That is hilarious and I am all for it.
I have more for you - Golbez never had a weapon like a sword. He was a pure spell caster. He may look like Darth Vader in his suit, but his way to fight is more of Emperor Palpatine. I remember going into this fight day 1 as a Dark Knight, and let me tell you, it was a fustercluck from start to finish in the best way. At the very end of our third attempt (first died due to an AST not having LB on their bar and second was thanks to the SAME AST doubling the stack markers) Golbez was at like 5%, but we were all collectively under 50% HP with tons of Vuln and his Arenawide was coming up. Makes sense this fight was so damn cool. This is basically the Endwalker version of the .3 patch fights from the other expansions so going all out for it is appropriate.
this filled me with dread, every fight against him in the underworld of FF4 is a brutal one, if you can time it so Kain is in the air it is much easier but that can be a real hard thing to time.
One thing that made me love this song much much more is you can hear Zero's Domain theme in this song starting at 1:32. I like that despite Golbez being the major focus you still manage to incorporate Zero into this song, using the more heroic parts of it.
This is an amazing arrangement. I want to say it's Daiki Ishikawa but at the same time, it also sounds like someone else. Who could it be? Or am I just overthinking?
Sounds like Daiki Ishikawa to me and prob my best bet. That being said the way the intro is structured sounds similar to Yoshitaka Suzuki's stuff, like Endcaller (tho I wouldn't expect him to be on patch stuff you never know).
@@LZ02-OVERTURE Ishikawa is definitely my best bet as well but...I dunno. It sounds very much like Ishikawa but it's also not _exactly_ his usual style. I cannot for the life of me find the song that plays when Golbez is monologuing at certain points. It sounds almost jazzy and I love it but I CANT FIND IT
Going to try to avoid spoilers so excuse the vagueness lol... but i hope a certain someone ressurects the fiends so we have to have that fight them all at once moment.... that would be an intense fun fight
I kind of agree tbh, mostly because the other fiends really had no build-up at all and we just up and killed them. To me, it felt like we weren't really done with them
Well, spoilers 1: This isn't the real Golbez. He was sealed in a memoria during the war, this is just his friend using likeliness. 2: Golbez actually did use swords in The After Years. He's even depicted with one in his art, albeit this is long after he's gotten rid of the armor
It's pretty awesome how even when he DOES use the sword, it's typically charged with magic. The only time it is used normally is the Crescent Blade attacks, which are later fused with the dragon's attacks for a magic follow-up. His auto attacks are all magical, and every single other attack in the fight is magical.

Calling it now, the Golbaz we fight is a shard of Zenos and the original Golbaz is the WoL’s 13th shard.
"Golbaz"?
After playing the patch for 2 months now I can safely say this song is easily one of the best in the game thus far. The part at 2:09 is so epic.
So I guess a fight with Zeromus is coming next?
If so I really cannot wait to see how they re-create that boss theme.
Zeromus now with 1/14th of that Zodiark juice, Azdaja aether and Golbez 1.0 memories.
Makes sense this fight was so damn cool. This is basically the Endwalker version of the .3 patch fights from the other expansions so going all out for it is appropriate.
It sure felt like it. This is easily the best patch of the expansion
Ah, the tradition for Voidcast Dais: All the healers are dead!
0:13 GALLEON?!
I wonder if we're gonna get a shadowbringers remix for the Zeromus fight considering what Ystola has planned.
The Zeromus battle music mixed with the Crystarium theme or Tomorrow Unto Tomorrow perhaps? 😮😮
out there theory:
he's one the shards of OUR character.
Nah I think he is one of Zenos’s shards, I think our shard is the memorite crystal that fell into the hole.
The Azem shard likely is the original Golbez. Durante as Golbez here is likely Zenos shard.
They can't make Golbez more badass
*creates a sword*
AH SHIIIIIIIT!
Anyone noticed that Golbez's cape waves more fluidly than King Thordan's cape?
I do wish there was more of Golbez Clad in Darkness mixed in, but I was honestly tearing up when the FFIV Main Theme kicked in.
this filled me with dread, every fight against him in the underworld of FF4 is a brutal one, if you can time it so Kain is in the air it is much easier but that can be a real hard thing to time.
One thing that made me love this song much much more is you can hear Zero's Domain theme in this song starting at 1:32. I like that despite Golbez being the major focus you still manage to incorporate Zero into this song, using the more heroic parts of it.
That's the Final Fantasy IV overworld theme
Best voice actor in Endwalker content

