The 4 Corners Region is my favorite places in the world. 🦋🦋🦋
I was thinking a crow could land on that rock out crop and the whole thing would tumble down, then there was a guy hanging off of it. Blew my mind!
Right! I would guess the the neck is 20-40 ft in diameter! It sure doesn’t look like it though!!!!
Snow and ice in SC...ya'll stay warm and safe wherever you are!!!
I just seen some of that on the weather channels! Sounds like a good excuse to stay home and safe from the crazy drivers. We are in Northern Nevada. Stay safe and keep warm. ❄️❄️
Very beautiful... last time I was there for a while...2018 very cool yes...
Loved the song during the Mexican hat drone footage. 💕
Carrie searched long and hard for the music in this one, thank you! 😀
I stayed at the old Mexican Hat motel. Retro cool.☮️🌵
Very cool background music! Grooves so well with the magnificent Mexican Hat scenery!
Thank you, Robert! Carrie looked long and hard for this music. 😀
Great choice of music very pretty scenery too
Thank you! I had to search quite a while to find music that I thought complimented the area😃
Wow! Beautiful landscape, thanks for sharing.
Another great video… Monument Valley, another reason to go back…. Prayers for your Mom.
There is still so much more to see in the area: Gooseneck state park, Goblin Valley state park, bears ears National monument and I’m sure more that I don’t even know about!
Mom is doing really good with her treatment! According to other who have gone through this process her side effects are pretty mild……Mom might disagree 😂 she finishes treatment at the end of the month and CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME!!
Utah is such a great place to explore.
We never get tired of Utah! 😀
My son and his family went to Arizona and I almost was begging him to come back thru UTAH. It is gorgeous. He didn't. It's basically a straight drive back to Kansas. But Nope wouldn't listen. I'm sharing this to show him what he missed out on. He may not have gotten to see a lot of this, but driving thru Utah is Beautiful. I went thru Utah coming back from California in the 90s.
Love your Advantures.
Thank you for the recipe, we love brussel sprouts. I will try it!!
Thank you for sharing, Tina! He really did miss out! We have spent about 2 months in Utah since we have been on the road and I feel like we are just scratching the surface!
Wow, what a mystical place. I really enjoy your videos. They are very informative, beautifully filmed and entertaining. Thank you.
Thank you, Angela! 😀
Breath-taking sceneries of Mexican Hat and Monument Valley. Steak with Brussel Sprouts look delicious. Thanks, Carrie & Dave.
You are very welcome!!
This is a great video. So professional. Thanks very much!
Thank you, Pete! Carrie has been working hard on the editing, I will let her know about your comment! 😀😀
Awesome views! I love the Benchmark and Delorme paper maps. 👍
We love our paper maps!
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful!!!!!
YOUR MUSIC IS PERFECT💖
The views are amazing!!!!
HAPPY TRAILS🤠💖😎
Thank you! I had to search quite a while for music 🎵 that I felt was suitable!
We so enjoy your videos!!
Thank you, Shara!
Great Job !! very good shots
Thank you, Dean!
Great views really enjoyed it!! I call traveling west of the Mississippi Gods country, the beauty never ends. Thank you.
Thank you, Captain! We agree with you about the west! I love your name!! 😀
@@oneadVANtureatatimeMay both of you Live long and prosper 🙂
Great choice of music! And the faces I could see in those rocks, amazing.
Thank you! Usually I see those faces but I didn’t this time! I’ll have to go back and look again!
thank you, what a treat! the drone makes such a difference and I loved the music. the mist really enhanced the mystery of the valley.
Thank you! We could not believe how the colors of monument valley just popped with the weather! It was BEAUTIFUL!!!
Really enjoyed another of your videos!!!!!!
Thank you ☺️
We love Brussel Sprouts and have been to Mexican Hat and Monument Valley. We Love the area. We love you all.
Stephanie M.
Thank you, Stephanie! Next time we are going to try Brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Then brown it up in our cast iron. We love this area also and can't wait to go back when we have more time. 😀
Oh my!!! Beautiful drone footage!! One of our favorite places in the USA!!
Utah is AMAZING!!!
