i have always wondered people who are intelligent enough to agree that Mohanlal is the best actor in the country, puts Kamal Hassan in the same league.Don't know is it because people are afraid that what would others feel about him/her when he doesn't say Kamal as one of the best actors,because of Kamal's popularity and acceptance by ppl. But I dont mind considering him the master of all as related to movies.Though I dont feel him a GREAT actor as people say :)

@kangarofirst I completely agree with you.mohanlal WAS the GOD of acting in the 80s and 90s.No one including mammooty could touch him. Post 2000 his acting abilities has drastically come down.People blame it on script, direction etc, but the fact is that mohanlal is still acting with the same directors like Joshiy, sathyan anthikad etc...and still his effortlessnes which made him the best is gone.Maybe its coz he cannot control his ability while mamooty has improved a lot. i like him better now

I agree with Faisuzizou Faisu...Vishnu V mohan...First learn to respect others religion...Mohanlal has his won way of acting and I would describe him as one of the best natural actors in India..Mammooty's way of acting is different from Mohanlal..and thats evident from their movies...the way Mohanlal enacts emotional/comedy scenes are same in all his movies but they are natural and convincing......and the way Mammooty enacts an emotional/comedy scenes are different in his movies and they are according to the character which is called getting into the skin of the character...the reason for this difference is their approach...Mohanlal believes acting is behaving...and hence you can see similar mohanlal mannerisms in each of his characters...while Mammoory's approach is method acting...actually you cannot compare these two great actors....i was initially a fan of mohanlal but then became fan of mammooty after i watched a lot of mammooty movies.....and as far as natural acting is concerned..I would say Sathyan Sir is the best..

I agree with everything. But what do you mean by methodical actor. I always felt Kamal hassan over reacts and sometimes he brings up emotions that we've never ever seen or in my views a normal human being would even make.However, he is someone who's in a differnt league. In the league of Satyajith Raj,in malayalam Sreenivasan etc. Hes a genius in all aspects of movie making but never acting. I feel Mohanlal>Mamukka>Kamal . Its just a thought :)

i have always wondered people who are intelligent enough to agree that Mohanlal is the best actor in the country, puts Kamal Hassan in the same league.Don't know is it because people are afraid that what would others feel about him/her when he doesn't say Kamal as one of the best actors,because of Kamal's popularity and acceptance by ppl. But I dont mind considering him the master of all as related to movies.Though I dont feel him a GREAT actor as people say :)

Mammookka is a great actor no matter what. I have seen Mammooka films and Lal films. I love mammooka's facial expressions when he act sad stories. Nobody can defeat that. I never got that satisfaction with Lal. He has been in industry over thirty years and he is Mega star. Now some people start worrying about his acting. Now they think he doesn't know how to act. @kangarofirst I completely agree with you.mohanlal WAS the GOD of acting in the 80s and 90s.No one including mammooty could touch him. Post 2000 his acting abilities has drastically come down.People blame it on script, direction etc, but the fact is that mohanlal is still acting with the same directors like Joshiy, sathyan anthikad etc...and still his effortlessnes which made him the best is gone.Maybe its coz he cannot control his ability while mamooty has improved a lot. i like him better now

I agree with Faisuzizou Faisu...Vishnu V mohan...First learn to respect others religion...Mohanlal has his won way of acting and I would describe him as one of the best natural actors in India..Mammooty's way of acting is different from Mohanlal..and thats evident from their movies...the way Mohanlal enacts emotional/comedy scenes are same in all his movies but they are natural and convincing......and the way Mammooty enacts an emotional/comedy scenes are different in his movies and they are according to the character which is called getting into the skin of the character...the reason for this difference is their approach...Mohanlal believes acting is behaving...and hence you can see similar mohanlal mannerisms in each of his characters...while Mammoory's approach is method acting...actually you cannot compare these two great actors....i was initially a fan of mohanlal but then became fan of mammooty after i watched a lot of mammooty movies.....and as far as natural acting is concerned..I would say Sathyan Sir is the best..