Maybe it's just him trying out different stuff. The structure of the intro does sound like something Suzuki would do but the instrumentation used throughout the track doesn't sound quite like him.
@@LZ02-OVERTURE
He did revenge of the hoard as well. But this doesn't quite hit like his style to me. Hoping he'll do zeromus' rendition.
@@xuto2693 Yeah I don't think this is Suzuki. But oooh, Zeromus's music would be perfect if he's the one doing it. Absolutely perfect.
@@LZ02-OVERTURE Saya Yasaki. I would've never seen that coming. This is sooo different from what Yasaki did before. But I was right that it doesn't sound quite like Ishikawa. But first 2 boss themes from Yasaki alongside "Fleeting Moment" though and they're both beyond amazing.
Theres only one reason i can think of that this wasnt the Organ theme of 'Golbez, Clad in Darkness' and it deals with what we see in a crystal right before the fight...
I WILL FREE US FROM THE WHEEL!
Beat EX last week finally. :D
Best boss in FFXIV trial I’ve ever played in Extreme Version :D
I want to see this track being played by an orchestra so badly
"Deadbeat Dad"
I cannot for the life of me find the song that plays when Golbez is monologuing at certain points. It sounds almost jazzy and I love it but I CANT FIND IT
It’s the one with the really prominent baseline and a piano playing softly in the background
I was just thinking about how I haven't uploaded that track yet (despite it having been in the game since 6.0). I'll see if I can get it up this week

No joke I misread the introduction as "The Voidcast Dads" and I was confused
A raging gale to rend you asunder!!
@Uvi Thanks ma man!
I'm going to headcanon this as Varis's theme music since Golbez looks like a shard of him and we never got a theme for Veezy G
Varis 🤝 Golbez
Having extremely large shoulders
and resting bitch face looks
oh god I remember the name Deadbeat Dad I was in Euphrosyne with him once xD
"A RAGING GALE TO REND YOU ASUNDER!" About 10 seconds later.. *party wipe, followed by tears of frustration and pure disappointment*
Zenos: *PATHETIC*
I will free us from the Wheel
IF YOU WOULD OPPOSE OUR CRUSADE, THEN COME.
Colin McFarlane voice: "THE CUBE"
LIGHTNING SURGE
I love how this theme has the final dungeon theme of ff4 mixed in
5:56 what the other DNC doing?
both healers dead, no rez mages and boss at over 50% health = wipe and reset
I can't get used to the idea of Golbez using a giant dark sword. Wasn't he like an evil dark sorcerer?
it's explained in the story why he uses a sword but he does a lot of magic attacks too
His title card is “Knight in Black” so I find the sword fits him well. If he was the “Mage in Black” that would be a different story.
Golbez in the After Years uses a sword
WTB Tellahs Meteor spell and 1 hit this guy.
Can you re-upload this but just add his voice lines lmfao I'm not saying take this down but Damm I need to hair his voice with this song lol
To me, it felt like we weren't really done with them
LOOK TO THE HEAVENS FOR YOUR D O O M
isnt part of this the airship from snes ff2? im an old man. forgive my ignorance
Yeah but technically it's the main theme/world map theme from that game. Which by the way, FF2 that came out in America is actually FF4 :D
Wait when did golbez use a fucking sword!? Cool!
Well, spoilers
1: This isn't the real Golbez.
I will free us from the real
i get kingdom hearts vibes from his theme xD
