OG Vacuum Solution: The Best Vacuum In the Making
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 жов 2024
- We started our chase for the vacuums earlier this year, and wanted to share where we currently stand. We installed this unit at the Helen House in December of 2022 and also share where we are at in the accessory chase. This reminds me of the early pressure washing days when I was shopping on obscure websites for random fittings and couplers, knowing the end result needed to be something that functioned as well as it looked and performed. I believe we are close with this OG Spec'ed vacuum, so now, we will be focusing on developing and curating the accessories to make this the best solution on the market. I am excited about this! Pre-orders for this will be ready in the coming months.

Stay tuned for more crazy!
Fortunately Mike is very even tempered and graciously tolerates Matt’s continual ribbing. Not sure Matt fully appreciates Mike’s exceptional skills, coupled with his winning smile and pleasant demeanor. Give him a couple of cinnamon buns each day, and he’s ready to go. We love you, Mike.
I think that’s their relationship! Love it though!
You should refrain from using the internet.
I’m pretty sure Matt knows what he has with Mike F since he moved him across the country to work for him full time!
@@jeremymason1721 I wasn’t aware of that so thanks for letting me know. However, I hardly ever hear Matt voice his appreciation for Mike’s skills and affable manner. I’m sure it isn’t easy living up to Matt’s
expectations, but Mike seems to be a perfectionist himself so that helps.
I think the team of obsessed garage is fN dope personally. They all are dialed in and the channel rocks. Much respect to you Matt, ramble on dude I appreciate the gems you drop
The making fun of each other’s shoes is probably the hardest I’ve ever laughed at an OG video.
Nothing wrong with Mike's shoes. Good to see you wear these shoes on day 2 of the Install.🤣
Matt's shoes actually make him look special.🤣
Yeah Matt's into the moon boots
Mike, your shoes are fine! Tell him to shut up! Love the Bert & Ernie reference!
Bert and Ernie Shoes. I agree with you Mike. I love this relationship they have. Pure entertainment for us guys. And the OG vac solution wall mount version will deliver as well! Great job Mike. 👌😊
16:43 I don't think I've seen Matt laugh that hard before, that was hilarious 😆
Vacuum looks awesome. Banter about the shoes was even better. Better get Mike practicing riding his bike now. 😂😂
I'll start practicing when I get home 😂
Mikes boots are 100x better looking than those goofball green WNBA shoes you got on Matty hahaha. Great video guys.
Bert and Ernie Shoes 👟!! 😂 😂😂
“There not for taking tests!” Lmao. Had me dying hahaha
Mike’s boots look good, don’t listen to Matt 🤣
Looks fantastic! You could sand the lettering off the muffler than polish the shine back. When sanded fine enough plastic buffs up nice. Like a headlight. 👍🏻
"We're figuring it out for you guys"... Who else appreciates the perfection these guys try to achieve?!!
Everyone wishes we had a dad like Mike.
Get a 3d printer for a couple grand and make great adapters to whatever is suitable in quality! Great idea and project!
@13:53 🥾🥾👷🏻🤣🤣 Matt "eh they don't look so good but"
To gain more clearance for the muffler use a vent 90* instead of that long sweep 90. Or even a standard DWV 90*.
The muffler is strictly air so the flow will be plenty with a vent 90. Long sweep 90’s are meant for better water expelling and less buildup that create clogs. You can of course use it but the center to face measurement is longer hence the space issue.
Anyway just throwing that idea out there if clearance is an issue.
I used a 90 degree silicone intercooler hose for my muffler and it works great. Nice ready to install solution. You just need hose clamps and if you’re feeling crazy you can order a unique color.
Neat. With a narrower garage you’d want it higher than that in case you need to park tight to the wall. Surely the Matt solution would be to hide the hoover in that corner cupboard, then run a hose hidden in the wall to a hose reel on the wall? Or, maybe even hidden in the ceiling with a swinging boom pole in the centre of the ceiling, so you can reach the hose to both sides of a car?
Yep, I'm going to put it in the attic at my house then mount in a vertical configuration at OGHQ.
Mikes boots are legit, those keens and the Red Wing Moc's are primo.
I'm so excited for this!!! I have been down the rabbit hole myself and luckily haven't pulled the trigger yet because I don't want a massive central vac hanging on the wall of my undersized 2 car garage.
I also hate most of the attachments I have and would love to see what you come up with, I've been using a 5 gallon vacmaster for my 4 professional years now and it's definitely the least professional looking component of my business. Working out of my own garage optics matter to me I want someone who pulls up to see that I have my stuff together.