പൊതുവെ മികച്ച അഭിനേതാക്കളായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന തിലകൻ, മുരളി, നെടുമുടി വേണു, ജഗതി എന്നിവരും അവരവരായിത്തന്നെ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നവരാണ്. വളരെ അപൂർവമായി വ്യക്തിഗത പേഴ്സൊണയ്ക്കു പുറത്തിറങ്ങാൻ ഇവർക്കും സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതേസമയം മമ്മൂട്ടിയ്ക്ക് രണ്ടുതരം അഭിനയമുള്ളതായി തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ജനപ്രിയസിനിമകളിൽ പരിതാപകരമാം വിധം അമിതാഭിനയം നടത്തുന്ന മമ്മൂട്ടി തന്നെ അടൂരിനെപ്പോലുള്ള മികച്ച സംവിധായകരുടെ സിനിമകളിലും ഭൂതക്കണ്ണാടി പോലെ സാധ്യതകളുള്ള കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോഴും സൂക്ഷ്മാഭിനയം നിർവഹിക്കുന്നതും കഥാപാത്രമായി രൂപാന്തരപ്പെടുന്നതും കാണാം. എന്നാൽ മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ കാര്യത്തിലും, അമിതാഭിനയവും ചേഷ്ടകളുമാണ് താരാരാധകർക്ക് പ്രിയം.
ആദ്യം സൂചിപ്പിച്ച IMDb-യിലെ യൂസർ ലിസ്റ്റിലേക്ക് വന്നാൽ, ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള മികച്ച നടന്മാരുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടം പിടിക്കാനുള്ള മേന്മ ഇവർക്കാർക്കെങ്കിലുമുണ്ടോ? എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള ഏതു ലിസ്റ്റും വലിയ അളവിൽ വ്യക്തിനിഷ്ഠമാണെന്നാണ്. ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നയാളുടെ കാഴ്ചാശീലങ്ങളും ക്രൈറ്റീരിയകളും മാറുന്നതിനനുസരിച്ച് ലിസ്റ്റ് മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. ക്ലാവുസ് കിൻസ്കി അഭിനയിച്ച സിനിമകൾ കാണാൻ അവസരം കിട്ടിയിട്ടില്ലാത്തവർ അയാളുടെ അഭിനയമികവ് അറിയണമെന്നില്ലല്ലോ. ബോക്സോഫീസ് കളക്ഷനുണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നതാണു മികച്ച നടനാകാനുള്ള ക്രൈറ്റീരിയ എന്നു കരുതുന്നയാൾ ലിസ്റ്റുണ്ടാക്കിയാൽ രജനീകാന്ത് ലിസ്റ്റിൽ വന്നാലും ഷോൺ പെൻ വരണമെന്നില്ല. ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ രംഗങ്ങളിലെ ഭാവപ്രകടനം എന്നതിലുപരി ഒരു കഥാപാത്രത്തെ ബൗദ്ധികമായും കായികമായും രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയെടുക്കുന്നതിലാണ് നടന്റെ/നടിയുടെ ക്രിയേറ്റിവിറ്റി എന്നു ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. സ്വന്തം ശരീരഭാഷയും ചേഷ്ടകളുമൊക്കെ ഒഴിവാക്കി, പുതിയൊരു മനുഷ്യനെത്തന്നെ കൂടു തുറന്നു വിടുന്ന പരിപാടി. ഇത് മലയാളത്തിൽ അപൂർവമായേ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളൂ. ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ രംഗങ്ങളിലെ ഭാവപ്രകടനം എന്നതിനേക്കാൾ ഈ ക്രിയേറ്റിവിറ്റിയാണു അഭിനേതാക്കളെ വിലയിരുത്താനുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രധാന ക്രൈറ്റീരിയകളിലൊന്ന്. ഇവിടെത്തന്നെയാണു മലയാളത്തിലെ നടീനടന്മാർ പരാജയപ്പെടുന്നതും. അതു പക്ഷേ നടീനടന്മാരുടെ പരിമിതി എന്നതിനേക്കാൾ മലയാളം ഫിലിം ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയുടെ പരിമിതിയായിട്ടാണു ഞാൻ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നത്. കഥാപാത്ര കേന്ദ്രീകൃതസിനിമകളോ പ്രിസിഷൻ സിനിമകളോ നമുക്കില്ല. മെത്തേഡ് ആക്ടിംഗ് പോലെയുള്ള രീതികൾ പരീക്ഷിക്കുക എന്നത് മലയാളത്തിലെ സിനിമാനിർമ്മാണരീതികളും സിനിമകളും സംവിധായകരും ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. പരിമിതമായ അംഗീകാരങ്ങളും പ്രതിഫലവും, അത്രയും മെനക്കെട്ട് അഭിനയിക്കാനുള്ള മോട്ടിവേഷൻ നടീനടന്മാർക്ക് നൽകുന്നുമില്ല. ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ, നിർഭാഗ്യവശാൽ, ഇവരുടെ അഭിനയമികവ് ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്താൻമാത്രം അറിവും കഴിവുമുള്ള സംവിധായകർ നമുക്കില്ലാതെ പോയി. മമ്മൂട്ടിയോടും മോഹൻലാലിനോടും എനിക്ക് സഹതാപമാണുള്ളത്. ഒരു ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയെത്തന്നെ മാറ്റിമറിക്കാൻ തക്ക പൊട്ടൻഷ്യൽ കൈയിൽ വന്നിട്ടും സ്വന്തം ഇമേജിന്റെ തടവറയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോയവരാണവർ.

I agree with everything. But what do you mean by methodical actor. I always felt Kamal hassan over reacts and sometimes he brings up emotions that we've never ever seen or in my views a normal human being would even make.However, he is someone who's in a differnt league. In the league of Satyajith Raj,in malayalam Sreenivasan etc. Hes a genius in all aspects of movie making but never acting. I feel Mohanlal>Mamukka>Kamal . Its just a thought :)

@rammohanv It's the script matters man.. directors alla.. Bharatavum kirredavum thaniyavarthanum edutha sibiyanu violin edukunnathu Fazil Moz & cat.. satyan. Innathe chintavishayam.. .. I'm sure if a good script comes... no actor can match Mohanlal... just take some glimpses from Thanmatra, Bramaram, pakal Nakshatrangal.... the born actor is there stil there.. inside him. Mammooty have improved a lot I agreee. But can never recah the level of Mohanlal..

i have always wondered why people who are intelligent enough to agree that Mohanlal is the best actor in the country, put Kamal Hassan in the same league.Don't know is it because people are afraid that what would others feel about him/her when he doesn't say Kamal as one of the best actors,because of Kamal's popularity and acceptance by ppl. But I dont mind considering him the master of all as related to movies.Though I dont feel him a GREAT actor as people say :)