Bin there incredible place hope to go back
👍👍👍👍 awesome... well balance video... thanks!!!
Thank you! 😀
Once again a fantastic vlog by both of you and Roodle is a great model and dog! Your photography and drone footage is so fantastic! Truly a team of professionals with a warm personality and delightful demeanor always on videos! Love and Prayers sent your way by my wife and I.
Thank you two! We appreciate your kind words very much. Carrie puts a crazy amount of time into the editing process. I will pass on this comment to her. We hope we see you on the road, Roodle would love you to throw his ball. 😀
🔥 Awesome videography of that area!
Thank you!
Hi there!! Thank you for your awesome coverage of this area!! When we go to Valley of the Gods, I will include an excursion to Mexican Hat!!
Your videography, music overlay, drone flying, and narration is awesome !!
Safe travels!!
We hope you do stay there! It's right off the highway and a super easy on and off. This is very close to Valley of the Gods. If I could only stay at one of these I would choose Valley Of the Gods. 😀
Lots of beautiful scenery!! There were a lot of old western movies shot In the Monument Valley by John Ford. It was one of his favorites. Of course some of the stars in those movies included John Wayne!!
We wanted to see one off these spots but you needed a permit and we were short on time….. next time😃
Great video of Mexican Hat. Thank you, Carrie. Monument Valley is my favorite place . We are praying for your mom and hope you all are safe in the snow. Starting our Quartzite trip with the end of your video.
Thank you! How long will you be in the Quartzsite area?
Great video. Mexican hat, Mother Nature at her best. Travel safe and HAPPY TRAILS
Thank you, guys! I wanted to drone the rock climbers but didn't want to ruin their experience 😎
There’s something so cathartic about these Cooking with Carrie segments 😊 love seeing a return to this beautiful area
Your video to start my Saturday makes the day 😉 Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the kind words!!
Awesome views. I loved roodle watching you cook. Thanks so much for sharing. 🥰
He loves to watch me cook! He usually gets a nibble here and there!
Love the video, Can't wait to get out that way... soon, very soon
Soon very soon! We will see you on the road!!!!
With that music, I was expecting to see Clint Eastwood come galloping from around the Monument. Carrie, I enjoy watching you cook. Your meals always look so delicious. Hugs to Roodle. Safe travels.
Great video!! Yummy Food!!! Thanks for sharing morning walk...
Thank you, Mary! Carrie is already planning another Brussel sprout recipe. I must be getting old because I can't wait. 😀
Can't wait to try your Brussel sprouts recipe, looked delicious. We enjoyed Monument Valley last fall.
Hi Grady! Carrie is going to try another recipe with Brussels sprouts but this time use balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. 😀
@@oneadVANtureatatime Here's a Southern kitchen recipe - brown onion & bacon in the skillet, add brussell sprouts & sliced yellow squash, when veggies are tender, add whipping cream.
Oh that recipe sounds delicious… I’m adding it to my must try list!!
We drove through there a couple years ago ,,Just beautiful country,,keep trucking and posting guys enjoyed
Thank you, Steven! We just never seem to get tired of Utah and Arizona 😎
Monument Valley is amazing! I'm glad you turned around on Mexican Hat when you did because I kept thinking Oh Wow if that was Charley I'd be so scared of him going over the side LOL! Another beautiful video!
Thank you, Patti! It's no fun driving down a road when you have to worry about driving back out. We once had to wait a few days to drive out a road after it rained and turned to mud. It's not terrible when you have your home with you but can get risky. 😀
Glad you don’t risk your life, to get a video. Good job as always.👍I like the cooking segment, looks scrumptious. I love Brussels sprouts as an adult also.
Thank you, Randyll! I will however risk getting stuck now and then just for the challenge😂 I like when Carrie adds meals into the videos as well! Take good care. 😀
I hope to visit soon. Thanks for the preview of coming attractions!
Our privilege, Bill! We hope you have as much fun as we did! 😀
@@oneadVANtureatatime I’m sure I will, thanks!
Try some balsamic vinegar on the Brussels sprouts sometime. Just some salt, pepper, and the balsamic. Roast the sprouts (or brown in your cast iron pot).