When the package is ready my credit card will be ready shortly after thanks Matt!!
This is going to be such a huge game changer for us detailers stuck with cheap ridgid vacuums. I’ve noticed all these canister type vacuums use the exact same brand “Lambtek” motor and don’t really offer anything better. It would be nice if you offered a extra powerful system like the 20amp versions that modern day has. Also if you switch to a 1 1/2 hose over the 2inch you’ll be able to connect to more attachments since it comes with a different size coupler.
I'm using a Rigid wall mount in my garage and that's my exact thought. Hope this is more powerful than the Rigid.
Why? I would keep the 2 " and use an adapter/reducer. They're small and they create even more suction.
@@billyvice1520 Billy not sure I follow you, but we're going to find out. I got a Cox reel setup with the orange hose that was being sold a couple years ago before Matt started selling the Cox reel. The Rigid is not bad but I definitely could use more suction especially running a 50 ft hose.
@@NaturallyaspiratedJJM I was just saying they have adapters that reduce a 2" hose down to a 1 1/4.
In my opinion, you get the best suction that way, given your reducing such a large hose.
@@billyvice1520 gotcha, thanks for that. I use it mostly for carpeted interiors so a smaller hose wouldn't hurt. The other issue is the Rigid I use is pretty loud even with the cheap "muffler".
Once you get the accessories nailed down, it would be good if you had a custom mounting shelf that would hold and display the accessories so it would store them and make changing tips very easy
Really excited for this. I will be buying one once you guys have it available
my grandparents have a built in vacuum unit in their house and it has these little flaps along the wall you can sweep/kick stuff to then open them with your toe and it sucks it right up, I love using it.
Mike ignore Matt. I’ve worn that style Keens for about 5 years both on jobsites and off at customer sites. They fit well and are really comfortable for long days! Only issue I’ve had with them is the laces could be better made.
I agree and the laces do get loose on me unless I really tie them tightly or double knot. I buy them because they are comfortable
@@MikeFigueira I ended up using lace locks on these to make them easy to slip on/off without much work before getting in my car at the end of the day. Easy $8 fix.
I'm thinking this would be a great Item to add for the RS giveaway!!! Pretty clean setup cant wait to see the finished product.
Lmao that Bert and Ernie’s shoes comment got me 😂
the shoe roasting lolol "makes you look a little slow"
Looks very promising! May be time to invest in your own 3D printer for prototyping. Your design guys could probably handle making the parts to speed up this part of the process.
That’s it!
looks so CLEAN
Funny as hell 😂! Great content guys!
I’ve been using the Bissell Garage Pro wall-mount for over 7 years. I look forward to this solution and ideally would like to hide the vacuum component in the attic. Can’t wait to see the install at Matt’s house.
Mat you need to try citrol 266 for adhesive removal much better experience no harsh smell and works just as well as tar x.
If Matt can get the perfect spout on this, he can take all of my money. I’ll buy multiple units. I have been looking at this for years and finding the best spout is the biggest challenge I have faced.
Idk if it’s possible but certainly something to keep in mind, it would be great to have a power switch on the end of the hose so you can turn off the vacuum if you need to without having to walk to the other side of your garage
Matt, I've seen this type of hose in numerous car washes adapted on portable vacuums, and what I've learned -the hard way- is that if it rubs on the car's paintjob (usually rear bumper, doors, door sils) while you are vacuuming the interior it's instant scratch/web on the paint. You should consider going for a rubber one.
We are working on a hose sock that for the last 10 or so feet of hose.
This is gold. Interpret as you wish
This was the funniest OG video ever lmaooo
Guys they are just messing around....we are lucky they are showing their true personalities...I love it...Matt was on his "goofy messin around vibes" this week in Helen lmfao
Looks great as always! Would the vacuum work underneath the hose reel with back to back 90s? I think it would look even better
Can’t wait till the full package is ready ! I will be ordering 😁
I have an existing central vac with inlets on both sides of the garage. Really looking forward to some OG-style disruption with legit quick disconnects, adapters, and attachments
Like the ego blower stubbie, have Bryce 3D print converter attachment for the handset, make sure to sure high pressure pipe work (like pool and spa PVC) and High pressure glue.
Bert & Ernie shoes 😂😂😂
Years ago I got a fortune cookie with a quote from Confucius "It's not always the man who drinks coffee and cleans interiors who finds the best solutions" Never knew what that meant but now it all becomes clear….
