Good choice to let the designer present the boat and its features. Those classic lines will never go out of fashion. Must be very special to go around the world in that vessel.
Has to be in the top 5 most beautiful yachts I've ever laid my eyes on in years of watching these videos. Extremely great design. Wish I was in the budget range to own and operate. Amazing naval architecture.
Wow! I've been hitherto almost entirely captivated by motor yachts, and leaning towards the bigger ones. However the idea of circumnavigating the globe in a sailing yacht this beautiful is very tempting.
Sailing yachts are not my style, but I hope whoever takes her enjoys. Seems to be a lot of up and down movement for relatively calm waters at 4:26, though.
Porpoising - possibly because she is not fully fuelled and provisioned. But I would agree not the most comfortable movement in a relatively calm sea state.
I was wondering if someone else was noticing the continual nosedive, hobbyhorse action in such a pleasant seastate. Thanks for confirming what I was seeing. I understand people want to say only nice things about such a pretty lady but, that was hard to miss.
Yes I noticed that as well, and thought there is nothing like a good old long keel. Either the entry is too fine, or the drop keel is too heavy in the centre of the boat, introducing the hobby horsing.
Beautiful yacht, I like the interior. It suits the ship's design, pretty much what you'd expect it to look inside when you see the ship from the outside.
Wow! Not the first colour scheme I'd have thought of choosing, but it's SO lovely inside and looks to be very practically thought out. Most new boats are based around double cabins, it's nice to see a boat that has various sleeping options 👍
This is the only sailing yacht that I intend to buy. I want this for its aluminum hull, ketch rig, and centerboard and spacious configuration to bond with my children as we explore during the summer and winter vacations and to rent it out for charters when not in use.
Is this good for the Arctic and Antarctic? The hull as strongly reinforced the Garcia 60 to withstand accidental impact with debris(containers, logs, etc.) and floating ice? Would this have a hull as strong as a Garcia or aPelagic?
The boat doesn't look light and seems to be on her waterline. The sea is calm with a full set of sails. With all that , why does she bob-about so much. Way too much action - makes you seasick. Great looking boat.
The number 1 priority of any blue water cruiser should be the galley and this this doesn't disappoint. Are you really going to spend over a million dollars and have a kitchen that's little bigger than a kitchen found on some 1980s winnebago when your ship is designed to sail around the world for weeks at a time?
I really like the Giest but the deck saloon and "tails" of the Spirit of Venice is a strong contender. I wonder how the "tails" would look on the Geist
They are davits. The dinghy is hung from them and lowered vertically into the water so they must "stick out at the back" or they don't work. Most experienced long-distance sailors consider them un-seaworthy which is why blue water yachts above a certain size do not have them if they can avoid it. The dinghy is usually stored upside-down on the fore-deck, which this boat has the space for, so it is quite unusual, and, as you say, not easy on the eyes.
If you watch the longer range drone shots, you can see that there is considerable swell, despite the otherwise calm appearance of the sea. Couple that with very little wind (in some shots you can see that the engine is running), being extremely close-hauled, and it's not surprising that she is pitching. But you would be surprised how little you feel it when on-board.
This owners brief was very close to mine but I added a electric square sail Elley Grey was built in 2012 so if you don’t have 2’5 million Elley is just £595 .
Give me a classic design sailboat any day. This ship is stunning. I could not agree more with the designer. If you have to spend a lot of time explaining you did something wrong!
Many good things about this yacht, but that cramped up master cabin for a 75 foot hull and 90 foot overall length 2.7 mill USD boat, sorry to say it; it’a a turd !
Is it my idea or does this yacht have too pronounced frontal roll? What will be the problem here, the poor position of the mast, the little ballast in the belly? I have never seen a boat of that size with that rocking, in this video the sea is very calm, too calm I would say, but the poor boat rocks like crazy
Luck is 0.0001% Hard work is 100% .... instead of waiting to get lucky, start working hard and get lucky.... Hard work and investing in yourself is the best investment ever. a fellow creator][
Hard work is less important than being able to delay gratification. However hard work is 'more' important than intelligence. That said, if you can combine the three, delayed gratification, hard work and intelligence, you have it made. Virtually any dream could be achieved by such a person.
No doubt she is a beautiful ship save for the eye destroying davits and the fake teak deck. Personally I would heve omitted the nameboards as well. There are some flaws in the interior which explains (may be) why she is for sale.
This is not a good design. The wooden dog house on a white hull looks odd, and so many parts of the design clash. The red color of the wood on the interior looks harsh, as do the tartan covered seats. Money can't buy good taste I guess.
So refreshing to see a classic sailing yacht design - they never lose their appeal. Gracious lines and comfortable spaces.
Ah, I love figureheads, and you rarely see them anymore. Nice touch. Beautiful boat, and brilliant layout 😊
So many cool things about this yacht. Low maintenance, easy to sail, spacious and comfortable and looks amazing. Really cool.
Good choice to let the designer present the boat and its features. Those classic lines will never go out of fashion. Must be very special to go around the world in that vessel.
Wow, she is absoluly gorgeous!!! Very nice hearing the designer talk us thru the boat and some of its features!
Nothing like a classic sailing yacht design, they are the grand ladies of the sea. Wonderful video of a beautiful yacht.
In the day of production yatchs its great to see a classic sailing yacht, that can travel worldwide in real comfort. Good job
Has to be in the top 5 most beautiful yachts I've ever laid my eyes on in years of watching these videos. Extremely great design. Wish I was in the budget range to own and operate. Amazing naval architecture.
Good Job Mr. van Meer! She looks absolutely beautiful and seems to move gently through the waves.
Great yacht and video! Really enjoyed hearing some of the story and ideas behind the design! :)
Wow! I've been hitherto almost entirely captivated by motor yachts, and leaning towards the bigger ones. However the idea of circumnavigating the globe in a sailing yacht this beautiful is very tempting.
Gracious ladies of the sea..... beautiful and resilient taming the wild waters with ease and grace ❤
Sailing yachts are not my style, but I hope whoever takes her enjoys. Seems to be a lot of up and down movement for relatively calm waters at 4:26, though.
Agreed. As I was watching this video I kept thinking that there was a lot of pitch movement for calm waters.
Porpoising - possibly because she is not fully fuelled and provisioned.
But I would agree not the most comfortable movement in a relatively calm sea state.