I just told Carrie about your recipe and she is going to try it. Thank you, David! 😎
@@oneadVANtureatatime I too never liked brussel sprouts as a kid 😉. They’re pretty good this way.
Oh, don’t forget some good olive oil.
A pretty spectacular video of scenery usually seen in Hollywood 🎥. It did not look like it would take much to tip the Mexican Hat rock...brave mountain climber. All you needed to add was the face close-ups when the music played like the spaghetti westerns...lol! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Larry! You will not catch me climbing Mexican Hat. 😂
What another epic trip! Love the new intro, the music choices and especially the cooking. Thank you!
Mark (& Teresa)
Thank you so much!!!
Just found your channel! Love it. I’m a binge watcher when I find a channel I love and will be starting from your first video and working my way to the newest. Great adventures and great filming.
Welcome! Not sure if I would suggest our first videos 😂😂😂 our channel has been a labor of love… I think we are finally getting comfortable in front of the camera! We tried to leave coordinates in the video description if you are interested. Feel free to ask any questions😃
@@oneadVANtureatatime I actually really like to watch a channel grow It’s definitely a learning curve! 💗
We loved it when we visited there! An amazing place to visit. We are going to have to try that recipe. We aren't fans of brussel sprouts....you just may have found a way that will make them yummy for us! That looked really good.
Yeah, Brussels sprouts gotta be doctored up a bit😂😂😂
Great scenery, excellent camera work and the drone footage is a 10 out of 10.
Music and editing made a beautiful area even better.
Definitely a place to have a jeep in tow.
Always a thumbs up 👍
Thank you! Yes!!! Definitely have a jeep in Tow!!! So many options
What luck to go in such weather, no deep shadows. I can recommend Canyon De Chelly. Mostly driving then short walks to the canyon rim. One walk to the bottom with a tunnel on the way down.
As a photographer you know I was happy about the diffused cloud cover!!! It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! We could not believe how the colors popped! Canyon De Chelly is on my list!
Fantastic, as always! You always take us along with you to the best places... Kir (and Ron)
Thank you! Thanks for following along!
What a great spot, we passed by on our way through but didn't stop. Thank you for all the info! And thanks for sharing!
Thank you! We appreciate your kindness! 😀
When you take a tour then choose the Sunset tour. We did and it was amazing, great sunset, fantastic guide who didn't mind coming home later than normal so she took the time for us. Fantastic.
A sunset your must have been fantastic! That's making the most of the visit. We hope you got a good one. 👍😎
Incredible! What a phenomenal place to see! The drone footage blew me away! Outstanding video footage! By the way, those brussel sprouts looked delicious! You guys make the most incredible videos! Safe travels you guys. 👍👍👍👍👍😁
Thank you, Marilyn! Carrie is already planning another Brussel sprout recipe. I must be getting old because I can't wait. 😂😂
Thank you so much for giving us the coordinates of your camping spots. We went by there last week on the way to Quartzsite Az. It was the first big trip
in our newly built out Pro-Master van. I look forward to each video every week.
Right on! Congratulations on hitting the road! We would be right there in Quartzsite right now if Carrie’s mom would not have fallen ill. We hear Skoolie Palooza is near Parker at the end of this month. We hope we get to meet you on the road. 😀
Beautiful scenery 👍 More great drone footage some of the best I’ve seen!
Thank you, Johnny! I wanted to drone the rock climbers but thought I might spoil their experience.😂
One of my favorite places. Do you have any footage of going on the Mogi Dugway? Know you did it as you were at Muley Point. It is such a great drive. Thanks once again, impressive.
+Dougal the Moki Dugway was awesome! Here is that video
Our MOST EPIC Boondocking spot EVER!!! Complete with AMAZING Drone footage of the Moki Dugway! ua-cam.com/video/ne7LMc_dg6I/v-deo.html
Hey Carrie! I like your new opening montage! Keep the dinner recipes coming. 👍💜
Thank you, Jodi! I have a good time looking for photos and videos of last year's highlights! Thank you for noticing! 😀
Great video! Love the dog watching you cook!
Thank you! He knows he gets a bite!!!
