Different Ways to Implement a False Nine! - Innovative Football Tactics!

The false nine concept was probably revolutionized by Pep Guardiola at Barcelona during their dominance in his coaching period there. Then Jurgen Klopp put his own spin on it which became very apparent at Liverpool with a player like Roberto Firmino. Now with Thomas Tuchel coming in and taking over Chelsea we see a new way it can be implemented when using a 3-4-3 shape.
In this video we look at different ways you can use a false nine in many different systems. It is important when you implement these tactics and concepts as a football or soccer coach that you consider what your players strengths and weaknesses are.

A lot of your buildups are Vs a 442/4222 with their strikers flat. But here for example, the strikers staggering, farside marking the pivot and the pressing player presses from the inside, would allow the defense to shift across.
Unpinning their defence straight away, because the 8s are at the same height

Yeah I usually just use the 4-4-2 because it’s common and you can clearly see the offensive concepts I’ll mix it up in the future
