I loved A-ha I once camped outside Morten Harkets house in Kensington and left him chocolate mouse as it was his favourite.... According to a Smash Hits article!
Early on I came to the conclusion that when it comes to a-ha it is best to have a completely open mind for what the next song will bring. Each song has it’s own life. They can bring you almost anything. A-ha has lots of catchy songs that captivate you directly after one listen (and then probably for ever). But still these songs often are kind of deep. Many of their songs go deep. You have to get under their skin somehow. And when you do, you get them. The interplay between the lyrics, instrumental, flow, voice and composition makes up their true soul. You don’t just listen to the songs anymore. You feel or experience them. Hopefully you continue the journey. Maybe you’ll find some gold you didn’t expect.
I see you have a reaction to I’ve been losing you coming up, that’s also from the live set that sycamore leaves was taken from. Also a brilliant live performance of rolling thunder on that set.
Funny that you mention U2 and Coldplay. There are many who believe that the songwriters from U2 was undoubtedly inspired by a-ha's "The sun always shines on TV" when they wrote "Beautiful day", they even use the words "Touch me". Chris Martin in Coldplay is a self-proclaimed fan of a-ha, and says that without a-ha, there wouldn't have been any Coldplay. So here you can debate who came first, the chicken or the egg. Presumably the inspiration has gone both ways.
@@reiserdu A-ha continued to create music after 1996, and they've certainly evolved since 1983, but also since 1996. They haven't created music in a vacuum.
Hunting high and low was the first album Chris Martin bought. the song is about committing to a friend in a time of need. No matter what is needed or it takes you will do it. This is from their new album released this October. I’m amazed at this point you are listening to so much a-ha considering they really ain’t your style of music or band. a-ha are true legends and have a lot of famous fans.
@@markwebster7435 Actually one patreon who finds it interesting what a non fan of a-ha has to say about their music. Many reactors brag about the music to get viewers. Besides, it's fun if it's possible to find something he likes. A little while longer. Haha
You don t like a-ha, never liked one song, your music taste sucks anyway, so I don t care about your opinion about a-ha, but that s ok, we like like different kind of music
