Spirit 65DH for sale.
A captivatingly good-looking Spirit 65DH with a deck saloon that is in perfect proportion. Delivered late 2021, she is a new yacht. She is fitted with twin electric drives and the aim of this yacht is to achieve a carbon neutral position, with her propulsion systems and wind power. Extraordinary and bespoke interior in walnut with far too many unique features to sensibly list here.

That's enough to give me a stiff upper lip and a cut-glass public schoolboy accent. Vewy, vewy nice, old chap. Shaken, not stirred. Never mind the bollocks. Put on The Sex Pistols. Vewy nice presentation, Sue. The hairy arms gave me a start. Whew! They belong to Harry. How well is a cold-moulded Khaya ivorensis mahogany hull suited for tropical waters? Toredo borers a problem? What a stylish boat though! Time to air out the Brioni.

Always liked spirit, even worked there for a while, very happy with the new deck house design, never liked the slanted design of the dog house on their earlier yachts. Tasty bit of kit. I'd buy it if I won the lottery.
Agree about the slanted dog house design but if that's the only drawback to having one. Well, ho hum :-)

Which rather begs the question as to why the owner is selling her having owned her for less than a year - is there something wrong with her???

I am absolutely speechless. In fact, my mouth is hanging open. The furnishings are divine. The China is to die for and if that was not enough, the bathroom sinks blew my mind! I applaud her for her fine taste and bringing it forth on a yacht. Stunning!!

What I do not quite understand: Where is the power for those electric drives supposed to come from? I've seen no solar panels or wind generator, so other than a diesel generator (which somehow kills the idea of gong green) the only way to charge batteries would be by using the drives as generators - which only works while the boat is underway...
SOJ runs on 21kW Lithium Valance batteries. Her systems are very efficient and when the twin Oceanvolt Variable pitch saildrives are running they will regenerate the batteries. The generator is a back up. The batteries provide solid endurance for the ship’s systems when she is under sail which is most of the time, and she also charges from shore power when on the dock. On long passages if she is motor sailing the drives will regenerate. If she is sailing with full crew onboard and showers, cooking and services over a number of days not using the drives, it is likely that the generator will need to be used for a short period.
