
Came here for the P-82 Twin Mustang in the thumbnail and was not disappointed, even if it was a brief glance. I didn't realize any of those were still flying!
listening to his fact that 4 weeks was the average lifespan of a WW2 RAF fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain. Read in WW1, average lifespan of a RAF fighter pilot was 11 days, 55% killed in training.
Sometimes I feel sad when I think about that the WWII era warbirds are probably the last warbirds that will ever get into civilian hands. There are a couple MIg-15s or F-86 sabre but even those are now 60 years or older.
+Axel Yes, the US Govt was taking a closer look at modern hardware reaching civilian hands. They particularly wanted the F-14s scrapped to prevent spare parts from getting sold to Iran to support their old F-14s. The Collings Foundation operates an F-4. A badly damaged F-18 came up for sale and I think an F-16 also, but good luck getting parts to repair them. Paul Allen's museum obtained an operational Mig-29, one of two there were in the civilian market. The museum was selling the Mig, I think because there are so few pilots qualified to fly it, it's expensive, and it was the only aircraft at the museum that was getting noise complaints from the crowded area surrounding the museum. ua-cam.com/video/widECaChePI/v-deo.html
I always had FRONT-ROW seats in my OSHKOSH BP4 TFA (Truck, Fire, Aircraft) while in the RAAF in the 1970's! ... On the edge of the runways! Graet stuff!
This could have been a great video but someone decided to tag it with graffiti “AirshowStuff” This is not NASCAR, put your logo discreetly at the beginning of the video or make it small and transparent.
Can you guys put together a several hour compilation of 2018 and 2019 AirVenture? I see you have them from previous years but not since 2017. It’d mean a great deal! Thanks!
Given the shows all canceling this year, we just might! We stopped doing them because we simply have too much footage from those years. The 2017 videos took 36 hours to render! We'll see though - lots of time for editing coming up
I find it interesting, that two of the finest fighter aircraft designed during WW11, one British and one American, were powered by engines built by a German manufacturer.
WW2 was truly a horrific and tragic civil war between Western Civilization. The West has been in decline since it's end. As General Patton said "We fought the wrong enemy."
What an odd comment The spitfire was designed several years before the start of the war First flown 1935 and first production units 36 with continuous upgrades The hurricane flew before the spitfire and used the same British rr merlin engine The p51 mustang first used an American engine with disappointing figures so was then fitted with the merlin or at least a licence built unit
Who else believes we should all go back to making planes that look old, I'm mainly saying this cuz jets look too modern and can't tell any stories unlike ww1/ww2 era planes

where is this located

I was there! I’ll be there next year as well. R.I.P Mark Nowsielski.
Apparently they think the canopy of the Mustang II he was flying wasn't secured properly causing it to fly off and smash into the tail
@@AB-wf8ek that would make sense. They also said maybe bad fuel but it’s been a while since they said that.
I didn't realise how much bigger the raptor was than the lightning
Yea the raptors huge!

the spitfire really is a beautiful machine..
Have Never Been To Oshkosh..But On The Bucket List For Sure
DO IT!
I miss going to AirVenture so much. Went in 2008 when I was a kid and I've wanted to go back soooooo much since then!
So beautiful! I really enjoyed the show in 2018 and planning to go back there again.
I cannot wait for this years show! The few things that have been announced so far sound awesome!
yikes
@@KILLGAMERSCOOT4LIFE 2021 happened and I was there everyday so it made up for it.
A truly incredible film amazing thank you so very much I enjoyed it greatly
Seeing that P-51D leading a flight of modern fighters with that A-10 reminded me why I joined and proudly served in the USAF.
Thank you for your service. It truly is a beautiful sight to see.
Myself as well.... served with Pride from 1966 to 1970.

Thank you for your service as well, its so nice to see so many Veterans here.

I remember first seeing that huge fireball Wednesday night and it almost blew me back from the heat, even the announcer was amazed by it.
That Saturday raptor demo was unlike anything I'd ever seen! Can't wait to head back up for my 5th consecutive year this summer!
I was excited for AirVenture this year too. Sad it had to be cancelled.
@@hobie1613 well there’s always next Year.
That demo is what I came to this video for
I was only there Monday,Wednesday, and Friday. I didn’t know the snowbirds dropped in. Cool.
What a great video! Well put together, the narration was fantastic! Thanks for posting!

If anyone is visiting the Kennedy Space Center you can see that TwinMustang at the Warbird Museum nearby
Before I die I want to see a f-104 take off. It’s such a fascinating aircraft.
I went to the one in Nellis in November. it was my first airshow and my gods it was a BLAST
who else wishes the could have fired blanks out of the a-10 just for us to hear that distinctive BRRRRT in person
Can't imagine cleaning it after firing blanks.
Well videotaped, well edited and well narrated.
I love the A10 warthog!

Thanks for uploading ! It was a great show ! 👌🏻👍🏻
The A-10 wasn't designed to fly at sped. It was designed to kill at maximum efficiency.
Also designed to sustain a lot of damage.
A10’s the Armored Battle Tank of the air!
H and C versions of the stang are awesome
30:45 MIG-15 !! LOVE THEM
Calling the Allison engine in the early Mustang's "Woefully underpowered" is an insult. It was amazing in North Africa.
I caught that. Underpowered only at HIGH altitude would have been fair.
Best part of living in fond du lac is I can be at the eaa in 20 mins or less
Fun video. Thanks!
3:59 Got to see that exact yak 110 at Nampa
Fantastic video! The Raptor looks sooo sexy in that evening sky
The F22 is the current pinnacle of air superiorty. Sexy, powerful and a fucking beast.
The Yak-55 looks a bit like a FW-190.
The tasks of F-22+F-35+A-10=P-51
That is why P-51 lead the formation.
ONLY because there wasnt a P47 there to lead!!!!!!!! LOL
Awesome!!!....🤙😎🤘
I've been watching airshows for a long time and I don't think I've ever seen one as good but also as well presented and narrated, thank you.

One of these days I really hope to get out to an oshkosh!
Excellent video!
Very cool to see those two Russian YAK-55 of the Twin Tigers have *God Bless America* written to the underside of their wings.

At one time, I guess in the 70's, the CAF had a Twin Mustang but it either crashed or became unservicable and unairworthy.
The last time I saw that XP-82 it was still a basket case in a hangar in Georgia. Love seeing it in the air.
