    Perfect outcome to such a creative and colorful project. The Abique Drinking Gourd hosta resembles the smaller mouse ear hosta. Pronounced (ah-bi-que drinking gord).
    Abique, a historical family name may trace back to Britain and Ireland. Drinking Gourd may relate to the cup shape of the leaves as collecting and drinking water from a gourd.
    You have an amazing, interesting and super creative garden. I would watch this video repeatedly just because of the choice of music to the fun cleanup!

    Mondo grass is mostly grown for summer interest. It grows extremly fast and large.

    • @JDubKillinKicks
      @JDubKillinKicks Рік тому +2

      Standard mondo grass reaches a mature spread up to 1 foot wide within a year or two, but dwarf mondo grass needs two to three years under ideal conditions to reach its spread of 3 to 4 inches.

    You have a beautiful garden. And I'm glad you're back on UA-cam. I'm watching the video, I'm happy for you!
    But why do you put so much organic matter in bags? Leaves, dry grass - it will perfectly improve your soil! Right on the spot. You don't need to take it anywhere, just dig it up and it will be great! Good luck, greetings from Kazakhstan!

    Folks could learn so much by watching your videos. Leaf texture, the color, the size combinations of plants just beautiful. I’ve tried for many years to find the right evergreens to go in my space. I am in zone 4b. It’s been very difficult to find evergreens that are not fussy about the wind and the rain and the wetness. My space has been altered so it’s not so wet and I still have difficulty with the evergreen trees. However, I have a new 12 acre space to play with. It’s not so wet. I’m looking forward to gardening in a new location. And oh yes, some of my plants will be going with me if not most. Because of my area, not many people are gardeners.

    Love how you "recycle" stuff in your garden. I had a huge mulberry taken down years ago, last year I used the knee high off cuts from the trunk to build a raised hosta bed in my shady KC backyard. With how wet your yard is, those hostas are going to get huge!

    The name of your hosta would be pronounced Abique (Abeek) Drinking Gourd (gord) Hosta. j am not using dictionary pronounciation I am sure but you hopefully can see how to pronounce it. I Love what you did here. I have just used one of your ideas in a new garden. It was made in 2019 but has not really come into it's own until this year. I had a knockout rose on one end and big Yuccas on the other end with a huge space for annuals in between but it was like the plants in the middle got lost. So I followed your example and raised the center up like a berm. I love it and now can see peeks of the shorter annuals and perrenials that I wanted to put in the middle. Ty for all your great ideas. You know it is rare to see such an intricate garden in such a small space. Your garden has the feel we all want I think and that is to feel as if it goes on forever when you only walked a few feet out your back door and circled around. Wonderful!

    Love your garden style, with the evergreens, rocks and rusty metal, it reminds me of something you'd see in Colorado. I'm so glad to see you back on UA-cam! I live around 40 minutes north of you and my sister lives in Gardner so I've been there a lot over the years. May I ask where you got the black mondo grass? I've never seen it before. I love your heuchera and hosta combination. I have a huge hosta called jurassic park and have started combing it with heucheras and I have become obsessed with the different colors. I saw in one of your videos you were at Family Tree nursery. I love the one 75th. Can you tell me the location of the one you were at? Keep up the great work. You give me inspiration to tackle our large yard in a different way. 😊

      No need to cut black mondo grass back. Just pull off any dead leaves in the spring. I also really wanted them but was surprised at the expense. I got about 6 of them and when I sold my house I took 3 with me in a container. From last summer to now they have really outgrown the container and can be easily broken up to plant tons more! Something about them makes them pricey though!

    Hey man, so happy to see you back, I've always been super in love with your garden! Compared to your past videos, since you came back the resolution of your videos is lower, and on bigger screens it gets quite blurry when you watch (only 360p on this one for example). I'm not sure if you are aware of this change or not, is there any chance you could go back to filming in 720p or higher, like you did before your youtube break?

      @@moxiegardens8033 Awesome! My guess is that it could be some setting in the editing software that you use, when you export and save the final version of the video things can get weird if you don't have it configured correctly. Your kids can probably help you a lot in figuring this out, however if you need help I can reach out to you on instagram and try to give you a hand. Believe it or not, you helped me a lot with your videos when I was going through a tough time, and it's only fair that I try to help back where I can. Keep it up!

    You have a nice garden. I left you quite a few compliments on your Instagram account, have to say it’s always a bit disappointing when you tubers ask to follow on social media but they can’t find the time to like a comment, answer a question OR even return the favor to check the garden of the person who’s constantly “liking”. We do like to see ❤❤ on our photos too 😂
