LOL..when I was a kid (about 3) in the Fifties, they'd show this 'toon on TV. I couldn't understand the lyrics, and thought he was singing about a guy named "Slime Burgess Stein".
Smile, darn ya, smile You know this great world is a good world after all Smile, darn ya, smile And right away watch lady luck pay you a call Things are never black as they are painted Time for you and joy to get acquainted So make life worthwhile Come on and smile, darn ya, smile
I know it's way late, but this short was under the AAP library, which was owned by Turner at that point. How could Nickelodeon air this short? Unless they got the broadcast rights to air the black and white Harman and Ising Merrie Melodies shorts for a little while as well.

Foxy looks kinda like mickey....not complaining....just saying :P fun cartoon, reminds me of oswald the lucky rabbit's trolley troubles in many aspects. Fun re-make with sound though 😁👍
Oh, that one. Haven't seen it in a while but I basically remember the scene when Grandpa showed Timmy a parody of Popeye. I also remember that instead of spinach the character ate beets - not sure which is worse. XD

That's not a rat. That's Foxy, he has a name (and is, obviously, a fox (note the bushy tail)). This was several years after Mickey, but was done by former Disney employees (many cartoon characters resembled Mickey (but then, Mickey resembled many already existing cartoon characters (it's complicated))).
If you want to get a copy of this cartoon, it's available as one of the special features in the Warner's Night At The Movies section on The Public Enemy DVD.
@evildraconian no I was more refering to the fact that doors, windows, decks and cowcatchers appear and disappear from scene to scene. For instance at 2:39 there's a cowcatcher in the front and no decks. Yet in the previous scene 2:19 the trolly has a front and a back deck and the turn-crank is outside on the front-deck. At 1:48 the back deck of the trolly is replaced with a door.
By "a first for the company", I meant that Michigan J. Frog was the first semi-major WB star to actually be killed possibly forever. Sure, the older B&W stars before The Looney Tunes (including Michigan's "Froggy Evening" episodes) actually began have faded into obsecurity, but they are not dead (as Tiny Toons ep. 'Fields of Honey' surmizes with Bosko & Honey), merely long-forgotten. But "The Frog is dead & buried", stated WB chairman, Garth Ancier in response to Time Warner's current direction.
That backwards talking hippo thing said something about a girl named Susie followed by a "What do ya think?" Then the second time she said "My dowry looks like the register." Weird.
When I read a Looney Tunes site many years ago, I learned that the hippo's backwards speech at around 1:36, when reversed, says roughly "my diary looks like a register". .... No bleedin' idea what that means though! lol
@Ivanatis They looked very similar than Mickey and Minnie, that´s the reason why these characters was not admited in order to avoid legal problems with Walt Disney.
I reversed that section where the hippo or cow or whatever speaks backwards and I can't make it out. Something about a girl named "Susie" and it ends with "What do ya think?"

Wow, this cartoon has everything!
So that's where that song from Toon Town in Roger Rabbit came from...
the song was used in WFRR,
foxy came after mickey,
and there was a tiny toons episode about him
Disney have had Silly Symphony, WB Merrie Melodies
The continuity on that trolley is something to behold. It's like they couldn't remember what it looked like from one shot to the next.
Fun fact: foxy is based on the most loveable Disney mouse of all times.
I saw who framed roger rabbit just now, and I always wondered what the song was :3
I saw this on Nickelodeon back in 1988, without the opening and closing graphics.

Warner bros to Disney, Disney to Universal and Universal to paramount: yo let me copy your homework

This is so cute ok Looney tunes cartoon really should bring this character back
@rthdvm Uh... Mickey was created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney.

@SparkyMK3 I guess that would explain the teeth, too. Love these older cartoons, but sometimes they do something that makes you just... stare.

This cartoon reminds ne of Trolley Troubles
This is classified as a remake of that cartoon
Well, Harman and Ising worked for Disney in the 1920s and I guess Disney let them slide

for me i heard:
"even one are none exals what you think?"
(also i don't even know what exals means lul)
1:36
Actually, a section of an article about Foxy on Wikipedia contradicts that.
3:53 it reminds me of Sinkin' in the Bathtub from Bosko (except for singing and extended parts), but instead of a horn, it's a bell.
I'd like to ride on a trolley, I see them a lot in old cartoons but I've never ridden one (that I remember anyways).
FOXY SAYS: LAUGH AT THE OBESE.
Roxie; Oh Boy! Wat a gal, eh kiddies? Wat a gal!

wait these are not Mickey and Minnie right?
1:45 reminds me of the subway in Tokyo ;)

Why UA-cam recommended this to me?
4 people can't darn smile.
It's not Disneys Mickey but Warner Brother's
I'm gonna make this my theme song.
How? This was made in 1931!
it is
This was on WFRR wasn't it? I cannot get over the rat. Had Mickey been invented yet?
For a moment I thought they where gonna break into the song from the Viagra commerical when she hopped onto the train.
I think you mean TIny Toons.
I wonder what happened to that umbrella...
Dubbed in 1995
This is the first Looney Tunes episode
It’s actually sinkin in the bathtub
never heard of a time machine?
Sigh, all the animated characters in this film are probably already dead.
the video - sound sync is so completely stuffed its a joke.
will someone PLEASE tell me what the hippo in the beginning says?
i cant tell if its just sped up or played backwards
play it backwards
lol subliminal messages...not sure what the hippo sasy but wat im sure of is thet teh hippos said "wat do u think/say" at the end
@LegoJunk128 it sure was! and the girlfriend's name was honey, right?
...To sleep some more... What more do you want. (I'm not the only one who was slightly scared by this cartoon, right?)

We all know that the real female comedy star would be a girl named Susie Q created the roadrunner and coyote cartoons in 1937
Mickey mouse fake
they stole this from roger rabbit
DaPlegrim actually who framed roger rabbit got the song from this. This was released in the 1930s and who framed roger rabbit was made in the 1990s.
