    Between this video and my new VLS Maxvert 1 Driver, I am now 50-60 yards longer off the tee. I am now out driving others in my 4-some that used to outdrive me a ton. They are amazed. Thank you, Todd!!!!!!

    Excellent, concise summary. Thank you.
    I will try your tips & hope to gain some yards.
    You make it look easy, but you have been doing this for quite a few years.
    I am 79 years old & losing distance rather than driving longer.
    However , I am still alive & playing golf !!
    I have found your videos very helpful.

    Todd, I thought in an earlier lesson you had stated to close the stance by dropping the trailing foot back slightly. That’s what I’ve been doing. It really helps me establish an in to out path with the club head in order to reduce the tendency to slice. Very good results…for me. Side note…a popular airline broke my driver. I replaced the shaft with a regular flex. Little did I know the other was a high flex. Result is much more solid contact and distance (sample size of one round!). But I’ll heed your advice on hand position, as the trajectory is now lower. Gotta keep hitting fairway finders!

    Thanks, Coach truly enjoyed this one.
    As you know driving is my weakness but it's getting better, last week I hit a draw 275 yards, soooooooo in essence I CAN DO IT!!!!!!
    Tomorrow is no work, no golf game but golf practice and yes driver will be the 2nd to last thing I do.
    My lesson plan:
    1st putting short to middle distance.
    2nd chipping
    3rd pitching
    4th wedge play around the green including sand which I love.
    5th limited amount of irons 9, 7, 5.
    6th driver, the reason being I want to build my practice confidence 1st to be in the right mindset.
    7th finish off with my ultimate favourite mix putting lag and middle distance.

      275 yard draws with driver hardly sounds like a weakness Cordell! 😂

    Todd, Tom from Nashville here. Two questions on driver: (1) hover club head vs. rest on turf at address, (2) club head a few inches behind ball at address vs. almost touching ball?

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  Рік тому

      Tom, yes. I like to see the hover of the clubhead for the driver just off the ground and slightly behind the ball.

    Thanks Todd. I have your book and am struggling with too steep a backswing. Simple question, do I need to shallow on the downswing or should it be a one plane swing. I’m 58, 22 handicap from Liverpool

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  Рік тому +1

      Good question. Make sure you are letting the trail leg release and getting a full hip turn. It is the hip turn that gives you the "around" and depth you need in the swing. Hope that helps.

    From Northeast NJ. The MaxVert driver arrived last night. Before I take it to the local range I am curious if there is any additional swing advice for the MaxVert other than your normal driver technique. Thanks

    What do you recommend for best launch angle.

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  Рік тому +1

      Really depends on clubhead speed. Higher launch for slower speeds. The key is to get a high launch with low spin.

    I only hit my driver 190. My loft is 12. Would higher loft help? I'm a senior.

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  Рік тому

      12 degrees of loft is typically good. Are you hitting the ball in the center of the face?

    • @USGOLFTVshow

      Played Titleist for years, however the new MaxVert is solid for slower swing speeds.

    Took me 6 months, thousands of balls and lessons with a coach to understand what you just explained in this video in 11 minutes. I hope more people in my position 6 months back find this video.
    That forward press is the DEATH of your driver. Pair it with a huge in to out path and a nice closed club face and watch the duck hook with 227 backspin snap off into the bushes to the left 137 yards away. 😂