Mexican hat is cool. I’d love to camp there for sure. Probably gets busy in the spring/fall. Honestly I’d be afraid of the rock falling over on me, just my luck 😂😂 great video 👍🏼
That sure was a great camping place! Loved the vid! Prayers for your Mom, Carrie Blessings
Thank you, Granni! We are taking Carrie’s mom back to her place tomorrow! We will hang around a couple of days to make sure she is ok on her own. She loves her little apartment.
I am driving over for dinner be there in a few days, lol. That looked really good, not a mustard fan but with everything else I can see it would add flavor.,
You are welcome to join us for dinner anytime! We will even not add the mustard. 😂
Mexican hat looks like an awesome place to visit. I agree Dave-when I was young I would not eat "martin heads" but love them now! 😁 Love the magical whistler 😍👍
The whole area is just stunning! What’s nice is within a 40-50 mile radius you can visit all of these locations!
I would love to visit these areas. I’m on the east coast, tho, so I’m focusing on visiting places here before I head too far west. Lots toward which to look forward!! Thanks tons for sharing this video.
You are very welcome! We hear there is a pretty big storm out that way. Stay safe and warm! Watch out for the crazy drivers. 😀
ouch... the price of gas made me cringe...but very pretty in monument valley...I cant wait till i can retire and do this... thank you for your video....tell Dave you all can come back to South Dakota for some snow...lol
Hi Deb! Wait until you see the gas prices in the next video...by far the highest we have ever seen! I do love South Dakota and snow! I get sad when the snow melts 😂
I love the new intro. Great video as always.
Thank you! Making the new intro is fun…. A quick look at the year before!
Great video good job thank you
Thank you, Bill! 😎
Monument Valley was closed during the "V" crisis. We went to Valley Of The Gods instead. So much better than Monument Valley. The boondocking was amazing...and free. No dealing with Indian permits.
I call yall '' the nice people with the really cool dog!!! Keep up the great content!.
Gorgeous area. The way Roodle's eyes moved when the steak hit the pan was priceless lol. I know y'all film ahead of time but would you say this area is doable in February? We are new to the road and need a good winter spot for a month. Safe journeys !!
I wouldn't say it was a good place to stay for a month, as of today 15 Jan @ 7:45am, the temperature in Monument Valley is 29 degrees. Definitely do your research about the Tribal Park, you are on tribal land and subject to tribal law. Don't miss Goulding's Trading Post across the highway from the park there is some very interesting things to see there.
I would caution you in this area summer or winter! It can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter and EXTREMELY REMOTE! We suggest anyone coming to this area needs to be self sufficient, carry traction boards and have some knowledge of getting unstuck (winter), know how to change a tire, keep your pipes from freezing, have warm weather gear, plenty of water (especially in summer) and a little bit of emergency food would be smart! Chances are you won’t need these precautions but…… if by some chance you do…. It could be life saving. Okay having said all that we think it is doable…. Just be sure to check your weather conditions and be cautious of going to far off any main roads especially if wet!!!
Dave said start with The Valley of The Gods…. The roads seemed to be in good condition….. but as always use caution ⚠️
@@oneadVANtureatatime Thank you so much for the advice!! Safe journeys
Dave and Carrie remind me of the old Beach Boys song (I Get Around).
Keep making videos and you will out do Cheap RV Living. 👍
Thank you, Nehpets! I get the Johnny Cash Cash song stuck in my head all the time! “ I been everywhere man” 😂😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime I loved Johnny Cash, 👍
Roodle is a mountain goat of a dog!!!
Roodle really is! He helps me go up the hills sometimes. 😂🐕🎾
Love you channel!
Thank you, Oscar!
@@oneadVANtureatatime love your style of camping
Thank U for the wonderful production! HOW do u continue to do sight, sound and area selection better and better?? YOUR expressing of caution and capabilities based on weather and self-awareness is a great reminder to us all. Roodle has great guardians keeping him safe. Keep them coming...be safe.
