Yeah, it's so cool how none of that lore matters any more and everything is just Ancients. I love having all culture tied down to one group of people that our character got to hang out with, it doesn't cheapen the worldbuilding at all!!
.....it doesn't cheapen it my guy. It in fact deepens it. Besides for the vague descriptions we get in the character selection screen, we know *nothing* about the twelve. This ties them into the narrative now. And there is no contradictions. Not entirely sure what you're talking about. It brings it all together into one flowing narrative. Plus it actually makes them even more relatable and understandable. They aren't just divine being ruling from afar. They're caretakers. It enriches them as beings by helping us relate and care about them as beings. If it's not to your personal tastes, that's fine. Everyone's entitled to an opinion when it comes to taste. But that's exactly what world building is, and particularly good worldbuilding since it expands understanding we didn't have before in a way that relates them back to the character and the overall struggle. @@All4Tanuki
@@All4Tanuki But that isn't true at all. The specifically talk about how mortal cultural differences brought about interesting perspectives of faith that steadily changed them. It’s so crazy that the first two overworld themes were serene and lighthearted, then understanding the deities motives at the end. The music in Thaleia is like a huge farewell to us
I'm severly in love with this track, it's hard to explain but it invokes certain feelings that are like, on the verge of tears but will keep pushing forward, it's really impressive that the sound team is capable of such tracks.
Been playing since 1.0. Took a very long break then went into this blind, the vista and familiar music hit me like a freaking freight train the first time. All the memories of early ARR days rushing back but also realization that I'm now at the end of that era. Moments like these are just.. magic and stays with you forever.
Omg this. This so much... I remember choking up and getting chills at the same time within a few seconds of first hearing it while watching the stage intro... 🥲
Beat the raid for the first time recently, wanted to listen to the music again. Saw this comment, and the weepy-eyed floodgates opened. XD Thank you, I had forgotten about that quote!
This theme fills me with so much emotion. That's nothing particularly new with XIV, but something about the finality of this raid and the symbolism of the last decade of this game, it's just beautiful.
It still retains that feeling of grandeur youd expect from the Twelve but it also has this bittersweet "you must see this through to the end" vibe Its such a fitting track to wrap up this amazing alliance raid series
I love how crass she is, too. Thaliak’s my WoL’s guardian, so it was funny watching him admonish her. And bittersweet is an understatement, like saying Meteion went a little crazy.
@@StrangerForever85 What's funny is, if you look at the created lore for the 12 (not the actual truth, although that might still be true) Thaliak is her dad
I can't explain how but this song literally makes me cry. I even find it hard to do the raid again, because.. it's so sad to know they are leaving us. It's stupid I know, just a videogame but yea, ff makes you feel certain things. The whole AR set was incredible, I love the story and glad to be part of it. When they thank us for making it thus far I just.. pleas no, let's just travel to Tural or somewhere together haha. This soundtrack is truly beautiful.
I know. I still wish they could have stayed, even if only as observers. I know they said they were tired, and that they can strengthen the star by returning to it. But to me the writers didn’t make them really seem tired, you know. Everyone was having a blast battling. They all jumped at that the chance to go on a trip to the sacred sites with us. I wish we could have proven ourselves, then they released the energy they received from prayer while retaining enough for themselves. Even if the writers didn’t want to have to deal with writing story arcs with them, we could have seen them pop up in animal form in certain places ever now and then as an easter egg, like Alpha and Omega. Plus, I can’t get over the fact that my WOL would have been equal parts furious and sad that they were basically hurting themselves battling us. I could see him marching into one of the heavens demanding answers the moment he heard the results of the Aether readings!😅 ‘He’s definitely yours’, Llymlaen.” “Don’t look at me, he’s a dragoon and a black mage. He clearly takes after Halone and Thal.”
This and the final boss theme feels like a farewell/send off of FF14 itself and the (irl)friends we made within. Yet we're getting ready for a new adventurein Tural next year and the following expansions after.
I still haven't re-done the Hydaelyn fight for this same reason. The only reason this didn't hurt as bad for me was cuz I figured that passing on was what the gods wanted as soon as we learned they were recreations of Hydaelyn's friends What I'm trying to say is, don't feel bad for being emotional about this. It's a hard plot line to come to grips with
I’ve not played Thaleia since beating Endwalker. Just got all of my DoW/M jobs to level 90, then queued in to Alliance Raids as a bard. I got dropped back here then all of the raw emotion I felt during my first run came flooding back, and GOD I was sobbing again as I played-

Let them finally, well and truly be in the past and get the rest they deserve. That said, there's nothing to corroborate what I am saying fully, so it is just theorycrafting.
1:21 is such an exquisite drop into the chorus. Goosebumps every time. Myths of the Realm single-handedly saved Post-EW for me, and has to be the best raid in the game.
These melodies from Thaleia or from the previous Raid Aglaia or Eupho... several of the music from FFXIV make me remember the 90s, my childhood, my adolescence, everything that happened, what I lived, what I achieved and lost. How not to feel nostalgic for the streets where you walked as a child and playing this music brings you a huge feeling of pure nostalgia... that you can't avoid...
The music is beautiful when you first enter and leading through to the other bosses, but something about the end of it, when it falls silent and you stand in wonder of what could be the 6/6 duty completion just before it kicks back in as you fight those fans really makes the feel of the song click, and it's never the same again, just like you and the 12 after the raid is finished.
You're still at it after all this time bringing us some of the best music in gaming long before it'll ever be available on other regular platforms, and in such good quality. Huge thanks to you.
I love how for Venat, Emet, and the Twelve they may have god like powers and are referred to as gods for all but Emet, I'm glad their story was more about letting them rest and move on.
This theme actually had huge impact on the weight of the ending, and it’s beautiful And i knew the twelve were leaving us in one way or another as soon as I heard this theme.
It has taken me forever to place where I have heard the notes of this song from. The beginning parts of this track are the same as the noted used in the Odin Boss Fight or even better, the part of Radiance from Aglaia. Over here however, it has been slowed down and the nots have a different key ever so slightly. So it invokes something familiar but you could almost not place it. Especially when the choir comes in and the notes are dancing around the same motif. Very clever and well done.
Does the sheer timing of the chords in the intro with the choir just.. hit, resonate with the showing of the ewer tipping from the heavens? Damn.. That 20 seconds of intro is comparable only to "From the heavens", intro. At least in my opinion!
Just finished post EW and before moving on to DT thought I should finish this alliance first, and glad I did so!!! First of all, the gods are gorgeous and fun to hang out with. Secondly the raid music is absolutely epic and the interiors are stunning in all three raids! And lastly, who would have thought a raid story about the twelves would be super emotional 😭 I was crying throughout this whole raid. Of course was happy for them to finally get the rest they wanted but also super sad that the twelves we all believed in is not really with us anymore😢 But glad I had a chance to learn about how they were created and their relationship with Hydaelyn, and also how much they loved us.
