Thanks Yardie, your video helped me out so much. I just did this for my in-laws and saved them 500 bucks. Took me about 30 minutes and was perfect for a nissan rogue 2016
Just replaced mine took 30min, hardest part was the disconnection of the wire from the motor, mine was melted a bit. But the whole process worked for a 2016 nissan rouge! Thanks!
Great video, very clear and helpful. A few minor points relating to my experience with my 2017 Rogue SL AWD Platimum Reserve. My car has a white plastic wire box attached to the left edge of the dash trim (the part behind the glove box that you flex to squeeze the blower motor assembly in and out). This will definitely get in the way, as does the presence of several metal brackets behind the plastic trim. You need to be willing to flex and squeeze the trim - the blower will eventually fit. Also, the white wiring harness male plug attached to the old motor is a pain to remove - you may need to crack the locking clip, or gently warm the plastic with a hair dryer. Thankfully, the replacement blowers all have the female receptacle on a longish lead, making it easy to plug even a cracked male plug into the replacement blower.
Much thanks for the heads up, they must have add a slightly different design to the newer model, I appreciate your input, it will most likely be helpful tp others in the future..
Hey Yardi, thanks for the tips. I did it today and it turned out to be mice building up a nest. Works great now. I have to say it is possible to do it this way but you need some skinny arms and a camera to see what you are reaching for blindly. But it does work 100%
Oh my gosh, I have long arms and I had to use my flash light then put it down and remember where the hole was for the screw, miss it, use the light again lol. My shoulders are too wide to use both hands to do anything🙄
Many thanks DIY Yardie! watching the other videos on this job, I was ready to sell the car! Your process looks like the way to go. tomorrow's project simplified
Hey, my name is Anderson and i have to say that you made this video incredible, i just did my 2016 nissan rogue blower motor replacement and just like you said i did and BANG i change that thing. I came here to thank you. I had a lot of leaves little tings also inside the chanels there but i am so happy that i did. Took me 30 min because i had to clean. The other videos that i found they were taking the whole desh and i foundo yours man. Bless you. Thanks a bunch. By.
Hey Anderson, I really appreciate you taking the time to give a positive feedback, and you're right, most of the videos on UA-cam will have you tearing down most of the dash, I like to do things the simplest way possible, again much thanks..
I appreciate the compliment on my video, a few persons left comments saying my video is incomplete and missing certain steps, thanks for sharing that you were able to get it completed in 15 mins with the help of my video. big ups..
Thank You! I just did a 2018 Nissan Rouge. In addition to your instructions I also took out the side panel near the passengers calf/knee. The panel just snaps out. It took me about 10 minutes to actually remove the blower. The issue was that the blower was stuck and would not rotate it clockwise. I kept thinking am I missing something, is there another screw? Finally I just grabbed it and turned it clockwise with all my might. (engine side rotates down), and finally I heard: CLICK! The fan rotated and then I could remove it. It was easy to force it through the rear of the glove box, just bend the plastic a little. The Install was very easy, 1 minute. Thanks again for this great tip -andy
Bought a "repair" book. For this item, the pictures were totally worthless. Thank you for your video. At least I now know it's up higher that the book leads you to think.
Thank you for this video. My mother in law had her blower motor go out. I didn’t want to take apart half of the dash but with the way you did it, yeah it was still hard but I managed to change the blower out. And I’m 5’11 with long arms so it’s hard for me to get my body between the seat and the dash and get my arm in there in the right position
Thank you much my blower is acting up and I’ve read it could either be debris or the resistor I’m hoping it’s just debris and I can just take the motor out and get whatever is caught it in working will see tomorrow thanks again!
Appreciate your shortcut but I have a 2014 Rogue and simply could not remove the blower motor without pulling the passenger side trim off that the glovebox mates up with. It’s not that difficult to get this apart and makes access much easier. Maybe my version of Rogue is different than later models.