Thank you, Barney! We have really worked on our audio but Carrie is getting very good at putting these videos together. We appreciate your kindness very much! 👱♂️👩🐕🎾
Excellent video last October I have been there, it’s amazing all that area we stay in The View Hotel and visit Moki Doki , MexicanHat and all that area, want to be there right now, thanks for the video
We agree! That's a great base to explore from the View Hotel! I wish we could go back there right now myself. 😎
Thank for the honey mustard idea! Can't Waite to try it
How is that rock formation even possible? Surely we are being pranked.
You must go see for yourself ! Truely incredible scenery !
Thanks for the video
Really enjoy your channel. Just curious as to the ground clearance on your rig. I assume it is just front wheel drive. I am wondering how many of your spots are possible for us. Keep up the good content!
Yes, we are front-wheel drive with about 7 inches of clearance under the axels. We definitely recommend traction boards. We have got ourselves unstuck out of snow, mud, and sand so far. We have used them over 30 times and never needed a tow truck....yet 😂
Full scale blizzard currently raging here in Billings Montana so I'm spending a house bound day "traveling" with you.
Nice! A housebound day watching a blizzard sounds like fun to me. Thank you for watching our videos! Stay warm up there.
I love your videos! I really appreciate that you tell places to stay. And your videography is fantastic. Whatever you paid for your drone it was a good investment! And you use it just right. I even like the music you use.
Thank you, Chris! We appreciate your kindness! 😀
Hi from Germany and Thx for sharing. I will be an an 8-week usa trip at February and can't wait to boondock in Moumnet Valley. Is it allowed to fly drones there?
You can fly a drone in Valley of the Gods and Mexican Hat but you CANNOT fly a drone in Monument Valley as it is tribal land (Native American Land). I hope you have the best time on your 8 week trip…. How cool!!!
@@oneadVANtureatatime thx - yeah 8 weeks and also meet some friends I Texas California and Las Vegas - so will be awesome
Love the boots for your labradoodle. They look like they stay on. Where did u get them? We have a goldendoodle who travels with us.
Love your vids. My favorite!
Thank you, Beverly! 😀😀🐕🎾
Hello and safe travels from Modoc!
Right on Anthony! We will be in Modoc county tomorrow! 😎
@@oneadVANtureatatime Im so bummed...A friend sent me a picture of your van at the laundromat. I live right across the street so I looked out and there you were. I went back in the house for a minute and went back out you were gone. I drove around town but no luck. Im sure we will get to meet eventually, because I have a 1999 e150 and although I'm not living in it I traveling every chance I get. I know your Mom and I pray doing well. Take care.
Was the music Navajo? I really liked it.
Hi Ellen! It was not Navajo music but Carrie thought it was quite fitting for the location. 😀
Nice video. I'm currently in Quartzsite are you coming this way at all?
+Show Me Adventure Vanlife we hope to be there late February maybe early March😃. We will do at least one day of meetups. Our main priority is upgrading our battery bank when we are there…..so we will be preoccupied for a bit!
@@oneadVANtureatatime I'm only here till Monday I am flying to Uganda Africa for a couple of weeks and then I will be back out on the road. I should be in Texas by my I March 1st I hope to meet up with you somewhere down the road
Were the roads mostly unpaved and how washboard were they?
The best roads are unpaved!!! Monument valley and Valley of the Gods were dirt and gravel roads with no washboard! Mexican hat looked like it would get muddy really quick if it rained. Muley point was super washboard!
How long is the drive? How many miles? I will be there in early October.
I notice that most times you guys go for walks with Roodle but rarely together. Is it because one needs to stay with the van?
I (carrie) tend to wake up early so I like to go for morning walks! It’s also my alone time and I usually have my camera with me so I’m farting around. Dave usually goes walking when I’m editing and he is looking for wild edibles… it just happens to work out that way😃
@@oneadVANtureatatime thanks
Did you guys have to use 4 wheel drive at all while in Utah ?
No, but we have pushed are 2 wheel drive to the max a couple of places in Utah. The traction boards are a real life saver.
Have you been bothered by scorpions on any of your trips?
We have been looking for Scorpions 🦂 but have not seen one yet. Carrie even has a special light to find them at night but no cigar yet.
At 1:05 minutes into the video pause the video and look at the rocks. Tell me it doesn’t look like the head of a mountain lion. The rock is shaped just like a mountain lion’s side view.