@@billbligh4547 I agree with you, no doubt heavy ground tackle probably added to it as well.
Now that is a beautiful sailing yacht 🥰
The most gorgeous boat I have ever seen
Simply stunning!

So beautiful, I could see myself sailing around the world on this beauty.
Now THAT is a classic yacht.
I love that interior great design👍
Lovely yacht. But the best thing here is your video production, truly professional and so well thought and planned out.
Well done!
Now this is one heck of a yacht, with a great classic design. Love it.
Hi David. Absolutely stunning yacht. Classic lines, gentleman's club feel. Plenty of deck spaces for socialising. Great walkthrough Thanks 😊
Amazing video, as usual. Thanks for the care you take to show us these amazing creations !
As perfect a living yacht as I've ever seen. Superb video too.
Love the woodwork. Just gorgeous.
Well, as much as I love the design, and the beauty of a cutter rig ketch, I think the in mast fuller is a deal breaker for me.
Simply lovely.
In my opinion a Gaff rig would have looked stunning too.
Fabulous yacht..right up my alley. 👍🍹
Fantastique ! parfois on voudrait être riche pour pouvoir s offrir un beau navire comme celui ci ! Bravo au designer
Absolutely beautiful!
The designers comments gave an understanding of the yacht beyond a simple walk through.
Beautiful boat! i love this one.
Is this good for the Arctic and Antarctic? The hull as strongly reinforced the Garcia 60 to withstand accidental impact with debris(containers, logs, etc.) and floating ice? Would this have a hull as strong as a Garcia or aPelagic?
From Roger
She pitches quite a bit. Should have gone for the recommended schooner rig.
Bellissima complimenti! ❤
Holy moly, look at that boat hobbyhorse
Simply beautiful.
Amazing boat!
Awesome 👌👌👌
She glide the water beautifully.
It looks extremely wobbly even at anchor you need to have your sea legs and your sea stomach for sure on that boat😮
A true classic sailboat
First non-bot comment. Hi David! Hope to see you in Cannes...
I'll be there!
The boat doesn't look light and seems to be on her waterline. The sea is calm with a full set of sails. With all that , why does she bob-about so much. Way too much action - makes you seasick.
Great looking boat.
Why is Croatian flag framed on "Spirit of Venezia"?
Because they don't like Serbs ?
Is the sprit of Venice still on the market?
i Really like this Yacht
Très beau voilier mais l'intérieur est d'un style un peu phantasmes très beau mais très personnel 👍👍👍🙂
It's speaks for itself only the best can say that