How do you know if it’s the blower motor and not the resistor? Do you just change the blower motor first in hopes that it’s that and then if that doesn’t fix the problem do the resistor? I’ve done these jobs multiple times but it’s been a while and I just can’t remember
Great question, The blower will usually only work on one or two of the speed settings when the resistor is going bad, not to say that it won't conk out at any time without warning, but before replacing any parts, you can unplug the power wires from the blower and use a volt meter to test for voltage coming across them with the engine running and cycling the speed control high to low, if you get a variety of voltage readings, then your issue is a faulty blower motor, but if there's no power coming from the wires no matter what speed it is placed on, then the problem is most likely the resistor.
nice job with this video. I feel confident I can DImyself, and save a bunch of $ ( that's why the 'thanks'). I look forward to viewing more of your vids
Thank you for this video. Do you happen tp have another product link. The one under the video says that one is unavailable and my ac motor literally went out today 😢
between 1min to 1:30. I show where the crews that hold the plastic cover where the glovebox sits, are removed, following that I show how I pull the lower part of the plastic cover out just enough to slide the old motor out and the new one in. if you got the motor out, you're halfway there.
Are you able to reach the resistor for the hvac blower this way since if i understand correctly its just the blower itself? You can correct me if im wrong please. Thank you for the response
Thanks for the informative content. Are you open to doing any product review that related to Auto led lighting? Hope what we offer could be a part of your fantastic content. But I didn’t find any way to contact you. Is there a way we can reach out to you?
Much thanks, that resistor is located opposite the fan on the drivers side next to the accelerator pedal, which you will need to remove in order to access it.
After taking the blower wheel off, is it possible to reach the AC evaporator coil? Wondering if I can hit it with a foaming spray cleaner using this method.
I would doubt that would be necessary being that these cars carry a cabin air filters that keep the coils relatively clean, you may have a dirty cabin filter more so than the coil.
I have a 2015 rogue select and the motor faces the opposite side, have to take out brake/gas pedals its such a pain in the ass. Of course the blower motor is totally stuck in place too
Blessing to you Yardie. I’m not a car guy at all and I was able to swap out motors in 30 min thanks 🙏 so much for this video. I didn’t want to mess with the center console and another video took off the pedals… Good luck with the channel Respect 🫡
I doubt the gear your car is in would affect the blower motor, I would get someone to help you to try to locate the source of the sound while you hold the brakes with the car in drive.. it can also possible the sound is still there while you're driving but road noises aer drowning it out, or its coming from something else other than the blower.
@@thediyyardie7192 Thanks for the quick reply! I wonder if the fan bearing is bad enough that the slight vibrations would cause it. When I turn the AC off, the sound goes away regardless of gear im in. While the slight ticking is happening, while in Park, if i turn the AC off, the sounds goes away, turn it back on and the sound comes back on. I'll get someone to help, good call and update in case anyone else has this issue. Sucky part is i just got the Rogue last week :/
@@Rebel1280 ok, with that explanation I understand more clearly what you're describing, it could be the motor going bad, leaves in the fan area or another common issue, its called the blend door actuator, these are little motors that control the flow of air where you want it as well as temperature, the doors can break and become stuck, or the gears in the actuator wear out, it can cause a clicking sound..
I have a similar issue, and it's probably the same problem. Mine works occasionally after a big bump in the road, so its probably a bad electrical connection that gets reconnected when you turn left lol
@@brandypelletier7668 once you remove the screw, you turn it counter clockwise to remove, if its stuck, you can try taping it with a piece of stick and a hammer, tap it lightly to try to brake it loose.

This video was pretty useless. There is a part of the process missing from this video. The box removal. I did this last week, 2 metal brackets are missing in this video making what he’s doing possible. Due to those brackets, the motor needs to be pulled to the right beyond them to bring it down. Which involves pulling the bottom part of the dash apart to access that area, as all the other videos show. Either he removed them without showing that part, or someone else did.
You are right. There is definitely parts missing in the video. To begin with taking the screws out at the beginning is useless nothing comes apart by doing that. It just gives wiggle room to the dash. Once you get the glove box out there are other parts in the way. Mine is also a 2017 Rogue. This video is pointless. I don't know what's worse though, this video or the engineer that thought it was a great idea to shove the fan motor up in there where you have to pull everything off to get to it. 🤦♂️