Round canister, round hose, round hose reel, round pipe. Square muffler? I think it will look cleaner with a round muffler, a mini version of the canister.
looks similar to the garagevac gv50pro which i love, the motor has an insane water lift of around 130 inches and still maintains well over 100 cfm with a 1-7/8 hose
This is a canister vacuum. There are hundreds of brands that make them.
@@ObsessedGarage yes there are, does your model have the 5.7" motor or the larger variant?
I ran into the issue of the cuff that comes on the cox reel hose being too big as well. I needed a 1 1/4 rotating cuff to work with all the tools I use in my garage and I searched for days to see if I could find a cuff that would thread onto the cox hose and reduce down to a 1 1/4 to make my attachments work and came up short. I couldn’t find one that threaded and rotated for the life of me. What I did find was the rigid car kit has a rotating cuff on it so I grabbed the cuff off the cox reel boiled it for a few seconds and was able to pop the swivel off of the cuff. I then boiled the rigid vacuum cuff and did the same. with all the parts separated I recoiled the hose side of the cox cuff and pushed the rigid 1 1/4 swivel onto the cuff and it fit without any issues.
@mikecosta90 I’ve walked the same path.
It is super cool to see a crazy which is crazy like myself. The best or nothing! Buy the best because it is cheaper in the long run. It always is! I always say cheap is expensive!
Siding with Mike on the footwear.
I'm sure you're looking into it, but Mielle makes some great attachments. An additional feature would be a powered vacuum hose. This would allow for powered accessories that could be great for deep cleaning.
Super excited for this!
Matt how about getting a stainless bracket made for wall mounting? Like what you have for the cox reel mount
That's a great idea.
I would imagine in a year, that vacuum will have some serious accessories with it. I am looking forward to it, but I guessing it will be another solution over $1000 lol.
This is the one product from OG that I hope really sucks🤣 ...I wonder if some sort of "dynamat" acoustic insulation would reduce noise if it were applied to drum's interior surface?
Hey you guys over there better start figuring out how to make that vacuum in 220 volts for us in Europe!!!!! We won’t have a problem hanging that thing on the wall ( at least in Italy) as we got either a concrete wall or a stone wall! 👍
That is, by far, the nicest hack saw I've seen. Who makes that?
Sonic tools
Look into Rockler hose adapters. Also any plans to use any of the Milwaukee vac accessories?
Yeah, I have a lot of stuff to discover. I have all the Milwaukee tips sitting here to test out.
Matt, we gotta get you up to working man spec in the boot world. Moc toe wedge soles are where it’s at.
I may have missed it, but a rivet on metal badge for branding would look really clean instead of the blue sticker. Just my .02
Take a look at the Dewalt airlock fittings DWV9000-XJ and DWV9110 or the DWV9220-XJ they could work with the right hose size. I use them for both cleaning the cars and power tools.
“theyre not for taking tests”, I’m still friggen laughing. Funniest s*&% I have heard in a long time. Don’t listen to him Mike. Your shoes are fine. LMAO
I need that vacuum in my garage Matt!
For pure suction, this or the Flex? I kind of like the Milwaukee vac Mike used in the tandem pressure washer video.
Not sure yet. We need to test it!
21:16 my thoughts exactly 😂😂😂
Looks super clean. I went down the rabbit hole trying to adapt attachments from multiple manufactures years ago. I gave up and ended up with adapters duct taped together. Not ideal for sure
The problem with “shop vacs” is that you have to go with a big clumsy 10+ gallon unit to get the suction power you want. Looking forward to your version on wheels so I can stop using the same behemoth Dewalt for both job site cleanup and car cleaning duties. Just make sure to give yours a weighted base so it doesn’t tip over all the time, and a large rear wheels/ smaller front casters arrangement to make it easier to wheel out to the driveway. 4 small casters is the most annoying setup in existence if you need to cover any distance when you move the vacuum from one place to another.
Imagine all the guys that actually work for a living each day now realizing they wear “slow boots”.
i custom made a vacuum using stianless steel keg with dual 8.4s all done up with "tri clamp" fittings.. I can run 150ft hose. 300cfm 140lift. I was waiting on the obsesses solution for 2 years lol. I put each motor on wireless button,,HBN Outdoor Indoor Wireless Remote Control 3-Prong Outlet Weatherproof Heavy Duty 15 A
Not sure if you have them in the states, in the UK we call them fused spurs, but basically the power cable going straight in to the wall and having it on a switch, then no cables visible. put it behind it?
