I had a schipperke growing up who knew how to “say” my name. If my mother was calling me, my dog would come find me and give 2 short connected yodels (kind of a Roo-Roooo!) to let me know. She only did that when “referring” to me. Incredibly smart little doggos!
I STILL THINK ABOUT MY LITTLE SKIPPY, HE WAS LIKE A CARTOON CHARACTER, MY FRIENDS SAID. HE D SIT ON MY LAP IN THE CAR,PUT HIS PAWS ON THE WHEEL AND ,THOUGHT HE WAS DRIVING THE CAR. HE D SNAP AT ANY CAR OR TRUCK THAT WOULD GO PAST US. HE D SIT UP AND WAVE HIS PAWS WHEN HE WANTED SOMETHING. HE WOULD DO THIS CRAZY SNAPPY THING TOO,NOT A MEAN SNAP..ONE OF THOSE ,I WANT SOMETHING SNAPS. I COULD SPELL A WORD AND HE KNEW WHAT IT MENT...HOW? I WAS LIKE HE COULD READ MY MIND. SCHIPPERKE DOGS ARE REALY FUN , BUT, WHEN THE LEAVE YOU,YOUR HEART WILL BREAK, MINE DID...
You can raise anything you if you put your mind to it, you just gotta accept the facts and give it what it needs no matter how hard it is, otherwise give it to someone else. Just a friendly suggestion.
@@candicewilliams408 I as well rescued a mix, who I'm certain is part schipperke as my first dog. Like your's he's mixed with something bigger, he's about 30lbs, I think he's mixed with Australian kelpie. He was god awful with other dogs when I first got him(about 3 years ago), he'd be lunging while on leash when he saw another. I had to get his attention by shaking some coins or shoving a treat directly into his line-of-sight. However, now, it's more than manageable. I still can't really go to dog parks with him(I haven't done the best job of socializing him tbh), he was about 7 when I got him so he was quite stuck in his ways, but I can sometimes walk past other dogs without even a growl out of him, and he doesn't cry like he's been kidnapped everytime he steps in the car anymore, and he can be in the backyard at the same time as the neighbors dog without barking away and trying to pick a fight anymore, and it may not seem like much but it's a lot of progress and I'm happy with it. Consistency(and snacks) is key, good luck! Enjoy your unhinged black fur-ball of joy in all her glory
a year ago we got a dog from a pet place that wasnt treating their dogs the correct way and was horrible they told us our dog was a full blooded pom but as he got older he would continue to get taller than any pom ive ever seen were suspecting that he is a pom schipperke mix
@@schipperkemunchie4907 He's a beautiful Schipperke! He's got such a happy face! I'm on my third Schipperke - 2.5 year old male Luca. My last two were females. Luca is more affectionate, but also more aggressive & energetic than the girls. My last two came from Sylvia Way, a breeder in southern Indiana. She has good Schipperkes, reasonably priced ($450 males, $500 females). They are such amazing dogs.

Rest in peace skippy the good dog👼
They look like cute little demons 😂😂😂
Our Schipperke "whoooos" and grunts. We named him Hootie.
Even though he can't "talk", my dog talks to me all the time. They find ways to let you know what they want.
I HAD A SCHIPPERKE, MY FIRST DOG. HE PASSED AWSY AT 12 AND A HALF.
I CRIED EVERYDAY FOR OVER A YEAR. MY DAUGHTER GOT ME A YORKYPOO, I LOVE HER
My schip does the same noise, except this noise is reserved for “look at meeeee pay attention to meeee” only.
Freakin Adorable. I don’t care if they aren’t for first time dog owners. I’m gettin’ one.

@@JOHNHOOK1966 does Sylvia have a Facebook, or any way to contact her about getting a schip?
@@brentkilgore5182 Google "Sylvia Way Schipperke" and you'll find breeder sites you can contact her through.
