I think with things like shape you’ll mainly need to consider your own body, as you’re buying them with the thought of you wearing them for a long time. If you love the idea of it, even if it’s a more trend like aspect, you should wear it!
I'm glad that you pointed out PU is just as bad as real leather ethically but surely a second hand leather jacket is just as worth reusing than a pu that may not get worn again? Perhaps a second hand leather jacket is even more valuable considering an animal is killed for it. I understand, however that your morals may just not sit well with promoting the ethics of leather in any way.. that's totally fine. Anyway pinapple leather, now there's a thought
With most leather products (not snake and croc etc) don’t actually have animals killed for them most leather is a bi product of the food industry and at least currently would actually go to waste if not used for clothing
Just pick what you like to wear and stick with it. If puff sleeve square neck tops and dresses are a trend that you love, wear all of the time and still wear 5 years running? Then it's timeless for you. Classic styling for me gets boring very fast. I'm happy not to look modern
i agree, i also love some quirky fashion i´ve collected for some years and i wear it every day (and have done so for that long...i mean i have clothes from secondary school and i'm doing my master's xD) but i guess this video will be helpful for those that tend to go with the trend rather than choosing a particular style (or styles) and want to stop.
I live on a sailboat. My husband and I each have a 12"x12"x16" cupboard to keep all our clothes. With a small closet to hang up a coat, our foul weather gear and 1 dress outfit. I recently took up sewing and it's revolutionized my wardrobe. I can tailor make things to fit my body and I'm loving it. I can use quality fabrics and make things that last forever. I also knit, which is essential for Canadian winters on the ocean.
I got a very classic LL bean canvas coat this year at a thrift shop for $2.50! Also managed to get a classic cardigan for less than a buck! I’m loving that these classic styles are seeing a bit of resurgence at the moment as I’ve always gravitated towards them. Jenny I also want to say thanks for inspiring me to start enjoying my hubby’s oversized (on me) button ups and also oversized neutral sweaters! I never would have thought to do it on my own but I feel so comfortable and kinda mysterious in these styles!
Cardigans rule! Button em up for a handy jumper look. Long and baggy for comfort when ill. Short and cropped for a little warmth at any time. Yip, cardis is where it's at! Xxx

I would never buy new leather or pu clothes or jackets so I use my vintage pieces from the 70s and 80s. I have been buying all my blazers, jackets and pants second hand now. Your channel is a big influence
My personal favourite is monochromatic look. Especially navy blue, black or as u said whatever shades of grey. I feel myself hidden in one color only. 🤍
would I have liked this five years ago doesn’t really work for me as I was ten back then and the most fashionable item I could imagine was a polyester loop scarf with colorful owl print😂
Great video Jenny! I think waxed/treated cotton can be a good alternative to leather and plastic jackets! I have my own obsession and bad habit of buying blazers, but I’ve mostly accepted it considering they’re all timeless and purchased second-hand/vintage
I bought a beautiful PU matrix trench coat one or two years ago at a secondhand market and it's one of my favorite finds ever. I'm also a huge fan of monochromatic outfits though I prefer them to be all green or blue especially during fall and winter. Blazers are always great and can make most outfits look 10x better and then I'm honestly obsessed with puff sleeves I think they make everything so much more special, make it more fairytale like and then I think they suit me really well
Blazer is my fav! I wore them since high school ❤️❤️❤️ I had a black one that hold for years and now have a blacl/grey chevron one for 3 years and still love it!
I'm definitely into puffy sleeves and monochrome trends(particularly all brown or all grey since those look really good on me)...and also satiny materials I think (though that might not be a trend this year?). Pretty sure I'd wear these going forward anyway since I personally just wear or buy things that I'm absolutely in love with nowadays :)
Oversize is all cool and trendy, but it doesn’t work for everyone! As a tall slightly plus size girl I don’t look small or feminine in men’s clothes or chunky boots. I’d prefer men’s blazer or shirt exactly my size that doesn’t make my back look enormous. Plus your shoulders don’t change much if you gain or lose weight. So I aggressively argue that if you’re not petite, right fit in your shoulders is much hotter and looks chique and sophisticated!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a sustainable, not fast fashion brand that is unique and brightly colored? I want to stop fast fashion but I've been having to buy all my clothes secondhand because I like obnoxious colors and textures and patterns (think psychedelic) without supporting bad companies, and non-fast fashion brands are always so classic, am I'm definitely not a classic girl.

Fast fashion in the Philippines is really not a thing, the only time we throw clothes is when it's already unwearable or sometimes shredded into pieces. Our cycle of clothes goes from new clothes (for outside use) > clothes become faded from multiple-use (inside house use) > clothes shrunk but still wearable (night time use) > clothes already have holes (rag use) > clothes are shredded (can tie to cover pipe holes) > clothes are now in their thread form (trash)

At least leather lasts a lot of time, you can find second-hand pieces that will last forever.
Also as long as there is a meat industry, lets use every part of the animal and not waste the leather ❤️
Some of us just can't endorse the idea of wearing someone else's skin, as eco friendly as it is. :S