Any videos coming out on the fix for the water damage on the side of the house?
It's on Inside the Hex.
Matt, you created your own great product idea when you liked the remote switch nozzle idea but didn't like the bulky stock nozzle: design your own switched nozzle with changeable adapters! Develop it on a 3D printer.
Having a remote on off would be awesome or even needed with a long hose. Variable suction would be a plus like on Festool dust extractors. Did you consider the metro master blaster solution which can be reversed for a heated dryer? Saw a couple sema videos on it. May not want to use same hose but being able to suck and blow seems cool lol.
The shoe convo 😂😂😂😂 check out Danner boots. They are really great quality. And don’t make you look slow 😂
Looks exactly like my GarageVac Pro. Exactly. Great vacuum nonetheless.
No, it is a canister vacuum. There are hundreds of brands that make a canister vac.
Hahaha man, Matt is something. Making fun of Mikes boots had me rolling. Those boots are not made for using paper and pencil
yep gimme that wireless switch for on and off from out in the driveway and im in Heaven!
Love it!!!!!
What series was it where you did the Hide-A-Hose setup? Interested in seeing that process.
That was the Morton building out in Colorado. I'm doing one at my house in FL next.
How about a white matching reel ?
Maybe a white hose
Looks frikkin awesome tho.
Venting that muffler/blower side of vac outside like a dryer vent makes a huge difference in noise.
If there is anyone on the planet who will perfect the vacuum for your garage, it will be Matt. I’m just a little scared on how much it will cost. 😂😂😂
R.I.P. Ridgid
SUGGESTION: drive around and visit various car washes and check out their commercial accessories.
Paint the Vaccum, Hose, and Pipes OG blue. White Hex symbol centered. White adapter kits and end pieces.
Have you guys looked at the Milwaukee vacuum accessories. Some of them seem really interesting, but I'll admit I haven't tried to use any.
Yep, I have them all sitting on the floor at home to test out.
@@ObsessedGarage I’ll be curious about Matt and Mike’s opinion on the ‘car kit’ ones and the dry wall dust one.
I think obsessed garage should design a bluetooth remote thats like a watchband on the end of the hose to turn it on and off
@Fastcap already offers that. Have them on all of my vacuums, so nice!
Hope you come out with a better setup up. Sure looks good but noting more than something I can buy from Amazon.
Bring me something with more amp draw for more power and something that can suck water or a least can handle a little humidity.
You can't buying anything like this on Amazon. I need to start somewhere. From here I will work on finding a full suite of accessories for it. After that, I can start developing more products beyond this like more powerful and wet dry.
how did the install that on the stud without adding a backing plate? are the angled holes pre drilled on the cox reel?
No, you’d have to drill your own. These are professional solutions, so they assume the end user would know how to modify. We do have a plate you can buy that makes it easier. www.obsessedgarage.com/products/stainless-steel-cox-pressure-hose-reel-mount?_pos=1&_psq=cox&_ss=e&_v=1.0
@@ObsessedGarage Yeah but the plate only works with pressure washer hose reel and not vacuum hose reel? Or am I wrong on that?
Is there a video on how mike drill those holes in the cox reel? or whoever modified it?
Take my money! Check out Wessel-Werk for accessories if you haven’t already. They are a German company that makes most of the attachments for Miele and high end central vacs. Excited to see this progress.
Oh man...thanks for that one. That's exactly what I needed.
Don't listen to him Mike. The boots look great.
Any static build up on the hose when vacuuming the Swisstrax?
I think it like could, but I don't think it will be an issue.
Hahahahahhaha don’t let him
Ride a bike love it
Do they make a round muffler?
Hallo
how can i buy this vacuum?
im surprised you didnt throw stainless flex pipe at it
I could use one in my Detail trailer! I’m a mobile Detailer
When will we see an og spec water deionizer, I own a cr spotless and it just isn’t the best solution for detailing. I have tried to find other brands but they end up looking ugly.
I'm hoping by late spring.
Suds and Go released the “Spotless Water Booster”. Can’t buy it tho without inquiry email tho which I can’t stand. Look forward to an OG version that I don’t have to jump through hoops to buy.
The vacuum exhaust should exit outside the building for the most dust-free operation.
Instead of putting a switch on the handle a remote for the outlet could be used
You could have used the heat gun to help peel the blue label off.
