Me too I've always wondered if that was something that Elizabeth Montgomery came up with on her own or something that created by the writers and stuck.
Dick York was amazing as Darrin. He and Elizabeth had such great chemistry. It's quite hard trying to get used to Dick Sargent as Darrin when binge watching the series!
Dick Sargent was the FIRST choice to play Darren. He thought he wasn’t cast, so he took another job-making it necessary to cast Dick York. When Dick York had his severe back injury, the producers found out Sargent was again available. That’s why he was cast!
Unfortunately you’re right. But the other hand, Darren should realize this is how she feels all the time, and yet she choses real love over to live as a wealthy person.
True - Even though Sam asked her mother if she put that spell on that doll. She said NO! Witches honor and then have I ever lied to you ? I think yes she's lying and did put that spell on the doll.
Oh, the problems that greed can cause. Thanks Endora. One can look at it in several ways. If he hadn't married Sam, he wouldn't have this and other problems due to her family (20/20 hindsight), BUT he did and he is lucky to have her to keep him on an even keel AND run interference for him. 🙂 I love Sam's response to the whistle. "It's something I wouldn't buy for myself." BTW, I understand that Elizabeth Montgomery could make clothes. We see it mentioned here and the costume we see in THE SAFE ANE SANE HOLLOWEEN. That i'm sure was made by the wordrobe department or purchased. We see this throughout BEWITCHED, things that Liz did in real life.
But there was one episode where she was making a dress 👗 to wear to Darrin's client's house. But in this episode she cannot sew and ends up zapping up a dress that she seen while in France with Endora. She also has to make dresses 👗 for Darrin's client's wife and her sister and Gladys Kravitz, because Darrin boasted that Samantha made hers. Pretty funny.
I just love Bewitched. And the fabulous, intelligent and the beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery.🥰 She my favourite actress. And fabulous cast. Agnes Moorehead has Endora.🥰 Smart and great actress. 🥰 Dick York smart and kind.🙏🏻 Dick Sargent smart and calm.🙏🏻
@@dianetheisen8664 hello, my friend. I hope you and your family are doing well ☺️. I never seen this episode before. I love hearing from you. Have a great evening 🌆. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Sam doesn't need anything to get what she wants. All she needs to do is snap her fingers, twitch, incantation, or merely think about what she wants. 🙂 I was going through some of the comments and i remembered another episode where Sam was making a costume for Tabitha in TO TRICK OR TREAT OR NOT TRICK OR TREAT. I remember Elizabeth's daughter said that her Mom loved Halloween and Christmas and coming up with ideas for each season.
When Sam wants to use her powers to conjure up a meal or do housework, Darrin forbids her independent use of power. Yet when he comes into money, Darrin never asks Sam anything but exercises his new purchasing power making unilateral decisions even against her wishes. His display of affection is restricted to gift buying. These are all the hallmarks of a bonafide Narcissist. 1. Control over everything and everyone. 2. Yelling and abusing Sam verbally, flying into a rage when she uses magic (acting independently without his control) and enforcing his Rules. 3. Forcing Sam into behaving like a mortal stripped of her powers when she is a magical being. 4. Making unilateral decisions about spending even when married. 5. Having bevy of followers doing his bidding (flying monkeys). 6. Feeling like a Supreme Being and Lord of his domain at all times, having a fit when Sam does not ask his permission. Frankly, I have no idea what she sees in this imbecilic, insecure, mama's boy. Even his parents, are pathetic. All compromises come from Sam, none from Darrin. Sam has to change into something she is not, to please him. Hallmarks of a Narcissist.
@@JaneDoe6000 Nostalgia for what? Servitude to a sexist man? Nostalgia for the good ole days when women stayed home barefoot and pregnant and the man controlled the money? When the man gave the woman pocket money to buy a dress? Get over your nostalgia and smell reality.
@@lass-inangeles7564 I don't think there is any reality to be smelt? It's a frigging television show! Relax! My nostalgia doesn't necessarily come from the contents and storyline of this show - or any show for that matter. It comes from where I was and who I was decades ago - my childhood altogether.

I've always LOVED the way Samantha says: "Well!"
Me too I've always wondered if that was something that Elizabeth Montgomery came up with on her own or something that created by the writers and stuck.
I also loved the manner in which she says well and oh my stars.
She had a bunch of little adlibs that are ironic.Din Din referring to dinner was a good one.
I love Samantha and when she says : oh my stars!
The way that the upstairs chair matches the drapes...😂
These are the funny little background things that you don't notice much as a kid.

They did ..then York admitted her thought she was very beautiful and wow then Elizabeth thought it was making things awkward between them both
@@nysockexchange2204 Elizabeth Montgomery was very uncomfortable with Dick York after he expressed how he felt about her. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I agree. I didn't like Dick Sargent...
Remember also that Montgomery was married; so York's "crush" would have made her very uncomfortable.

So funny - he knows that Sam can materialize anythIng she wants, yet he thinks she should be impressed by material wealth. 🤣

I really love when sam goes well

They wore their own clothes for every episode
I found an article today on actors who use their own outfits on their projects with Elizabeth being the first on the list.
You to realize this is a very old TV show it's all make-believe
It's these really creative, silliest, most El Weirdamundo earlier episodes of Bewitched with the ORIGINAL Darrin that I find the funniest ❗👀👍❕
Never noticed before how the armchair matches the curtains behind it.
But does the carpet match the curtains? That’s what I want to know
