Hello!
Pack 'n Plays provide convenience, but they can also get very dirty, as babies spend a good amount of time in them. Our pack n play was disgusting so we tried the bathtub method. In this video, I will show you exactly what I did.

Thank you so much for this video. The way you washed it is perfect for a deep cleaning. like you mentioned at the beginning,you’ve had it for a very long time. I would only skip the deep cleaning if I need to spot clean it and a quick rinse. This tutorial was very helpful. 👏👏👏
Given other videos on this process I'm guess the mat was destroyed, because it has pieces of press-board in it, and once that stuff gets wet to the level it was in this video it warps.

How did your pad hold up after this? Everyone says the pad gets ruined! But we really need to clean ours because it’s disgusting.
I would say that you can ruin it if you don’t thoroughly rinse the pad until the water is clear then press out all of the water before putting it out in the sun to dry. I would try to clean it with water, a little detergent, and a brush first. Then if needed, do the bathtub method.
Our pad is now ruined….

You can remove the boards in the newer ones. Just make sure you can take those boards out before soaking it. Or you will be replacing those and wood is expensive

@@barbaraliles1891 I looked up this video because I was deep cleaning mine and luckily I noticed the zipper and removed the boards. I also had one with the changing table that goes on top which did have a removable board and I didn't know and ruined the board. But luckily I can replace that one.

@@barbaraliles1891 it's a fairly big zipper if yours is like that. So you'll see it pretty quickly. Good luck on cleaning your pack in play. I soaked mine and rinsed it twice and then I took the hose part of my shampooer and went to town on that thing lol. I wrapped suranwrap around the boards before I stuffed them back in there so they were a little more water proof. And that thing has never been cleaner! 😂 It was a pain but it was so worth it.

EXACTLY!!! The instructions in the manual explicitly say not to submerge. It might be OK for play, but definitely not safe for sleep now.
PLEASE do not allow a baby to sleep in this now. It is not safe for sleep!
Per the instruction manual, you are not to submerge the play yard or the mat.