Hello of a ketch 😃
the bathtub goes crazy
Beautiful!
Is the Spirit of Venezia still for sail?
I really like the Giest but the deck saloon and "tails" of the Spirit of Venice is a strong contender. I wonder how the "tails" would look on the Geist
I am stunned. Why is this yacht so cheap? A custom design build in aluminum . What's her cruise speed?
a bit heavy on the bow?
Those two fins that stick out at the back like a bat mobile aren't easy on the eyes. Why not opt to make the boat longer?
They are davits. The dinghy is hung from them and lowered vertically into the water so they must "stick out at the back" or they don't work.

wow... tradition will always supercede spaceship technology !
🤔 This a beautiful yacht but I notice she is “hobby horsing” in relatively calm water.

Im glad to see the price was finally put at the end @ #13:20 However the "+" should be a "£" ?
I want this as my only sailing yacht.
How much?
Compro 4 embarcações dessa classe para a marinha do Brasil
I just noticed that too much movement
Off the boat even on relatively calm seas …❗️
The rest is beautiful.
Wow!
For sale?
Well done
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
The yacht appears somewhat bow-heavy.
Beautiful. If i ever get the money.
Are we all going to ignore that you can’t see ahead from the helm unless standing on a crate?
Give me a classic design sailboat any day. This ship is stunning. I could not agree more with the designer. If you have to spend a lot of time explaining you did something wrong!
Compro 90 embarcações dessa classe para a marinha do Brasil Rio de Janeiro
Rather awkward interior layout, will be quite difficult to sell…
Aft is too high. Forward seems lower somehow. Also I did not like the davitt

Hello everyone
Beautiful work nothing like those new shitty productions boat
Sounds like Bro has had some unpleasant history concerning primates.
Le gru di poppa sonno orrende e lo specchio di poppa sembra mozzato. Per il resto molto bella
this yacht cannot withstand the storm and big waves.
Hi, can you elaborate on this ?
@@MrVincent7719 not design for explorer
Rocks like a hobbyhorse. I would puke in an hour.

Normal, there is a small swell running.
Do you mean imagination?

I would of had 2 masted schonner same length masts cutter rigged
That choice of colour for the inside was gross.. So nah, i wouldn't touch it for 10 dollars. It would cost a fortune to fix all that wood.. 😔
No doubt she is a beautiful ship save for the eye destroying davits and the fake teak deck. Personally I would heve omitted the nameboards as well. There are some flaws in the interior which explains (may be) why she is for sale.
Bloody ketch, why not a Schooner, get me a Schooner, gaff rigged.
Build it and stop whining, Karen.
I feel sick when I see aluminum hulled boats, it is the most unseaworthy material.
This is not a good design. The wooden dog house on a white hull looks odd, and so many parts of the design clash. The red color of the wood on the interior looks harsh, as do the tartan covered seats. Money can't buy good taste I guess.
Dutch design, engineering, and construction... he called it Spirit of Venice... mah
The video is missing a proper walkthrough. But overall the boat is amazing and the designer explained it well 🤍
Great yacht and video! Really enjoyed hearing some of the story and ideas behind the design! :)
