I love how they managed to translate almost all of his skills from LoL into LoR, and in ways that make a lot of sense thematically and gameplay-wise. Great job design team!

@@olmollmk6681 these cards are based on their lore. Just imagine how broken garen would be if he had a silence, a kill effect, and barrier, all while also having high stats and rally. They're not supposed to be like in league of legends, some just happen to be easier to incorporate in legends of runeterra, that's why you see a lot of similarity in their kit, and also because their LoL versions are also based on lore.
I'm hype for the interactions between Ekko and Jinx.
But Ekko x Taliyah tho...

I like the part where he answers Nasus, showing that he had fought him before and lost. And he had to go back in time to fight again, until he won.

Ekko's Chronobreak + Zilean's Level 2 Effect: Endless Chronobreak
I don't think that would work because the new Chronobreak would be fleeting and Zilean's level 2 Passive doesn't copy fleeting cards.
Not endless, but you can use it twice.

@@MartinG1993 irelia is a issue because anyone decent plays her in range for some of her recall tools or switch places with an ally or some of the deny, zoe is always in danger but if you ain't quick she's going to get spell shield and bonus from targon
Their own regions have tons of tools to protect them, probably the two regions with more tools to protect units in fact

He can’t fast forward time. He puts anchors in moments he wants to go back to, and he can only move back like a minute max I believe.

When Ekko is asking "What's up Shomi? Liking the new board?" I immediately thought he was talking about a new board in-game. Nice meta-reference to the digital game.
The animations of the level-up and of the various abilities are out of this world. I love the character, I love his design, I love the theme of the deck, his interactions with the other cards, I love everything about this video. Well done design team. Now I have to wait for 12-year-old Mogwai to lose his sh#% and rewatch the trailer a couple of times.

There's a difference between burst rally (blade dance) than the normal rally we have. I think you can see which one is toxic.

Well Ekko got some of the most horryfyingly effective combo spells of them all. Good thing Chronobreak and Paralel Convergence aren't spells you have direct access to.
Yeah i feel like its fair - it seems they are both needed to be created and put into the deck. Having that much delay/unreliablity doesnt seem too unfair.

I'm almost on the verge of tears... I've been waiting for ekko since bilgewater when I first saw him in the piltover cinematic. This showcase, his cards, THE GODDAMN THEME, I'm so pumped.
Ekko's one of my favorite champions in League so I'm glad they managed to do a beautiful job porting his theme here.
Too bad that couldn't get the old voice actor. The new one sounds too young compared to the old one.
Saame, i love him and everything looks great and the new interactions but hearing him use league quotes feels so out of play, i love his league voice, came up first as i got him in aram before i even knew anything else and i just- i liked him instantly to try and main him. They did a great job.

Yea, he is supposed to be 17 year old, who experienced death of his close friend and well, still lives in hard reality of Zaun, but he is sounding like careless 15 year old from Piltover.
It’s a different voice actor I think.
@Random Username He is still rather optimistic, he is confident in his abilities and a cocky about them. He want best for Zaun and want to be a part of its growth. But he is does not sound as care free as here. There is also anger at Piltover and Piltoverans. He knows that changing time can't always fix everything. He knows his limitations (even if he sometimes overestimates his chances).
LoR happend during the timeline before J4 was a king and Senna captured in Tresh's Lantern so it's make sense if Ekko sounds younger

You know, one thing I love about these trailers is that they showcase the new champs playing against actual meta decks, and gameplay isn't painfully staged either.
Big props for that. It really helps sell the champ design.
honestly.. recently I see they are trying to make ways to beat meta decks,kinda nice to see even tho I haven't played it in a while
The reksai trailer was against a Taliyah/landmark deck, one of the slowest archetypes is the game. It still looked cool, but landmarks aren't quite meta.
@@Nwordsoup it's mainly for Taliyah interaction with the Queen. After patch another Azirelia nerf meta will slow down, so landmark will be playable

@@Nwordsoup The Taliyah buff will help with that. In a deck where most of your landmarks have countdown and you're actively incentivized to pop them, having a landmark when Taliyah attacks to get her better skill was surprisingly hard. Now it should be much easier.

Ekko is 17 years old + all the days/months/years? from reliving some moments.
His friend died on his watch, what left the scar on his frivolous nature.
He is living in harsh reality of Zaun, where kids should mature faster.
He may be mischievous teenage boy. But he also knows reality. I think LoR version is sounding too immature for his lore.
He could be younger, LoR has a habbit of showing things in the past like Ezreal wearing his old outfit. signfiying he is 16-18 not his current age of 20. There's a lot of hints suggesting some thing are literally their past pre-legends state and the level ups be them becoming the champion, we don't know if all of this is presently happening. it's weird. their timelines inconsistent. I'm glad to see a more playful side of him but i agree, his voice especially in contrast to his league voice sounds too young. I miss all the tonal indicators on his old voice.
Maybe he is the ekko before his friend died, it could be because we have yone before he was kill and normal senna.
The developers have already clarified that the cards in lor are represented at a time of their life which can be the past for example malphite is in Targon while in the present of the game he moved to Piltover and was born in ixtal

It's been that way for awhile unfortunately.
It's harm to get the same VA Because of the pandemic and im pretty sure th VA did his best so it's still fine to me as long as will make the game more "FUN"
I hate how they're teplacing every VA. These new voices don't sound good at all. Ekko and Taliyah were both supposed to be really young but chill ppl but that calmness is not in their new voices. Taliyah legit sound horrible and Ekko is meh.

I just hope it wasn't a conscious decision to replace them and has to to with the state of the world making it harder for original VAs to be used.
